I like the Rock. He’s got a place in movies just not this one. But if anyone is to blame it’s the writers and Dwayna for allowing it to be re-written that way. It was def NOT walking tall at all!

The Rock's walking tall was not a biopic of Beaufort Pussar story... It was loosely based on the concept of Walking tall story line.

Buford was my aunt's first cousin. They grew up together in Tennessee. In my opinion, the first "Walking Tall" film was the best one, but Joe Don Baker is only 6'-2", while Buford was 6'-6". Bo Svenson, the actor who portrayed him in later films, is 6'-6" as well, but a Swedish-American actor didn't quite cut it as a southern sheriff.

I was married to one of his cousins in 1982....He believed in foul play so did daughter. There was bragging about a hit...one night in a bar on Mississippi Gulf Coast. You don't mess around with the Dixie Mafia. As Jim Croce would sing....You don't tug on superman's cape...You don't spit in the wind...You don't pull the mask off the old lone ranger.....And you don't mess around with Jim ( them ). I believe Buford wasn't drinking and driving. I believe he was murdered, because what all he tired put an end of everything was going on in the county. Someone messed with his car while he was at the state fair. Someone made sure he was dead. He was cut up,stabbed and shot . It takes a car accident to kill him, that's strange. He was after the people who killed his wife.RIP Buford

Actually, my belief is, that car was a gift from the Tennessee governor, I believe before they delivered it, it was taken to a secret location where it was reengineered in a way that couldn't be detected by an inspection, and would fail at a certain speed..it was Sabatoged before it was presented to him as a gift..

@@wildestcowboy2668 your full of shit. I'm personally involved with this whole thing on a level you'll never know. You've formulated an opinion from your own imagination based on the movies and sound bites from the people who wanted to discredit him to begin with. This situation went all the way to the top of the Tennessee state government with high power elected officials who were personally involved the operation of the illegal gambling and human sex trafficking trade. Their called, The Dixie mafia. And they are actually bigger than most of your other ethnic mafias and just as dangerous. All Buford wanted, was to have his Town free from the corruption. No more, no less, and didn't get involved in other county's and city's problems with it. Your entitled to your opinion, but hopefully, my little bit of opinion here gave you more to think about. Burford Pusser was not corrupt, and yes, he liked to have a couple beers like most other people do. But, that doesn't make him corrupt. As far as getting the other woman pregnant, it wasn't the female at the shamrock hotel, so do your homework and hopefully you'll find out the rest of the story.

Buford Pusser was a hero or he was in with the criminal gang. Depends on who you talk to. As a bricklayer in Florence, Al I met a bricklayer 20 years older than me who went to high school with sheriff Pusser. He said there were rumors that the sheriff only busted those who would not pay him off and he closed shop on them with his “big stick” that refused to play by his rules. What I am saying is what I heard first hand from a man I worked with who knew Buford Pusser personally. As a kid Sheriff Pusser was my hero so I refuse to believe anything bad about him at all. I think he was a modern day Superman who set out to die taking care of his county. I will always believe he was the real life Andy Taylor from Mayberry cleaning up his town. I had family that went to the Tenn st line when I was a kid and I always waited up for them to get home drunk and tell the next “Buford Pusser” story. I could write a book and it would be a million seller of the stories I have.

When I saw the latest version of the movie "Walking Tall" the part at the very end where it said "In Honor Of Sheriff Buford Pusser" I instantly became very curious and I did hear a long time ago that Walking Tall the original was based on a true story, so I did a lot of reading about this very outstanding man. I mean My Goodness! He was one tough fearless individual who would stop at nothing, like there was no intimidating or bribing him, he sustained multiple injuries bullet wounds etc. and kept right on fighting at all cost and won the battle. Talk about a one man army. However, he was a real law inforcement police officer. I honor him with my deepest condolences to his family etc. May he rest in peace.... Greetings with honor from Canada

The remnants of the car are on display. I don't know if there was an accident reconstruction by experts to determine the cause of the accident. Was there a test for BAC? The accident diagram should show skid marks. Was speeding a factor? There are so many questions that need to be answered. I do believe that there is a strong possibility that the vehicle was tampered with. JB

When you go visit the home a very haunted ==but nice family sprites that alot of times aren't crazy about strangers being in their home but they know it pays the house bills == but DON'T mess with his bedroom in the house or esp. where his office was....Stuff will sometimes move on it's own by a ticted off hand . No one has ever been hurt though so far as I know. I saw the place before I had my channel.
Brufford wanted his town and the family's all safe & doesnt every normal person want that? Sure.
If you go stright down the hallway from the front door & the room all the way down and to the right that room is active.
Try taking many ramdom pictures while you do the tour, you naver may know you might get some ghost shots when you look through the pictures latter.

Where he crashed is US64, which is called Buford Pusser Memorial Hwy now. That was probably a two lane when he was killed? They may have already 4 laned that part of it by then but I dont think so? As kind of a history fact, The Trooper who wrote the accident report on Buford, a few terms later became Sheriff of McNairy County.

    • @jasonsellers9595
      @jasonsellers9595 2 роки тому +1

Yeah 64 was 4 laned and reconstructed about 1998 or 99. It used to be kind of a spooky ride in an 18 wheeler, with all the sharp curves and hills. The 4 laned used to stop about half a mile before you get to the crash site traveling west from selmer.

I remember it being shorter, also the stone was chipped up, where people had taken souvenirs of it. Also I remember in the house, his Bible was on an end table either in the living room or bedroom, I forget.

Fact he said before he died that Pussers car was tampered with and that he was set up to be killed in front of his daughter but that she and her friends were a few minutes later that they had anticipated that is why she got there after he crashed instead of being there for him to crash into which was the initial plan.

I enjoyed this so much. 😊
I’m an Australian and i first heard about Buford many years ago, when I watched A real American hero staring my hero Brian Dennehy. ❤️
I feel so bad for his daughter, fancy coming across your dad like that.
Thank you for this video, ps does anyone know where Brian Dennehy is buried ? He died April last year, my own father died 3 weeks ago. 😔 Once again thank you, enjoyed hearing about Buford. ❤️ Jodie 🇦🇺

I'm with Texas Ray. Buford's last name and his daughter's name were not pronounced correctly. Narrator apparently didn't even watch the movie where he could have at least learned that.

Buford's daughter Dwana was with him at the fair and she said he wasn't drinking. He wouldn't put her in danger like that. His daughter's name isn't Dawn. Her name is Dwana (pronounced Duwayna). Buford had a heart of gold when it came to children and the elderly.

I written a letter to Buford Pusser's Daughter, Dayna Pusser Garrison, before she died, informing of her Father Buford Pusser as a Icon to me. I told her about the Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run in which they raise fundraising money for the Special Needs Athletes in which I am involved, for the Special Olympics. She responded to me saying, If my Father was alive today, He would had been honored to meet you.
