I don't why Arthur Dark hasn't won some sort of award for this series. He is so good at getting information accurately. His respectful and informative way of telling the life of these famous people in a brief summary is fantastic. Keep up the good work. I always learn alot from these.

I'd reckon to say they were quite a bit more than "less than famous" in their time. Time tends to erase memories, good and bad. But in their day, these folks were quite relevant and share an important place in American folk history.

@@typorter-pp6lh Hi! I saw your comment and have to share. I have a relative on my mother's maternal line who also was an Honor Guard on Lincoln's funeral train. (I'm omitting his name for privacy.)
My mom is a certified Genealogist and Archivist for a city in Colorado. I say this, because she's spent many years researching our family and discovered this information.
It's so neat to come across someone else who had a relative who guarded Lincoln's body/funeral train, also. We have no pictures of him doing this, (always searching, however) just an newspaper article naming him among other's.

I live a few blocks away from his home in Michigan by the Lake. He used to drive by and wave in his convertible. He was walking one day and stopped to talk to my husband and I. Real down to earth guy. I had no clue who he was the whole time we talked. 😆. He went on his way and my husband told me who he was. I wasn’t star struck and I think he appreciated how we just talked like neighbors. He was a nice guy. I seen him around town a lot and people would run to him and I really felt like it annoyed him. We live in a small town and I think he liked that about it. Not being noticed. His house seems closed up but maintained and it’s really a cute little home. Rest well Dennis.

I remember seeing Prince up close in concert, this was around 2005, perhaps? The arena had very strange acoustics, nothing he could help but he just hung with it and played even longer because of the appreciation he had for his fans and did some extra acoustic songs as well. The whole band played an extremely tight set. I felt even then I was in the presence of greatness and the night was extremely memorable. There was no greater performance I had seen live. Sure miss him!

He gave his fans what they truly wanted aside of that problem.

I was lucky enough to become friends with Robert Reed a couple of years before he passed. We never talked about the Brady Brunch as I knew he hated playing Mr. Brady. He had a great sense of humor and loved his Scotch. I valued his friendship greatly and miss our conversations. Thanks for including him Mr. Dark. R.I.P. Bob...

I just ran across this video, and I am surprised at how much I'm enjoying this. I'm from Illinois and I had no idea there were so many infamous and famous people nearby. I never even heard of the Herrin Massacre, wow. Thank you, this is incredibly well done, full of details but to the point, no needless talking, etc. Very interesting.

Arthur, Thank you for including my videos from Lincoln, NE (and my face!). I've waited so long to share those who are buried in Nebraska. Nebraska isn't necessarily one of those "destination" places that a lot of people think about, but all throughout the state there are many famous (and infamous) folk who rest here. I will continue to visit cemeteries and get footage of any that might be of interest to you and the viewers. :)

Also, thank you to Arthur Dark for making them so great as well. This video was so well done, and I loved all of the people in the video especially Abe Lincoln. If you guys ever come to the Capitol Visitors Center when we open up for regular tours again you can come and see many statues of Lincoln and more (some of the people from the videos statues).
