Some of the best times of my life were watching the Opry on TNN on Saturday nights. Life was so much better then. It was an honor to watch these legends on the Opry stage. I truly miss it
I am glad you enjoyed the video and it brought back good memories for you. I am the one honored to have you as well as others watching my videos. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this video. As a lifelong country music fan, it brought back a lot of memories from these very talented folks. I was lucky enough to see George Jones in concert many times, he really was an amazing person.
I hosted an old Country show on the radio for 9 years in Alaska, all these names and song writers are who I proudly talked about and played their music. Thank you for this beautiful video, it made my heart happy to see the names and resting places of all the people I loved.
👋 mam I'm 14 from Pemba. Your videos are very educational. Sad but educational as in showing respect to keep these country musicians memories alive for future generations to come.
Ma’am ❤ you should read audio books I have severe anxiety and found your channel today ❤❤❤❤❤ not only did I learn ton of cool info but your voice sounds like an angel sent from above you’ve calmed my nerves, you have a blessed week and rest of the year❤❤
wow thank you for sharing this! Johnny Paycheck lived here in WV a short while, only a couple miles from me! I helped him get his bus out of a ditch and he was like a brother from then on! I never saw him again (other than TV) after he left here but we had a lot of good times while he was here! Thanks again!
I'm not a country music fan but I did watch this video and hearing the stories of each one is a great memory to carry about those who have passed away...
Very interesting video, I grew up listening to almost every one of these performers. Thank you so much for the time and effort it took to put this information together! You presented each individual very respectfully, very kind of you!
On the inside there is Junior Huskey and Roy Huskey Jr. Famous father and son Bass players so many looked up to and artist wanted them for recording sessions.
I will have to check their graves out the next time I do some videoing at Spring Hill Cemetery. This video was made at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery and Hendersonville Memory Gardens Cemetery. Thanks for the info., I look forward to making a video about them in the future and thank you so much for watching my video.
Just came across this and immediately subscribed. What a fantastic page to follow. Looking forward to seeing Patsy Clines gravesite. She’s my absolute favorite 🩷🎼🎸
Thanks for watching the video and subscribing to my channel. I appreciate it so much. I hope to go see Patsy Cline’s gravesite in late Spring or Summer of 2025.
He is certainly one of my favorites. I use to watch his television show when I was living in Texas far awhile. Made me think of country music and being home in Tennessee. I also loved that Merle Haggard could do a good job of impersonating him. Saw Merle doing that on Marty’s show and it was wonderful how Marty enjoyed it. Thanks for watching the video and bringing back good memories for me.
@ seen the same show ralph Emory was hosting. I’m a fan of haggards also. I’m from Kentucky but live on the East coast now My sister had farms in sneadsville Tenn her cousin by marriage was the great Johnny Horton .. I’m a country lady I was country when country wasn’t cool.
Thanks for the info. I am planning a trip in February if everything goes as planned and a stop by Johnny Horton’s grave is on my list of places to visit.
Thanks for the nice words. Love Missouri. I enjoyed seeing the sites in Missouri when I went there…..including going up in the arch in St Louis, seeing the Missouri Wall of fame in Cape Girardeau and eating in Sikeston at Lambert’s Cafe and having a roll thrown my way.
This is where I’ll be buried. I’ll be in the Naomi garden my parents bought them in the 70s late 70s not the early 80s not too far from George Jones actually I’ll be buried. I’m 52 now and my husband‘s parents are buried out there. I live in Mount Juliet, but I was out there a couple weeks ago I put some flowers on my parents grave and his sister and nieces graves.
It is a well kept cemetery which I admire, since it is so large. I have been there several times and it always mowed and you don’t see tombstones turned over or leaning. Thanks for watching my video.
I am related on my dad's side of the family to Little Jimmy Dickens I met him when I was a little girl he was at my grandma's house in Indianapolis,Indiana
Was he your Uncle or Cousin or what relation to you? Do you remember anything special from the time you met him? I just love hearing information on country music stars from family, friends and fans of theirs. I also have a short video on just Little Jimmy Dickens and another video that includes his home. I love a comment from his wife, Mona on my video about Carl Smith. Thanks so much for watching.
@tennesseegirl1448 I don't know what relation He was but my Brother is named Karl D Smith but with a K and not a C but my Dad was Robert Stephen Smith my Grandpa was Granville Smith he was a full blooded Cherokee Indian. i was just a little girl when he came to my Grandma's house her name was Flossy Mae Smith but she remarried 2 times after her and Grandpa Smith parted ways .
@@tennesseegirl1448 I don't know if we are really related to him or not but I remember being told he was and on my mom's side that we are related to Winston Churchill and my husband's mom is related to Jesse James and one more thing I am not happy about is my son David's dad is a distant relative of Hitler
My grandpa Gene Willis (Ishmel Eugene) is buried in the first cemetery next to his mother Bertha Dell (Pack) Willis (my great-grandmother) is/was the mother of the Willis brothers Guy (James U. Willis), Skeeter (Charles C. R. Willis) buried in the second cemetery next to his wife, and Vic (John Victor), my great uncle.
Thanks for the information. I love finding out more about the graves I video. I am glad I had Charles “Skeeter” Willis included in the video. Thanks for watching the video.
I wish you had broken this up in to two videos and spent a few more seconds at each grave. Especially the more popular and elaborate graves. I kept pausing to read the markers but you were so rushed it cut off most of them and I couldn’t read them. Don’t be in such a hurry! We enjoy your videos.
I did it just to give viewers a glimpse of some of the graves. I have already done some longer and more detailed videos on some of the country music stars. I hope you will check some of them out. I also would like to know which singer you are interested in as I may have already done a video on them or will be doing in the near future. I could then let you know when I have completed a video on them. I love hearing what my viewers would like to see. Thanks so much for watching.
My fiance visited this cemetery on our trip to the Nashville area in early December 2023. We stopped at the funeral home first to get a map to help guide us. The funeral home worker was so rude to us. We took the map and went to the outside resting places first and then into the indoor masoleum. The inside of that place had the worst stench of death that we couldn't finish looking at all of the resting places. They had air fresheners all over to try and mask it, but let me tell you, the smell was so strong that it stayed in our sinus for a long time after leaving. I will never go back in there! 😢
Sorry you had a bad experience. I hope at least everyone else you met in Nashville or Tennessee for that matter treated you kindly. I certainly appreciate you watching my video. Thanks so much!
Thank you for watching the video. Sorry it took me so long samw8452 to say that to you. I try to respond back to everyone that watches my video and leaves a comment.
Minnie Pearl was the greatest comedian in country music 🎵 she was on Hee Haw (My favorite show) I saw her on the Carol Burnett show and the Love Boat 🚢 plus she was in Coal Miner's Daughter and speaking of her I wonder if she was buried at Hurricane Mills cause if I remember correctly Loretta said she was going to be buried there and I really loved Jerry Clower I have some of his audio tapes and a video of his comedy show
I have a video on Minnie Pearl where I interviewed her great niece and also showed her gravesite in Franklin, Tennessee. Her grave is marked with her name Sarah Ophelia Colley Cannon. No mention of her stage name on it which surprised me. I plan on doing a video pretty soon on Loretta Lynn who is buried on her property in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee. Thanks for watching.
I had seen Mel’s grave before but the day that I did the video I didn’t find it before I got tired of all the walking. Hopefully I will get it included in a later video. Thanks for watching.
I was showing that a brother-in-law was buried so close to Johnny Cash and that a sister would be buried near him when she passes away. I did say in the video that she hadn’t passed away as of the day I was making the video. I do thank you for watching the video.
June was Johnny’s second wife but Edwin Nix was June’s second husband and Rosanna known as Rosie Nix Adams was June’s daughter by her second husband. Yes, June was married to Johnny Cash when she died.
