I grew up being told that it’s offensive to call someone black. I was told it was more polite to say Haitian or African American.

When I first heard about this incident I was horrified. 22 people injured? Insanity. At a celebratory football parade? Unreal.
A day or two later and it wasn't even mentioned in the news. I thought, "that's odd - this is a big story."
Then I realized why it's not a big story. Insanity.

My coworker is a SUPER liberal. He talked about the KC shooting as a mass shooting/terrorist attack and wouldnt shut up about it... until the suspects became known. He is probably trying to forget it ever happened.

This sounds unbelievable, but our Chief (KCPD) told us to give warnings to people in a certain area code. I refused to write tickets to anyone based on race. Luckily, I wasn’t a big ticket writer anyway. I was in a specialized spot. We only went after violent felons.

The mainstream buries any mass shooting where the shooter isn’t white. These people probably only hear about a fraction of them if that’s the only place they get their news. Also, 50% of KC metro population lives in Jackson County. Jackson County is responsible for close to 90% of homicides.

As someone who lives on the KS side of KC, if it happened on my side, it would've been Hispanics, specifically Mexicans bc of the gangs here.

I encourage anyone reading this to look into the reporting on the 6th street shooting in Austin. They actually wrote they were refraining from providing a description of the suspect (he was still at large at the time) due to “negative association/stereotypes”.

My suburb outside St Louis had 2 shootings this week. One was a Walmart employee who got into it with some guy, similar deal at the McDonald's. I can probably list a good dozen within a 10 mile radius from me in the last year, and that's just ones I know about. We got a jump on everybody on this stuff after Mikey Brown in 2014.
This is happening here in germany since 2015.
