  • In this video I discuss the closing of a Safeway in San Francisco which angered black activists who view it as somehow a product of evil white racism. I explain how this could lead to hardship for elderly residents who rely on this store however the goal of the new developers is to build housing that is supposedly desperately needed

At some point the store was no longer profitable, so it closed. The community was outraged but almost all of the shoplifting was due to teens and pre-teens. Perhaps, if their parents raised them right, their store would still be there.

I work in retail in multiple stores near Los Angeles as a vendor and typically the ones I see just fill up the cart and walk right out without paying. Usually it's detergent that they are stealing. Over the years, more and more of the stores I service added glass cases and other theft prevention methods. One of the Albertsons I used to service, just keeps all the detergent in the backroom so their detergent shelves are always empty. You have to ask for the detergent if you want to buy it there. There is no sign or anything. Others move the detergent behind glass cases behind customer service desk. Others just put everything in glass cases. It's crazy how things have progressed in the last few years. A lot of these stores didn't used to have glass cases or locking mechanisms. Theses days it's pretty much required to curb theft even in the safer more wealthy neighborhoods. They have been seeing a spike in theft too.

I have to agree with all of the points raised in this one. The very sad reality is that their rage is primarily due to their own ignorance, not understanding that the company is in fact a private entity and it can make choices where to locate. There appears to be confusion regarding what a store even is, and hence the anger that they would leave a location. Not understanding this basic idea is at the heart of the problem, it seems. This confusion also reaches all the way up to the minds of the local government who like to treat these PRIVATE BUSINESSES as if they were some kind of Bureau Of Grocery Distribution, or an actual arm of Government - which they are NOT.

I'm so glad I don't live there anymore, and happy that there aren't any number of blacks around me now. I know this sounds awful, but after being around so many and all the trouble that comes when you concentrate the business end of a victim class around you grow to wish you never had to see another again. The downside to this is all those who can leave are leaving and moving to places that were largely unaffected by the current ultra liberal ideology and political policies, they then infect these areas with the same shit that destroyed the places they left in the first place. Look at the larger population centers in states like Minnesota, Montana, Idaho. Wisconsin, Texas and so on and you begin to understand why those who lived there for generations call them transplants in a derogatory way. The ultra left leaning liberals are the problem, they have put this victim mentality mindset into black Americans for decades and in the process have destroyed the black community, Malcom X warned them about this yet they didn't listen. Now you have the Ultra liberals pushing their progressive ideology where it was not only unwanted but attempting to replicate the results from places like San Fran, LA, Portland, Seattle, NYC, and Chicago in those communities putting them at risk of becoming just like those failed cities mentioned herein.

I have a solution to this "food justice" issue.
The NAACP can open and run a grocery store in that neighborhood. Surely no one would steal from a store run by the NAACP. Heck, you would not need to put items behind glass.
Or the brilliant minds that run the City of San Francisco could open a grocery store run by city employees. What could go wrong with either of these two choices?
