      I've come to learn that Tallow behaves differently for different people. It probably has to do with the various sources.
      For me, Tallow traces Slowly but, I've had people report that it speeds up trace for them. The Shea Butter I use traces Slowly too but many people say Shea Butter speeds trace.
      I think it's good to just take note of how it behaves for you and soap accordingly.

      @@soothingsoapbubbles I put them in flower molds and like you showed, it set really easily, and after 2-3 hours I took them out of the molds, and they look so beautiful! I loved this very simple recipe you showed us. I think I will make more of this recipe by infusing different kinds of herbs in tallow. Thank you so much for such a wonderfully simple recipe. A complete no-stress recipe. I could have added Calendula essential oil to it, but the tallow was already smelling so yummy with the calendula that I wanted to see if the soap would retain the fragrance. But unfortunately, the fragrance was gone. Next time I will add the essential oil. I can't thank you enough. I wish I could add a picture of my soap to show you what I did with the help of your recipe. I'll look for more simple recipes like this on your channel.

I'll go take pictures of my soap now and send them to you. Now, I am looking for another recipe from your channel and will incorporate persimmon in it to see if I can make it work.

    Why does it take a while to reach trace?

      You're absolutely welcome and thank you for your support. It has a high amount of oleic acid, an unsaturated fatty acid that actually slows trace.

    Wow I use sugar but in the lye solution. Is there a reason you add to oils?

    • @soothingsoapbubbles
      @soothingsoapbubbles  7 місяців тому

      It's lovely to know it can be put in the lye too. I just prefer to add mine to the soap batter because once I put mine in cool lye solution and it sought of froze. It instantly became solid and took a lot of efforts to dissolve completely. Probably the lye solution should have been hot.

    Good morning, what does you mean by 'reach trace'

    • @soothingsoapbubbles
      @soothingsoapbubbles  7 місяців тому +1

      Trace refers to the point where the oil and lye solution mixture, has fully emulsified and is ready to be poured in the mold. I'll advise you research on it more.

    Why does
    My
    Tallow
    Soap turn brown?

    • @soothingsoapbubbles
      @soothingsoapbubbles  2 місяці тому +3

      It might be the Tallow causing it. The soap is more likely to take the colour of the Tallow. So, if the Tallow is brown, the soap would most likely be brown.
      Also, it might be that the soap is overheating. For this issue, I'll suggest you Soap at a cooler temperature, you can refrigerate your soap after pouring in the mold too, use individual silicone molds if you can.
