Beginner here. Is there a measured recipe instead of a percentage? Dying to try this recipe but I do t trust myself with the percentages.
Hiii...the measurements are stated in the video. If you have any questions concerning any particular measurement, please just let me know
Do you let the bars cure for a few weeks after removing from the molds or are they usable right away?
Please, let them cure for at least 4 weeks. This ensures the soap is fully saponified and excess water evaporates
@ perfect .. thanks
I came To ask why you add sugar but at the end of the video it’s explained! Very Interesting! Sugar with tallow = better lather! 👌🏼 Awesome!
❤
❤️
Now I'm trying this soap with a twist of adding persimmon pulp. 😂 I hope this experiment is successful too (like my calendula-infused tallow soap from your recipe). I hear that persimmon soap is deodorizing, so I must try it. Waiting in the mold now. 🙂
Woooowww...I should do my research on persimmon pulp! I'll love to see it once you're done please 🥺
@@soothingsoapbubbles I watched a video where he adds the pulp directly to the mix after light trace. Supposedly persimmon soap is used to remove the "old people smell". I have no idea what that is. LOL! My 90-year-old dad lives with me. He doesn't have any such smell. But I was guessing, deodorizing is deodorizing, right? I could try it on my stinky teenaged son. LOL! I also added activated charcoal because persimmon & lye make a weird dirty green color that I don't like. I will definitely send you pictures. It is easier for me to experiment with your recipes because they are simpler to follow. Thank you so much. 🥰
@@soothingsoapbubbles email with photos sent. 🙂
"old people smell" LOL! This would be a perfect deodorizing bar! I love how creative you are with your soaps. It's exciting 🤗🤗🤗
@@soothingsoapbubbles I sent you an email with photos. 💖
Thank you! I just made it with my calendula-infused tallow. Right now it is sitting in the molds 🙂. Thank you so much!
This is beautiful! You're absolutely welcome. I love the fact that you infused calendula in your Tallow. Can't wait to hear how it turned out. Welldone 👍🏽
@@soothingsoapbubbles I put them in flower molds and like you showed, it set really easily, and after 2-3 hours I took them out of the molds, and they look so beautiful! I loved this very simple recipe you showed us. I think I will make more of this recipe by infusing different kinds of herbs in tallow. Thank you so much for such a wonderfully simple recipe. A complete no-stress recipe. I could have added Calendula essential oil to it, but the tallow was already smelling so yummy with the calendula that I wanted to see if the soap would retain the fragrance. But unfortunately, the fragrance was gone. Next time I will add the essential oil. I can't thank you enough. I wish I could add a picture of my soap to show you what I did with the help of your recipe. I'll look for more simple recipes like this on your channel.
Aww 🥰. This melted my heart. I'm so glad that the reason for which I started this channel is being achieved; making soapmaking as simple and fun as it can be. I love your and creativity, Welldone. I'll really love to see the pictures of your beautiful soap, if you can send them to soothingsoapbubbles@gmail.com 🤗
@@soothingsoapbubbles Yes, I love your channel. 😍I am new here, but I loved the simplicity and the fun I had doing this. I shared this video link in an FB group, too. I'll go take pictures of my soap now and send them to you. Now, I am looking for another recipe from your channel and will incorporate persimmon in it to see if I can make it work.
@@soothingsoapbubbles Just emailed you the photo. 💖
Love your videos❤
Thank you so much ❤️
@ tried out the CP waiting for it to cure
Wow, I love to know the outcome, Welldone!
Wish I can send you a pix.
Oh, this is lovely. Please, send them via Gmail; soothingsoapbubbles@gmail.com Thank you so much
Do you add fragrance?
No. It's fragrance free
Very good insight. Thank you. I will definitely try this out.
Thank you! I'll be glad to hear how It turns out!
@ Tallow traces fast for me or am I stick blending too much?
I've come to learn that Tallow behaves differently for different people. It probably has to do with the various sources. For me, Tallow traces Slowly but, I've had people report that it speeds up trace for them. The Shea Butter I use traces Slowly too but many people say Shea Butter speeds trace. I think it's good to just take note of how it behaves for you and soap accordingly.
I've never seen hot-processed soap done this way. Thank you for sharing this method. 🥰🤩
You're absolutely welcome! It's now my favorite method of making hot process soap 😄
Never did I think a charcoal bar could be conditioning😂 We really learn every day, thank you!❤❤
Your absolutely welcome. And yes, we really do learn every day. The soap is soooo conditioning, it doesn't strip my sensitive skin.
Wow!
❤️
I will definitely be trying this out!
You'll absolutely love it!
It's so beautiful 🖤 soap ❤ I have silly questions 1. Why is the need to double boil after achieving the trace? 2. When we use beeswax, will the soap become hard and can be used for a long time? Thank you in advance for your response😊
Hiiii...I double boiled the batter because I decided to use the hot process method which requires adding external heat to the batter, to speed up the saponification process. It's totally optional. You can simply stick blend to trace and pour the batter in your silicone mold. That's the cold process method. 2. Yes, beeswax adds long lasting hardness to natural soap. Also, make sure the soap cures for at least 4 weeks. Within this period, excess water evaporates from the soap, and this helps it last longer Thank you for your support 🤗
@soothingsoapbubbles Thank you so much for your detailed reply 😊 ❤️ I love to watch all your soap making videos 😀 they are so short and enjoyable ☺️ Have a nice day 😊 💛 awaiting for your upcoming videos 😇
Thank you so much! I'm thrilled to hear you're enjoying the videos and finding them helpful. Your support means a lot, and I can’t wait to share more fun and informative content with you! Wishing you a wonderful day too. Stay tuned for more exciting soapmaking videos!
Beautiful! 😍
Thank you 🤗
Plz suggest a replacement for palm kernel oil and bleached palm oil
Palm kernel Oil- coconut oil Palm oil- talli, Shea Butter Remember to run through a soap calc.
@soothingsoapbubbles thank you so much
Sooooo beautiful. I will give it a try, thank you.
I'll love to get feedback 🤗 Thank you for watching!
When I say it was just Saturday I saw a couple of hot process videos and thought about trying it out for a hemp soap slab ... And here you are ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥🫶🏾 so cool ❤️🔥
Thank you so much! It's amazing how timing works out sometimes 😄🔥. I'd love to hear how your hemp soap slab turns out-hot process is so fun to experiment with!
I haven't done hot process soap ever. Please tell me why the double boiler method is easier than crock pot method. Thank you so much.
With the double boiling method, you're able to make way smaller batches, especially for a start. But with a crock pot, it might not be possible to make a really small batch of soap because of how wide the pot might be. It might be impossible to stick blend the small batch in the crock pot. Also, some people don't have a crock pot but want to try out hot process soap. The main aim of the video is to show that using a crockpot isn't the only way to try out the hot process method in Soapmaking.
@@soothingsoapbubbles thank you so much for your detailed reply. I am an absolute newbie at soap making.
ma can you teach on how to make hard and long lasting laundry soap
I'll plan towards that but, this particular recipe gives a hard and long lasting soap
you're the best thank you ma
Thank you and you're welcome!
Please share your measurements
Very Beautiful! Did you cover the container while soaping through double boiler or kept it open and didn't you get any soap volcano without stirring the batter? Just a small request to please make a full video showing the double boiling hot process for us to know in detail ❤️
Hi, thank you I didn't cover the container. I closely watched it and stirred the batter whenever I noticed it rising. I'll make a full video on the process
@@soothingsoapbubbles Wow thanks. Yes please 🤗
How did you unmold the soap from the Pringles can? I've never been successful with that?
Because of the paper lining, it easily slid out of the mold. Just make to line the bottom and sides properly
Where did you get your cocoa? Beautiful soap. Thanks for sharing
Thank you ❤️ It's food grade cocoa powder. From a cake shop
Beautiful soap. What is your lye concentration?
Wow. This is a good insight
Thank you!
Beautiful color. Thank you
You're welcome and thank you!
Thank you. Blessings to you and your loved ones 🙏👍
You're absolutely welcome and thank you for watching. Blessings to you and yours!
Hi there 😊 would it be possible to substitute the palm kernel oil with anything else please? ❤
Hello 🤗. Yes, you can substitute with coconut oil. Palm kernel and coconut oil have similar fatty acids profile, and give similar properties in soap
I love this. You’re awesome !!!
Thank you so much, I really appreciate your kind words🤗
@@soothingsoapbubbles your welcome. I appreciate you for taking the time to record your process. Inspiring !!! Have a blessed day !!
Love rosemary a lot. Beautiful soap
Thank you so much 🤗
I love a simple soap. How much essential oils did you add ?
Me too 🤗. I used 5% of my total oil weight. That's 15g
@@soothingsoapbubbles thank you
ingredients?
They're all stated in the video
I want to ask some people add soda ash and foam booster to their soda soap why what is the benefit of soda ash in soda soap
Those are just additives. Soap can be made without them, if you have the right recipe.
Please how many minutes did the lye solution used to cool?
It varies. Depending on the size of the lye solution. I always let mine cool to room temperature. Just feel through the container.
What was the temperatures of both lye an oil when you mix them?
I didn't check. I just melted my oils, mixed my lye as my oil was melting. Then mixed lye and oil immediately after making the lye solution.
Why does My Tallow Soap turn brown?
It might be the Tallow causing it. The soap is more likely to take the colour of the Tallow. So, if the Tallow is brown, the soap would most likely be brown. Also, it might be that the soap is overheating. For this issue, I'll suggest you Soap at a cooler temperature, you can refrigerate your soap after pouring in the mold too, use individual silicone molds if you can.
@@soothingsoapbubbles thank u!
How Much Tallow you Add
It's a 100% Tallow soap
Hi, can you still smell some cocoa even if you put not fragrance?
Slightly, yes
You keep blowing my mind with your soaps🔥😭

😊
What gives it the beautiful color?
It's a soap colour; cadet blue ii
Other than color, what does the tomato juice do?
For me, the major aim of using it was to get a natural colour and just to explore using natural juices in soap. I believe that the benefits of a soap bar has to do more with its base oils.
Might have been good to show the soap at thick trace in the water to show when to pull it out and put into the mold, but just my opinion as a new subscriber
I'll be making a more detailed video on this style of hot process, where I'll show it all. Thank you and welcome to the family 🤗
Beautiful as always. Did the color fade?
Thank you ❤️ Because it's hot process and the lye concentration is high, 2 weeks was okay for its cure and the colour lasted. Hot process helps with that too
Such creamy lather! I love it ❤
Thank you ❤️
