Good morning Holly ☕️, I do enjoy cutting videos just as much as making and packing and chat. Just love the way lavender swirl turned out. ❤ and enjoy like always, my mom said hi, she loved the lavender swirl. Have a blessed week and see you next time.
I read that tallow cold process soap is very good for acne and cystic acne skin also, which has me now wanting to buy some tallow bars from you to try as I have struggled with break outs on my face since I was a teen and I’m now 46 years old and still struggling with it. 😢
Have you tried salycilic acid on your face? It's not a harsh product and comes in several strengths. As a person who formulates skincare, that's where I'd start. ❤❤❤
Hi Holly, Nice to see you!! Your soaps look great as usual and nice that you went back to the bigger size! Hope the remainder of your Summer is good and non-eventful! Take care!
Thank you! I had moved to making smaller batches and just didn't quite figure the amount I needed right. I didn't realize until the batches had cured. Oops!
Very nice Ms. Holly. You have truly inspired me and what I have made , my family loves. I don't sell or market any soaps the way you and others do. I just wanted to do something to make my family's skin a bit healthier. Thank you for sharing and being an inspiration to others. It is truly appreciated. I too love lavender. It is both a flower and an herb. I love using this plant for all kinds of things. GOD Bless You Ms. Holly. I look forward to your next video.
I recent an order from you to my sister who also loves your soap. She said that the Huckleberry soap smelled wonderful and she couldn't wait to use it. Also she now expects more to make it into her sticking this Christmas. Thank you Holly for making such wonderful products that I look forward to purchasing again and again.
Awe thanks so much! I am very excited to get a new batch of Mountain Huckleberry Soap made. I'm working on bubbling bath salts right now (including Mountain Huckleberry!) and then I will have the space to make soap again!
My bars after cure are 5 to 5.25. I like that size in my fragranced bars. My essential oil soaps run smaller. Essential oils are more expensive per ounce. So they run 4.25 to 4.50 per cured bar. I try to keep both the same price. ❤ I love how you take time to explain the process to new soapers. I think we've been soaping almost the same amount of time. I started in 2005. I can't remember exactly what year you've told us before. Mush brain is the story of my life dealing with cancer and chemotherapy! 😂😂😂
I like all your content Holly it’s all fun. I know what you mean when your husband leaves and things happen, three weeks ago my husband works at a Coal Mine and he left the Monday and I lost power the same day I checked the power box and found it had tripped and of course it kept tripping so I had to get the electrician out. 😊
Thank you! Oh gosh, that just figures doesn't it? The afternoon before he flew out, he had to change out a water pump, then the AC quit and we were under excessive heat warnings, then we had another plumbing issue. He got us figured out before he left thank goodness. Then we had two wildfires pop up fairly close by the week he was gone. We haven't had any since!
@@moriversoap Oh my…..fires? Wow scarey!!!. Well you had more issues than me lol. Two weeks before I woke up to this tremendous noise and I couldn’t make out what it was I got pretty worried anyway I opened my bedroom window and the noise took me aback and it turned out to be the pool filter the pool is about 15 feet from my bedroom window anyway the hose had detached itself from the actual filter well the sucking noise was unlike anything I’d heard before but a very easy fix I got my 10yr old Grandson to fix it for NaN so it was no biggy but I won’t forget that noise anytime soon 😂😂😂.
Good morning Holly, what a nice cutting video. I made my grapefruit margarita ( lime and grapefruit eo) with Bison tallow and hight amounts Cocoa butter had a hard time cutting it just the next day! It was so hard. Anyhow I think they are great and beautiful and you should call them creamy orange and creamy lavender, just kidding. They look so so creamy! Thank you
I am on the hunt for a rose fragrance for you. They can be difficult to work with and not have the scent payoff that we all think of when we think of roses. I'll try though!
hi Holly you mentioned pureed pumpkin I have dried pumpkin powder. could i work that into my soaps? i usually use lard and coconut but have been looking at bear tallow to try. what is the benefit of pumpkin in the soap? does that effect the lye calculator or is it for more as a colorant?
Hi Holly, again beautiful soaps, love loving the purple one, my favorite colors….do you mind me asking, where do you get your tallow and do you just swap it out with palm oil or replace olive oil also? ❤ never used tallow but would like to try it!
Thank you Lynn! This last batch of tallow was from Soapers Choice. I tend to purchase from there or Essential Depot. I just have a different recipe for tallow as I don't use palm oil.
yes you can swap it with the palm oil in the sense of creating your recipe, but the effect will obviously be different, since tallow has a different makeup of palmatic and stearic fatty acids (more in balance, essentially equal amounts of them), while palm oil is high in ... palmatic acid, and low in stearic acid. You can't swap with olive oil as this is a fluid oil and has a different function in the soap. You can keep the rest of your recipe the same. Even better in a way, to be able to test the difference, by only changing 1 factor :) FYI, do not also use cocoa butter because it has the same makeup as tallow so it would not make sense (and only make your recipe more expensive for no effect). Shea butter or mango butter do make sense on the other hand, and basically add more stearic acid and a little more oleic acid. One of the best tallow is Belgian Blanc de Boeuf (Beef white). In Belgium and northern France it's used to bake fries and make soap.
Beautiful soap! I tried to see what make your stick blender is as I’m looking to for one with a longer shaft. But your link is no longer available. Could you tell me the make thanks.
@@moriversoap Is this stick blender easy to handle? I bought a Chefman a while back and I thought it was going to catapult me into the wall. I’ve been hand mixing lately 😂
I don't even remember what these ones are off the top of my head. LOL I think they are 6 x 18. I have several different sizes. I always suggest taking the loaf size you want to make and just multiplying it. Easy peasy.
I can understand that! This soap was made with 40/42 but I think the next batch will be Bulgarian. I have been using it to help me sleep. It's not as potent as the 40/42.
The lavender soap makes me think of clouds in the beautiful blue sky. Thank you.
So lovely! Thank you Sharon!
I LOVE my lavender tallow soap I ordered!! ❤ it was like opening a Christmas present! Creamy dreamy goodness! Thanks, Holly!!
I am so glad! Thank you bunches Jill!
As always beautiful soaps
Thank you Karen!

Love the Lavender soap looks like clouds In the sky so beautiful 😊xx
Thank you Jayne!
Thank you Holly, always love watching your videos! You are one of my two favorite soap makers.
Thank you so much!
Oh I LOVE the Lavender soap!! The swirl reminds me of the blue Wedgewood China!! STUNNING!!!
That's fantastic! Thank you!
The pumpkin spice tallow soap looks so creamy!
Thank you! It sure does!

That's interesting. My tallow bars also have cocoa butter in them so I don't know how they'd stack up in that way.
Have you tried salycilic acid on your face? It's not a harsh product and comes in several strengths. As a person who formulates skincare, that's where I'd start. ❤❤❤

I make high coconut milk content soap so I have to soap at low temps and have to pop it in the freezer for hours to keep it from cracking.
Oh I bet so.
The lavender soap looks like white and blue marble.

This batch was from Soapers Choice. I get it from Essential Depot as well.
I get mine at Essential Depote, too. Their prices are reasonable
I also get my lye there too!
