Wresltemania 19 is one of my faves, but one I have to watch every once in a while. I don't know why but near the end of the ppv I just feel lathargic, not to say all the main event matches were bad, I always get tired near the end of it, and Lesnar vs Angle is an awesome match, but after watching Austin vs Rock (Not the best encounter) just felt weird to have Lesnar and Angle out there after that match.

I loved Rock v Austin III. The Hollywood gimmick was excellent- especially after the fans turned on him. Rock's taunts and antics were very amusing. His selling was also very entertaining. Like a greatest hits collection. I also enjoyed the finale of three Rock Bottoms. As usual, King and JR's commentary was top-notch in this match.
WM 19 was a really good Mania indeed, HBK/Jericho was great, Triple H/booker was a solid match despite the poor booking/finish, Hogan/Vince was a really good, entertaining street fight with great storytelling and story heading into it and even though I feel a lot of fans overrate Brock/Angle when they act like it was awesome or something, it still was a solid main event even with some pacing issues, miss communication at times and the major botch that almost killed Lesnar. Undercard was EH, but the 3 team tag title match was really enjoyable, diva match was really good too. and yes this Mania was definitely better than the overrated WM 17, I can't believe people say that's one of the greatest mania's ever, I made a video on it a few years ago and got so much hate for shitting on Rock/Austin and saying it was good but not great show, because universally fans adore it.
My favorite WrestleMania of all time. I cannot help but to watch Austin vs Rock first every time I re-watch this show. The Rock vs Austin build up for this match was one of my all time favorites as well.

Yes Jeff, WM XIX was very good and it is underrated, why!?! The WWE was good then, the Toothless Agression Era is like the Hogan Era very underrated nowadays. Matt and Rey Jr. ok, Taker was bad, Womens Title Match solid, just like the Tag Team Championship, Shawn and Y2J Classic, Booker got buried OH GOD! Hogan & Vince great, i freaked out for Piper, Austin & Rock was entertaining, Brock and Kurt had better matches but good a Mania.
Mania 19 is how card structure should be made. First match a fast paced match. 2nd match also fast paced with big men. 3 and 4th tittle matches fast paced with different dynamics. Then yo go to the heavy hitter slower matches with great story telling.
This is my favorite WrestleMania of all time!!! Just a superb card top to bottom. I cant think of one bad match on this card. You had pretty much a triple main event with Hogan/Vince, Rock/Austin, Angle/Brock. If i had to name one less then stellar match it would be Undertaker Vs Big Show & A Train.
I actually liked 18 and 20 better than I did this WrestleMania. I remember at the time, I was so mad that Rey didn't win the Cruiserweight title on the big stage (though looking back now Rey didn't really need to win this title but I never watched WCW). I was also mad that Jericho had the laugh on HBK after their awesome match and mad that Booker T didn't win the world title (well most people are mad about that one). I was a younger fan back then that only cared about that big climactic babyface win. Looking back now, this was an incredible WrestleMania! The three big matches needed 3 finishers to end them. This was indeed a WrestleMania for the hardcore fans.
My absolute favorite part of this whole show had to be when the camera zooms in on Vince's head slowly rising up from behind the ring apron with that evil, maniacal grin on his bloody face. I could not stop laughing, and the crowd reaction was fantastic! For all the shit Vince gets, and most of it is deservedly so, he certainly knows how to work a match and entertain the hell out of people when he wants to.
Undertaker Mania matches: I still think his Mania ix match with The Giant Gonzalez was better than his match with King Kong Bundy at Mania xi cos at least Undertaker vs Gonzalez had the kind of drama at the end

I thought Mania XIX was GREAT from beginning to end, and yes, some may say it's the only Mania without that one match...well, I think it's better to have a great SHOW than one great match... I think WrestleMania 14, and 10 are the best WrestleMania's out of the '90s, WrestleMania X8, 19, 24 are the best (in my opinion) were the best WrestleMania's in the 2000's, WrestleMania 26, best WrestleMania out of the 2010's. Those to me are the best WrestleMania's in each decade, didn't really care for the '80s ones.
This is an under rated mania. The running theme during this show was the finishers. It took 3 rock bottoms to beat Austin. It took 3 F5s to beat angle. It 3 leg drops to beat Vince. But it took ONE PEDIGREE to put away booker t.
If HHH had done the right thing and put over Booker T this Wrestlemania would be rated a lot of higher. I remember that HHH burying Booker T so badly really pissed off a lot of people and as a result WM19 didn't get the credit it deserved. It's a shame because it was a great show. i was in the military and deployed during this mania. they were showing it in the rec tent. the place was packed. people who havent watched wrestling in decades were there. a near riot broke during the rock/hogan match. then once the match was over. everyone left. only the hardcore fans like myself, stayed for y2j/hhh match.

The reason Booker didnt win the Title is because this match didnt have Enough build up To it since the original plan was HHH vs scott Steiner but because of lack of chemistry they finish their feud at No Way Out and then they Made a rushed number one contender battle royal which Booker won to try to build him as a threat which because of lack of time wasnt enough to get him the title
I remember this card very very well the same with 17 Wrestlemania X Seven from an a storytelling spectacle standpoint I liked it The TLC match was great at that show. Rock & Austin got 30 minutes at 17 & beat the crap out of each other. HHH & Taker was good decent match with Angle & He Who we will not speak of. 17 is epic XIX is nearly 4 of great in ring work & rivals 17 I'll have to see it again 1 of these day when I get to 2003.
The bad part is Brock could have successfully hit the Shooting Star Press if he dragged Kurt Angle closer to him before he went up. I always dub that botch The Shooting Star Headbutt.
Just because the second half of the show show good doesn't make the whole ppv good. The tag title and womens title matches weren't that great they felt that they were put together at the last minute with no real interesting or exciting feuds going into those matches. Compare those matches (especially the tag title match) to the ones at WM 17 and they were pretty boring. The only reason you seems to dislike WM 17 was because of what happened to WCW and ECW at that time, which is a pretty weak reason.
craigh257 the gimmick battle royal? or maybe Chyna vs Ivory? Test vs Eddie felt underwhelming and Tazz and the APA vs The RTC was nothing good either. Not saying 17 was a bad show but still it had flaws too. IMO HBK vs Y2J, Rock vs Austin 3, Hulk Hogan vs Vince, Brock vs Angle, and HHH vs Booker T at WrestleMania 19 was better all round matches than Angle vs Benoit, Rock vs Austin 2, Undertaker vs HHH, TLC 2, and Jericho vs Regal from WrestleMania 17. They are 2 of the best WrestleMania's of all time though
Rock was originally supposed to face Goldberg. And Austin was supposed to face triple h that’s what I’ve heard. Don’t know if it’s true or not. Goldberg wasn’t ready to compete in time so they ended up doing rock and Austin part 3 instead. And hunter ended up facing booker instead.

Booker shouldve won. hhh was given the cena treatment at that time
Booker T winning against HHH wasn't going to achieve anything. HHH was the top heel in the company at that point, it made no sense to drop the belt to Booker. Plus, if Booker had won the title, he was most likely going to drop it back to Triple H the next PPV so what's the point. Booker T wasn't buried at WM by Triple H, it didn't make any sense to me for him to win the title at that time.
thetoon99 HHH was the top heel in the company. And back then Booker T was kind of still viewed as a WCW guy by the company. He wasn't going to beat Triple H in a match that wasn't an important match anyway. That was a mid card feud even though it was for the title. It just didn't make sense to me.
WM19 has always been a bit overrated to me tbh. The show was a complete failure money wise (still the lowest bought WM in since 13 despite all the star power) & the build was terrible. I remember even as a kid not giving a fuck going into the show. Also Rock vs Austin had zero purpose to be on the show (it was played out by this point) and was as basic of a match between the 2 that you can get....Not a horrible show.....but not even close to being the greatest.
People need to know the actual definition of burial when it comes to the wrestling business. What happened to Booker T was NOT a burial. He was in the main event on Mania and lost. That isn't a burial, its WWE trying and failing to make a top good guy in Booker. Fast forward to 2007 and there he is with the title, "burying" other good guys that WWE didn't know what to do with. A real burial would be straight up not having him on Mania at all but still making him do TV and House shows.
You say that this was a really good show but spend most of this review saying negative things about it. It was more than just nitpicking. Seems like lots of people are abit blinded by nostalgia when it comes to this WrestleMaina. You hated the Taker match just because it was all about Nathan Jones at the end? god forbid it wasn't all about Taker. I hated that match and feud because it was so underwhelming.
And WWE made the right move having HHH win over Booker T,nobody needed to see that midcard comedy act be WHC,hell even Kevin Nash deserved the WHC more than Booker T.Like Cody Rhodes said back in 2011,the only time Booker T was WCW Champion was AFTER everyone stopped watching WCW.

This was the last WrestleMania without John Cena......after that, it all goes down hill.

In every single polls wrestlemania has always been ranked in the second place,behind the 17th.I disagree.WM X-7 was awesome not any doubts but I actually think WRESTLEMANIA 19 was better.The only two mistake were the match between Undertaker and Big show and A Train,and the results of BOOKER T VS HHH.
I think WrestleMania 14, and 10 are the best WrestleMania's out of the '90s, WrestleMania X8, 19, 24 are the best (in my opinion) were the best WrestleMania's in the 2000's, WrestleMania 26, best WrestleMania out of the 2010's. Those to me are the best WrestleMania's in each decade, didn't really care for the '80s ones.

This is an under rated mania. The running theme during this show was the finishers. It took 3 rock bottoms to beat Austin. It took 3 F5s to beat angle. It 3 leg drops to beat Vince. But it took ONE PEDIGREE to put away booker t.

If HHH had done the right thing and put over Booker T this Wrestlemania would be rated a lot of higher. I remember that HHH burying Booker T so badly really pissed off a lot of people and as a result WM19 didn't get the credit it deserved. It's a shame because it was a great show. Dat HHH ego ruining shows over and over again. Arrogant prick that he is.

This is one of the greatest WrestleMania ever.
i was in the military and deployed during this mania. they were showing it in the rec tent. the place was packed. people who havent watched wrestling in decades were there. a near riot broke during the rock/hogan match.
then once the match was over. everyone left. only the hardcore fans like myself, stayed for y2j/hhh match.
I personally I believe WM 19 is the best of all time. I look at the card and WM 19 and believe was better

The reason Booker didnt win the Title is because this match didnt have Enough build up To it since the original plan was HHH vs scott Steiner but because of lack of chemistry they finish their feud at No Way Out and then they Made a rushed number one contender battle royal which Booker won to try to build him as a threat which because of lack of time wasnt enough to get him the title
I remember this card very very well the same with 17 Wrestlemania X Seven from an a storytelling spectacle standpoint I liked it The TLC match was great at that show. Rock & Austin got 30 minutes at 17 & beat the crap out of each other. HHH & Taker was good decent match with Angle & He Who we will not speak of. 17 is epic XIX is nearly 4 of great in ring work & rivals 17 I'll have to see it again 1 of these day when I get to 2003.
The bad part is Brock could have successfully hit the Shooting Star Press if he dragged Kurt Angle closer to him before he went up. I always dub that botch The Shooting Star Headbutt.

Just because the second half of the show show good doesn't make the whole ppv good. The tag title and womens title matches weren't that great they felt that they were put together at the last minute with no real interesting or exciting feuds going into those matches. Compare those matches (especially the tag title match) to the ones at WM 17 and they were pretty boring. The only reason you seems to dislike WM 17 was because of what happened to WCW and ECW at that time, which is a pretty weak reason.
craigh257 the gimmick battle royal? or maybe Chyna vs Ivory? Test vs Eddie felt underwhelming and Tazz and the APA vs The RTC was nothing good either. Not saying 17 was a bad show but still it had flaws too. IMO HBK vs Y2J, Rock vs Austin 3, Hulk Hogan vs Vince, Brock vs Angle, and HHH vs Booker T at WrestleMania 19 was better all round matches than Angle vs Benoit, Rock vs Austin 2, Undertaker vs HHH, TLC 2, and Jericho vs Regal from WrestleMania 17. They are 2 of the best WrestleMania's of all time though
they should have made Jones Taker's tag partner for this show would have made sense

And Austin was supposed to face triple h that’s what I’ve heard. Don’t know if it’s true or not.
Goldberg wasn’t ready to compete in time so they ended up doing rock and Austin part 3 instead.
And hunter ended up facing booker instead.

It seems to me why ppl love 17 is mainly rock and stone cold which is bogus. If only one match is talked abt in my opinion that would be a failure. I enjoyed the match but that's all that stood out. everything else was mediocre. I agree 19 is by far my favorite and and one of the best. except for the taker match and booker. Booker shouldve won. hhh was given the cena treatment at that time
I always felt that Kurt Angle was Brock Lesnar's greatest opponent.
I thought the HHH vs booker world title match was boring tho just seemed to drag and the result was so damn predictable!
Booker T winning against HHH wasn't going to achieve anything. HHH was the top heel in the company at that point, it made no sense to drop the belt to Booker. Plus, if Booker had won the title, he was most likely going to drop it back to Triple H the next PPV so what's the point. Booker T wasn't buried at WM by Triple H, it didn't make any sense to me for him to win the title at that time.

HHH was the top heel in the company. And back then Booker T was kind of still viewed as a WCW guy by the company. He wasn't going to beat Triple H in a match that wasn't an important match anyway. That was a mid card feud even though it was for the title. It just didn't make sense to me.
Well Booker can play both a good face and heel, he could have turned easily to feud with Goldberg.

WM19 has always been a bit overrated to me tbh. The show was a complete failure money wise (still the lowest bought WM in since 13 despite all the star power) & the build was terrible. I remember even as a kid not giving a fuck going into the show. Also Rock vs Austin had zero purpose to be on the show (it was played out by this point) and was as basic of a match between the 2 that you can get....Not a horrible show.....but not even close to being the greatest.
You can't use a low buy rate against a show as a fault, commercial success doesn't equate to high quality.
Neither is 17 its just people living through rose colored nostalgia to say that Mania was completely perfect

People need to know the actual definition of burial when it comes to the wrestling business. What happened to Booker T was NOT a burial. He was in the main event on Mania and lost. That isn't a burial, its WWE trying and failing to make a top good guy in Booker. Fast forward to 2007 and there he is with the title, "burying" other good guys that WWE didn't know what to do with.
A real burial would be straight up not having him on Mania at all but still making him do TV and House shows.
You say that this was a really good show but spend most of this review saying negative things about it. It was more than just nitpicking. Seems like lots of people are abit blinded by nostalgia when it comes to this WrestleMaina. You hated the Taker match just because it was all about Nathan Jones at the end? god forbid it wasn't all about Taker. I hated that match and feud because it was so underwhelming.

And WWE made the right move having HHH win over Booker T,nobody needed to see that midcard comedy act be WHC,hell even Kevin Nash deserved the WHC more than Booker T.Like Cody Rhodes said back in 2011,the only time Booker T was WCW Champion was AFTER everyone stopped watching WCW.
