I still am of the notion that every 10th anniversary of Mania should be at the Garden. In that, WWE would pay respect to their heritage, history, and the fans.
+Rex Brown Even if its not at MSG, they should have had WrestleMania back in New York for Wrestlemania 30. I don't understand why they had WrestleMania 29 at MetLife instead of WrestleMania 30, it really makes no sense. But then again, in the WWE what does.
After this review series we need a top 10 best and worst shows and matches in Wrestlemania history. For the shows, you could even rate them 1-30. It would be awesome. If you want incentive to do it Schleg, people love those top 10 lists. Do it before Watchmojo does it.
I don't believe I'll ever truly be able to watch this show, and more specifically the ending, without feeling incredibly sad. Benoit has been my all-time favorite since I began watching sometime in 02/03 (I can't place where I started, it's all a blur) and finally seeing him win the big one over HHH and HBK was just breath-taking. Truly amazing.. And now, it's nothing but sadness.
I thought the Tag Title matches where decent enough. Jericho/Christian was an great match. Nott the best match of the night but a good mid card non title match. The Evolution/Rock and Sock Connection was a great handicap match. The Goldberg/Lesnar match was so bad my copy of WrestleMania XX wouldn't play it. It kept breaking up so I had to skip the match. Eddie vs Angle was a fantastic match. didn't like all the mat based stuff at the start but then they kicked it up notch. It was a great display by both men and the ending was really good. Taker's entrance for the match against Kane is still Takers best entrance IMO. The match though could of being so much shorter. HHH/HBK/Benoit is IMO the greatest World Title match at WrestleMania, bar none. Fantastic match. Nothing was wrong with it. All three delivered.
WrestleMania 20 has my favorite main even EVER!!! I feel your pain, I felt that same way you did with Benoit. I was so happy back but now it's really sad :(
I can't believe it's been 10 years since I saw this Mania and this was my first WrestleMania. I wish WrestleMania 30 was in Madison Square Garden but yea.
WM 20 was the official end of the attitude era. benoit and guerrero would never be on top or as hot again. stone cold and goldberg would never be heard from again in wrestling. the rock was off to hollywood. Lesner would make the biggest mistake of his life by not staying in the WWE he could have been the man for the next 10 to 15 years and because of that they forced cena (who was a fan favorite at the time) into an overbearing face. By summers end the PG was slowly starting to take effect and the benoit death years later hastened the process. The WWE has yet to regain it's attitude level popularity and never will til they go to an edgy PG style like the 80's and early 90's.
actually WM 17 was the end of THEATTITUDE ERA because then it was the RUTHLESS AGGRESION ERA The Rock didnt officially leave WWE until 03 to officially pursue his Hollywood carrer and lefy then made some apperences was at this mania and wasnt back to 27 and was at Hall Of Fame for mania 24
Ooh mixed feelings about WM XX watching it then - and talk about it now. I was very hot for it like the Garden was, Cena and the Giant was a good kick off, The Ayatollah&Christian was good, the 3 on 2 Handicap was ok, Goldberg & Lesnar nearly killed it, The Hall of Fame Class was great, Eddie and Angle was very good, Taker's return was Epic (no one cared about the Match), After watching Chris Benoit for 11 years, i thought he did it, I can never watch it again.
I understand his fear in the main event because I felt the same about Benoit maybe NOT winning so in the match I was like MAN BENOIT HAS TO WIN THIS. When Benoit took Michaels out of the ring and then Triple H was ready to deliver his pedigree I was like "Man this can't be happening" and then the Crossface happen. What a moment for me.
Im not sure if I agree with your opinion of Lesnar v Goldberg. Cole/Lawler may have been a worse match, not sure. Austin was ref then, too. Hmm... seeing a trend here.
Cena was over then because he wasn't stale, he was brand new and people like new things, now he's stale as crappy, and has a lot crappier gimmick than what he had in 2004...
the greatest triple threat happened at this wm. hbk vs hhh vs the air. with the air going over. man i really wish this wm20, 21, and 22 were held in stadiums these were held in famous arenas instead but a stadium crowd for 20 21 and 22 coulda benefited. of course starting from 23 they did only stadiums. but i dont get they had wms 19 18 etc all in stadiums it was a weird decision to go back to arenas for 20, 21 and 22
Wait are you telling me Goldber vs Lesnar was worse than Chavo Guerrero vs Kane for the ECW Title at WM 24 & Sheamus vs Daniel Bryan for the WH Title at WM 28
Yet another overrated WrestleMania (especially by fans these days).......not bad but not all that good. It is a 12 match card with 4 maybe 5 good matches......so basically for every good match about 2 of them should were garbage. Granted it probably had the best 3 way in WWE history (kind of a shame Benoit pissed that match and the ending away, but I could still watch it from time to time).
Your camera is flipping out. It keeps flipping the white balance between orange and green, which is very distracting. You badly need a new camera. It doesn't matter what computer you are using. Go on Amazon and spend $50 on a USB HD webcam, you cheapskate. 720p. Get with the times.
You can feel the pain in his voice when he talks about chris Benoit

john gleason That's true. 29 should've been the Superdome.
I still call bullshit. WrestleMania should be held in MSG every ten years, no matter what Vince thinks is "best for business".
My 2nd favorite wrestlemania of all time after 19

Rock n' Sock vs Evolution was a fun match if nothing else. And the right guys were put over.
The audio cut out at the very end.

Re-view Film what was the reason? I still don't understand

Loved the Jericho/Christian buildup match and post match angle

How did Brock make a huge mistake he makes millions now and went to become the biggest draw in ufc smh
purplecity2714 your right but I think he could have saved us from the cena era and WWE MIGHT be in a better place if he had stayed.
actually WM 17 was the end of THEATTITUDE ERA because then it was the RUTHLESS AGGRESION ERA The Rock didnt officially leave WWE until 03 to officially pursue his Hollywood carrer and lefy then made some apperences was at this mania and wasnt back to 27 and was at Hall Of Fame for mania 24
Da'Shaun Stazzola the ra era didn't start until after wm 18
yeah but you could start see the RA style comeing into play in style

I liked this show, at the time I was really hyped for this show
OH GOD BROCK VS GOLDBERG IS HORRIBLE!!!!
Actually the build up to Brock Lesnar vs Goldberg started at survivor series 2003. You forgot to mention in that review.
Can u review the great American bash 2004?
I got my WrestleMania 20 dvd signed by Chavo Guerrero last Friday, along with Survivor Series 2002 aswell.
Fuck you
The after math of the this wrestlemania was a tragedy. We lost Brock Goldberg, rock and Austin. Then we get cena, orton, and jbl and champ😫😫
Im not sure if I agree with your opinion of Lesnar v Goldberg. Cole/Lawler may have been a worse match, not sure. Austin was ref then, too. Hmm... seeing a trend here.

"hey u got HHH there" .........LOL

I would've thought you was ganna say the 4th reason going into it was Brock Lesnar vs Goldberg.
Wait are you telling me Goldber vs Lesnar was worse than Chavo Guerrero vs Kane for the ECW Title at WM 24 & Sheamus vs Daniel Bryan for the WH Title at WM 28
Goin off of storyline, anticipation & knowin wat those 2 guys coulda done in the ring, hell yea thats the worst Wrestlemania match in history.!
Micheal Cole vs Jerry the King Lawler was the worst match

Undertaker Vs Rock vs Kurt Angle is better triple threat.
