It is incredible to me how well documented F-zero gx records and history is, I'm glad this community is as passionate as it is, I'm finding about all of this just now in 2023. Hopefully this game will gain even more recognition in the future despite the lack of official support

is there a central place where the records for individual tracks is kept? I tried googling but I had trouble finding one that's comprehensive or up-to-date
The longest standing world record in F Zero GX history is Mad Andy’s snaking record on mute city sonic oval, which stood for 10 years, but since we’re talking about Max speed, it kinda invalidates that, but that record was absolutely insane, it was only beaten just two years ago by Snaking598, another insane Japanese player who specializes in snaking, and is imo the only person who can run their fade with CGN in the snaking category💀
It gains a small amount of speed from quick turning even when it's at max speed setting. Some people don't consider a legitimate choice for max speed because of that
