Them having Dorns geneseed makes sense considering Mr. "NO" himself was resistant to chaos like no one's business. Dude straight up heard Khorne talking to him and said "I will now infodump about my hyperfixation" and then DID I also find it funny most of our outside lore for them comes from Shadowbreaker, as well as the Death Spectors
I've always thought of it as the same sort of thing the Emperor did for the Primarch's on a smaller scale. Steal some warp denizen, dump it in a body, purge all the undesirable bits.
Like with many other things in WH40K, I really wish they did more with the Exorcist as the concept alone allows for a lot of interesting stories. For example, there was a novella where the idea was that one of the Exorcists allowed himself to be captured and tortured by a Chaos cult to create a trap for the demon they worshipped.
Another one for the pile lol. That is a great point and a dope story concept honestly. Exorcists as an idea have a lot of versatility which would be great if GW used any of it lmao. Cause they can work really well as protags or just a singular character in a story.
@@glueboy If you are curious about it, rest assured it was really short. I think about 20 pages. The name of it is The Empty Place. It is also kind of a neat because there is a segment there that explores the initial possession from a demon's point of view.
I'm gonna have to track that down then, thats an easy read lol. Just gotta grab the anthology its in. And its even funnier with the idea of hitting the daemon perspective. My immediate thought was a really funny fanfic of all things where Tzeentch plays chess against Creed of all things. Just that "Yes yes! This foolish mortal... wait whats going on? Uh oh" Which is the exact vibe I love that the Exorcists hit.
@@glueboy The anthology it is in was pretty strong overall. It also had the Wolfspear short story that makes reading the wiki entry for that Chapter just hilarious.
Damn, I never knew the Exorcists were Imperial Fist stock. I was under the impression they were a secret Grey Night splinter chapter, not sure where I heard that though. Also the line at 8:34, "there's a chance something bad might happen to you" did NOT prepare me for the absolute horror of becoming a permanent daemon prison. That makes a servitor's life look like a trip to the tropics. One last thing, I feel like I blinked and you passed 5k subs, when did that happen?
They used to be more Grey Knight! As someone who doesnt like Grey Knights... I'm not upset at the change lol. And yeah, the whole Broken One thing is probably one of the more darker parts of lore I've read recently. Like holy shit man. Good job failing the trials you're now a human pokeball, but in a horribly painful way lmao. And incredibly recently lol. I'm suprised every time when I see this shit pop off.
Oh hey if you do move away from space marine could you please cover the different ways eldar use the warp and wraith bone both in warfare and day-to-day please
It’s hilarious how they still kinda have their demons hangin around with them, and just tell them to fuck off when they’re annoying lol it’s great

Man, your passionate takes remind me of early arthur bones40k videos. Keep up the good work because there is a market for good lore breakdowns
Bones40k is a dope dude! Appreciate it.
The Exorcists’ war cry should be “Infernus est in aeternum.”

Genuinely proud of it lol. Was a goofy idea I came up with right when I started working on the video.
Having your Gal Vorbak cake and eating it too.
This was great, love the videos keep it up man!
The Exorcist remind me of that one part in Bill and Ted Bogus Adventure where they possess Ted’s Dad lmao “Dude, I like totally possessed my dad” 😅
They make you into a Space Marine Lich!
EXOOOOOOOOOOOORCISTS!!!!!! FUCK YEAH!!!
Getting away from Space Marines? Well I can recommend Eldar Corsairs and Tempestus Scions for you next video. Or Rough Riders.
Oh hey if you do move away from space marine could you please cover the different ways eldar use the warp and wraith bone both in warfare and day-to-day please
please do a Tau subfaction video
I should... Tau and Eldar are my 40k blind spot lol
Could a dreadnought cross the rubicon
Only if they do it before they get tossed into a Dread. Then theres a special suit for primaris dreadnoughts specifically.
Nice shirt 👍
wait, I thought they were Word Bearers?
Iirc there are no successor chapters from WB geenseede
@@NovaSoldier Not until recently anyway. Who knows what Cawl pulled
@@KillerOrca i choose to belive that the primaris dont exist, its just an upgrade in armor
