Or Sisters doing a spearhead assassination on a weirdboy or psychic warboss durring a larger assault. Which is just more of the part that how they're currently written, their role is side characters. And I want them to have the chance to be the main characters lol. Also I am now curious how blanks affect orks. I'll have to see if its been mentioned. I know their collective belief power isnt as powerful as its often talked about. But imagine how sad some Speed Freeks would get that their red bikes are slower lmao.

Personally, I love how the Silent Sisters complement the Custodes; both hands of the Emperor, one to fight the mortal terrors, the other to silence the arcane. I’m still disappointed in recent decisions as of late in regard to plot developments (we all know what I’m talking about…), if only for perpetuating the meme of the Sisters continually getting shafted by absolutely everything. I’m still hoping we get another Watchers novel, if only to show where the money really is.
I adore how the Sisters and Custodes work together too. I would love to see it stronger if Sisters had a bit more too them though. But if that comes at the cost of destroying that work relationship? I'd be pretty upset.

I absolutely hated the writers for not only killing off Jenetia Krole, but also the way in which they did it. On the rare occasions we DO get a well written and genuinely OP woman in Warhammer, they always kill them off or just nurf them completely. At least Saint Celestine and Commander Shadowsun seem safe for now.... but I expect they will be killed or Nurfed at some point too.

Be it for books, or models. An HH character like Krole... not the same level of treatment. Every HH character save for Primarch or Space Marine was gonna die off in some way. If in some small chance they *do* get killed off or shoved aside, its gonna be in the Creed fashion. Immediately replaced by someone they're gonna try and sell as better or cooler. In this instance though its just good to view 40k as both a product to make money, as well as a large story with lots of authors. From what authors have said, many story decisions have come down to model sales.

Are there also elite positions for male blanks? or maybe there are just far fewer male blanks 3. Silly thought: If chaos in the warp are the main bad guys, wouldn't it be beneficial to either encourage blanks to procreate as much as possible or somehow mass-produce blanks, filling humanity with blanks, weakening the warp?

Paraphrased quote from custodes 9th codex. But its a cultural thing largely with how its treated. 2. Not in the sisters. They can find elite positions in Inquitor groups or in the Assassinorum. The Culexus specifically. 3. Because most just don't know what a blank is. And the Imperium wont disseminate that cause it would mean telling people that Chaos exists. Which is a bad idea. 4. Old lore hints at Eldar blanks but rn it looks like there are no blanks in Eldar society. Honestly, my money is on the fact that their might have been a long ass time ago. And then they were killed. Theres some hints at that too with Eldar stating they disaprove of humans allowing Blanks to live in the first place.

It seems being silent makes blanks supernaturally stealthy due to just mind willing to put itself in denial of their painful presence. Then of course in the tabletop rules you might notice - in a meta fashion - it's not there
I'd want to read something about them not as warriors but as personalities. How do they experience emotions? Do they experience romantic, familial or platonic affection? How do they see other SoS compared to non-nulls? Probably, I want a slice of life novel about them, ahaha. Anyways, BL authors should write more about characters' inner worlds, feelings and their relationships (not necessarily romantic).
Black Library does do all that, at least the good books do. Depends on the book. I'm into the ones that have more plot or meat on it and less dumb action scenes. And blanks can feel all of that. The problem is they are deprived of it in their life. Due to that effect on regular people they have. If you want the best look at how shit being a blank is read the Eisenhorn trilogy. Theres a depressing af blank you meet very early in those books.

I hope to! Main issue is space. Better visuals like lighting is a space issue. My current place isnt big enough for a perfect green screen setup. So I gotta work with basic lights, editing tricks, and a nice handheld mic. Cause the only way I can upgrade my stuff further if I wanna go handheld is by getting a really nice standing mic. There is a lav ceiling. Though tbh I also like the vibe of the handheld? Its content I watch already on youtube actually lol. If its hard to tell, I'm a film student lol. I've put some thought into this. I plan to keep upgrading as it becomes more and more successful.

I think a Sisters of Silence Kill Team would be cool and could be interesting in a story or part of a story where some sort of pirates (I'd go with Orks or Dark Eldar) attacking the Black Ships operated by the Sisters of Silence.
The way i would do a story where they fight Necrons: _they were not there to fight Necrons_ They show up to deal with some rogue Word Bearers, but then the planet turns out to be a tomb world or something. Or, they beat the Word Bearers; story starts right afterwords. Its was a fairly simple win but they are still tired and hurting-BAM, Orks show up.

Personally disagree. Its too tied into their identity and I doubt it would ever be something GW would do. Mainly with how much effort they've put in to potray Thoughtform as legit sign language. That and they already do have methods to get around the non-speaking stuff. Asperants who translate and tech that does it on the fly. If anything I can only see them adding units to the faction that can speak and translate. So it isnt just asperants.
The Voice short story is just one example in lore that blanks have souls. And its a specific plot point/twist that everyone believes they don't. Large part because of the Eldar saying that. So when (spoilers) a Sister of Silence sold her soul to daemons, it was hard to believe. They didn't think that was possible in the first place, but nah she had a soul to exchange. Based on all the evidence in lore, it only ends in the fact that Blanks have souls. And the souless belief is one born out of prejudice from psychic based species.

Lol you happened to catch me on a lunch break. And yeah, I imagine its mostly a timeline thing. SoS being mainly HH until recently and SoB popping up later. Only now is the chance they can interact. And SoS just isnt that big so the likelihood of a notable encounter isnt that large. I hope we get more though.

Sister's of silence should just be an attachment of the Sister's of Battle/Costodes interface sect... I mean honestly what more IS there too them that can be explored? They're anti-Psykers... that's it. That's what they do... and there's even already a Sister's of Battle regiment that don't talk much so even... I honestly don't know what more you can really do with them in the same way you can with other factions. They're more like a specialized unit OF a faction.

The entire idea of them works well as a specialized unit or highly trained 'spec ops' with a specialized usage and execution... I honestly don't think there's enough you can do with the concept of anti-psykers to warrant an entire faction of them (and do we really need ANOTHER all female 'Sisters of' faction?) I think they're fine as is, just make them viable as units in a few different factions and they can both get more play, and be involved in more stories.
Thoughtmark is actually pretty hilarious when reading in books as they are just having these bizarrely complicated discussions with a few gestures and in less time than it would take to speak them out. Especially in the Wraight books they really went overboard on it. Also, I will say that I liked The Emperor's Legion, but it was just scattered as hell and was already straining with the Valoris problem. I'd actually the bigger problem narratively with the Sisters of Silence is how much they thematically overlap with the Sisters of Battle, who in turn are already much more established faction. Also the Silent Sisters are currently so tightly tied into the Custodes, who in turn themselves are struggling to stand out in stories as characters. So the end result is not exactly thrilling.
Overlap with the other Sisters who then as a faction can be significantly more flexible story wise. So one feels like an easier choice to throw front and center. Which they do, Sisters of Battle have a lot of books and shit put out about them. I say this lovingly, cause I also like them a lot lol. Also big agree on that part about their Custodes pair up. The intention seems to be more like 2 groups that work really well together. The result hits more like Sisters of Silence are just the best faction of side characters ever.
I would love to see the sisters of silence to be confirmed bio-enhanced some how, which is why they are all women, because the enhancements don't work with male blanks. As for them as a full army, less so interested, they work better as a support group, than a real army. Now a return of the Slann... (ie Lizardman army) yes please.
Making them talk would be the worst move possible. I don't think they'd do that in the first place though lol. They have the Sisters in training and thoughtmark translator tools to work around that.

The inverse of a psyker makes more sense because you have different sizes of the pariah effect for each cycle some are much stronger than others

An Inquisitor could arrange for SoS to enter conflict with a division of T'au they know to include Ethereals just to see how and if they affect them.

I dont understand why we dont see Sisters of battle making use of Blanks, they seem perfect for what the SoB mostly like to fight.
Had to double check but turns out they've had next to no in book encounters. Except for Plague Wars. Though would get real goofy when Celestine or their other "totally not warp stuff its pure faith trust us" powers get fucked up by the SoS lmao

And yeah, I imagine its mostly a timeline thing. SoS being mainly HH until recently and SoB popping up later. Only now is the chance they can interact. And SoS just isnt that big so the likelihood of a notable encounter isnt that large. I hope we get more though.

Sister's of silence should just be an attachment of the Sister's of Battle/Costodes interface sect... I mean honestly what more IS there too them that can be explored? They're anti-Psykers... that's it. That's what they do... and there's even already a Sister's of Battle regiment that don't talk much so even... I honestly don't know what more you can really do with them in the same way you can with other factions. They're more like a specialized unit OF a faction.
Thats my point at the end. They're limited when I think thats unintended by the writers. I'd love to see them fix that in the future somehow.
@@glueboy I guess what I mean to say is I don't know what else they even COULD do with them. I don't think they are a concept that works as a 'faction'. The entire idea of them works well as a specialized unit or highly trained 'spec ops' with a specialized usage and execution... I honestly don't think there's enough you can do with the concept of anti-psykers to warrant an entire faction of them (and do we really need ANOTHER all female 'Sisters of' faction?)
I think they're fine as is, just make them viable as units in a few different factions and they can both get more play, and be involved in more stories.

Thoughtmark is actually pretty hilarious when reading in books as they are just having these bizarrely complicated discussions with a few gestures and in less time than it would take to speak them out. Especially in the Wraight books they really went overboard on it. Also, I will say that I liked The Emperor's Legion, but it was just scattered as hell and was already straining with the Valoris problem.
I'd actually the bigger problem narratively with the Sisters of Silence is how much they thematically overlap with the Sisters of Battle, who in turn are already much more established faction. Also the Silent Sisters are currently so tightly tied into the Custodes, who in turn themselves are struggling to stand out in stories as characters. So the end result is not exactly thrilling.
Overlap with the other Sisters who then as a faction can be significantly more flexible story wise. So one feels like an easier choice to throw front and center. Which they do, Sisters of Battle have a lot of books and shit put out about them. I say this lovingly, cause I also like them a lot lol. Also big agree on that part about their Custodes pair up. The intention seems to be more like 2 groups that work really well together. The result hits more like Sisters of Silence are just the best faction of side characters ever.
I would love to see the sisters of silence to be confirmed bio-enhanced some how, which is why they are all women, because the enhancements don't work with male blanks.
As for them as a full army, less so interested, they work better as a support group, than a real army.
