great techniques, especially the bonus. I need to use my sewing machine more. One tip I have is the Dollar Tree sells a small Cricut Joy mat and it's sticky, it works great for holding down cardstock for many different techniques. I have one in my Misti and my Tim Holtz stamping platform too.
For a grip mat, hands down, the ultra sticky stampwheel mat from altenew is the best for ink blending! Waffle flower has a similar mat but it's not quite as sticky. And when they loose their stick over time, you can just wash it with water and it's sticky again. Both companies mats are made from photo polymer btw... I hope this helps you in the future ❤❤❤
Excellent video. Very talented lady!! Will only use the distress line of inks and archrivals. Love the Ranger line. Haven't tried those sprays, but just may. Laughed about "don't know how to re-thread" the sewing machine. I use my old, heavy straight stitch machine. But, like you, I need to have it at-the-ready to really want to do it. Love the picture of the sleeping crafter - hilarious. Keep the big Phaff machine for REAL sewing (yes God gave me too many talents). Loved the video - great tips kiddo. As before - God gave you some amazing talents too. Thank you for using your Christian sayings and such. Our world needs more of them right now.
You had me in tears. LOL. 6 hours to figure out what to do with it! Lazy to get the sewing machine out! Don't know how to re-thread the machine! That's me!😂 My biggest regret was not learning more about sewing. My mother was the expert and anything me or my sisters needed she took care of it. Fixing holes in jeans, hemming you name it. Her list of talent could go on forever and not just sewing talent. But yeah, I had to find on UA-cam to re-thread, especially the bobbin. Great tips today..TY
I love the Waffle flower grip mat for everything but blending ink over card stock. Great for stencils and pretty much anything I need for the paper to stay put. But for ink blending I use the Tim Holtz grip stuff. I have it cut to the various card panel sizes I use and just slap it down on my glass mat. The paper stays out but I still get the glide from glass to paper. 200% agree paper matters for ink blending. I use oxides and tried every tool on the planet. Cheap one. Spendy ones. NOTHING worked until I switched paper. Voila! Problems solved.
For a grip mat, I cut down one of green mats for my Cricut. I had an extra set because mats weren't listed as coming with my Critcut so I bought a set that arrived before the machine did.☮💜🌞
Oh, my goodness! That is why I don’t sew! I don’t know how to thread my machine! LOL. Thank you for your reminders of these techniques! Love watching you create and listening to you. You are so real! Thank you!
I love all the forgotten techniques. I often forget to use all my oxide products, so thank you for the reminder. I love the white ink over the top of the embossing too.
The best grip mat for holding paper and especially small die cuts for inking is waffleflower grip mats. The 6.5”x8.5” will fit in all stamp positioners too! Must have!
I am going to use my gel plate. I forget all of these techniques. I'm going to just have fun in my craft room. This has been so helpful.I saved my old sewing machine to sew on paper--so I need to do this.
FABULOUS ideas - as usual, Tiffany❣ You’ve definitely inspired me to “shop my stash” and dust off a few “oldie but goodie” techniques! ☺ Keep them coming my friend!
Amazing techniques! Can’t wait to try some. I use the Waffle Flower grip mat to hold down my cards for blending or a bigger piece of the Tim Holtz grip mat. I love the Christian sentiments- need to add more of those to my stash.
I LOVE the new Waffle Flower Grip Mats! I keep one in each Misti and now I can’t imagine blending without them. I love the colors you chose for your blending! And the embossing folder adds so much. Looking forward to watching more of your videos!
Hey, Tiffany, for me the Waffle Flower sticky mats (which came out this year, made from photopolymer) are an ABSOLUTE game changer! The hold without ripping, great with paper, stencils, even tiny die cuts. They do not loose their stick (like some of the others). I find they are well worth the investment (even factoring in the p&p to Germany and the customs charges which come on top!). Give them a try! Kind regards from Germany, Nicola
Great video, the mixed media card is gorgeous! Thanks for the reminders to use these techniques. I use makeup brushes from the Dollar Tree for ink blending.
I use the ultra sticky mat for Altenew's stampwheel. It's awesome for holding paper while I blend ink. I also found that cheap silicone mats for kitchen use will hold my ink still just as well as the more expensive Tim Holtz grip mat. And I can choose what color I want. :)
The waffle Flower grip mat holds your paper for ink blending. It’s photopolymer and fits in your Misti or Mini Misti but you can use it without them as well.
If only there were as many supplies for MY religion…. These techniques are cool! I really need a spray bottle - pretty basic but I always just forget about getting one when shopping! I sew on projects a lot - I’m mainly a seamstress after all!
I am enjoying the new WF silicone grip mats. I have several Misti’s and keep one in reg Misti and a smaller one in smaller Misti. I plan on purchasing another of the WF mats to use just for blending. I always love your splatters! Thanks for sharing great card techniques
Love your ink blending! I struggle with it but paper makes a HUGE difference. Thanks for the faith based sentiment s I have to go searching for mine! great job
Great reminders! I've never tried to sew on cardstock. Do I need to use a special needle? Or maybe keep one for card that I don't use on fabric? Do I use a long stitch length? I'll have to play around with this.
I only use my sewing machine for paper. I have heard that it will dull the needle. I am not a seamstress in any way so I have no idea. LOL. Thanks so much for watching!
I see the new ones now. I have had it for years. I thought that’s what it was advertised as. 🤷♀️ so many products they jumble together lol!!Thank you!!

Nope! I feel the same way. Sooo many techniques out there. MANY new techniques are creator mistakes... Mistakes that become worldwide techniques!...NOT MISTAKES!!!
Can u please tell me the name of the altenew EF u use on the first card. Dont c it under your supply list. Thanks. Love following u.. always really cool techniques and info!
Im not sure what my issues are but my ink blending is Yuck. May need better blending brushes and more ink on pads?? I so ok as edging oron envelope flaps etc.. More practice i guess. Love your videos.
@@Tiffany.Solorio Well, that’s what I thought, but then I read Justine’s and Laurel’s comments wherein they stated that they LIKED the WF grip map. R I G H T 🤔?!? I’m confused!! You said you’d had it for a while; could it have gotten dusty or something that made it loose its grip?
Great idea about forgotten techniques, but was disappointed to discover that this video and the others as well, are all over a year old. Your email came today promoting these videos....which to me, implied they were new. Not. so.
I use my Gelli plate as a grip mat to ink blend! The stickiness of the plate is perfection!!!
Thank you for the reminders. Lovely cards.

WF Grip Mat or the Altenew one both work for keeping it in place ;)

The same as you're using for the inkpads, Tim Holt's grip mat! Keeps it in place and washes clean easily :)
what she said. I love my TH grip mat
And you can cut it to hold tags and any other sized card you use.
And if you cut the pieces just a hair smaller than the card, you can keep the benefit of ink blending on a glass mat.
I bought myself a Singer Featherweight especially for sewing on my card projects. So easy to bring it onto my work table.
Agreed, use that same TH grip mat! Cut it up and put one part in stamp platform as well.
I agree - Altenew Ultra Sticky Mat is the best!
Thanks for the reminders!
The swiped with white is beautiful I need to try this ty for sharing.

I use the Wendy Vecchi Make Art Staytion or a magnetic glass mat to hold down the paper while ink blending… you just have to move the magnets around
These techniques are really interesting

The new waffle flower grip mat. Cheaper than the stamp wheel. Super grippy!

I have to say that the last card was not my favorite. But I did like the techniques you showed with the ink blending and embossing folders.

Beautiful card. What kind of sewing machine do you have?
I have wanted to incorporate sewing with my cards but not sure what needle to use. Can you tell me what you use? Love the sewing techniques!!
I just use a regular one. As long as the paper isn't too thick it works just fine. I hope that helps.
So you can't use the TH sticky for the inkpad and a smaller piece for the paper?
I tried it and it didn’t work that great.
