Oh you are just the queen of sprays!!! Nobody and I mean Nobody can create backgrounds like you Tiffany IMHO! I just printed out your 2024 color combos and I look so forward to your class later in the month! Thanks for sharing!!
Gorgeous tag, Tiffany! The micro-glaze truly brings out the richness of the colors. BTW, I use vinyl gloves when using the TH sprays because the inks wash off them easier than my hands, and I can reuse them.
Why, in heaven's name haven't I thought of this before??? This is absolutely brilliant!! I have myriad spray stains and oxides and have been searching for a way to "control them". Thank you so much!!! New sub here!
I did a mixed piece the other day that I loved but ruined with the spray. It came out too fast and heavy and covered too 23:24 much. I only wanted splatters. Now I know what to do. It's one of those duh moments. Awesome tag, colors are perfect. Love it.
Thank you so much Tiffany, I really really enjoyed watching you create this beautiful and uniquely stunning tag. I really really love ❤❤❤❤ it. You’re so clever and creative too. Please stay safe and well too xxxx Mags ❤❤❤❤
I love this! Great colour combination, stunning tag. So many different techniques and so well explained! Thank you Tiffany. I don't have any of those stamps but I want to try this tag so I will improvise with what I have.
I love your tag. I took your alcohol inks class and totally understand what your doing. I can't wait for your new class. I always learn SO much from you! Hugz ❤
I use a technique similar to this with my oxide sprays. I hate spraying the oxide directly on the substrate because I never get the effect I want with them. I only have a few of them for this reason. I love ‘painting with oxides’ using the bottom of the spray nozzle on top of paper ran through an embossing folder. It helps get the colors into all those nooks and crannies. I love the colors of your distress sprays. Have never seen tea dye used with the blues and the browns. Uncharted Mariner and Antique Linen are two of my favorite sprays. Can’t wait to try this with what colors I currently have.
Gorgeous as always, Tiffany! I love your straightforward, clear and uncomplicated teaching style. What do you do with your tags? I have a bunch of blank ones and I love the look of the when I see people work with them, but I don't know what I'd do with them when they're finished. Help?
Can you do the exact thing with oxide sprays? That’s what I have. Also have some dylusions. Wonder how that would be mixed with oxide sprays? Would it ruin it?
Uncharted mariner is seriously a beautiful color. I am loving it! And I love this video….well, I love all your videos, especially the ones with TH products. TFS and God bless you!
Are crafters intimidated by sprays because of the lack of control? You can also just use a paint brush. Same deal: spray onto nonporous surface and then pick up spray with a paint brush. Plop the color where you want it. Avoid swiping the plush around if you are trying to mimic spraying or dipping. Adding splatters helps it to look sprayed. The fear that has caused me to be tight with my art supplies is that if I mess up I will have wasted money. Sprays are around $8 a bottle now, right? It feels bad when I spend money and then feel as though I haven’t made anything of which I can be proud. But I think I have learned to turn this mindset around. Here’s what I tell myself when I start feeling like I am “wasting” my supplies: It is equally wasteful to leave my supplies sitting on a shelf until they go bad. If I use the supplies but I am displeased with the results, I have at least learned something. Think about how much we spend on education; humans clearly place a high value on knowledge. Using my supplies is a way to gain experiential knowledge. To cement the learning I either take a photo and attach notes or glue my “mistake” into my art journal and again make notes. I’m less consistent with making notes on my successes. Still a good idea though, because that “how did I make this” feeling isn’t so great. I haven’t been that jazzed about any of the hydrophilic ( rewetable) mediums for a long while, but I learned a new technique that makes it easier to “freeze” the look before adding additional layers. Coat the entire surface of your project with matte medium, but use a gel plate so the whole surface is covered at once. No brushing or rubbing means that dyes do not move. Make sure your piece is thoroughly dry before coating. Adding additional layers is typically easier over matte medium than over wax. You can add archival inks and pigment inks over the top of matte medium. You can heat emboss on top of matte medium too, just keep heat gun moving to avoid bubbling. Acrylic ink & paint also work. Colored pencils, pastels, and crayons too. If you want to add water based mediums, you will have to use an absorbent acrylic ground first. That can be added the same way as matte medium using a gel plate. The gel plate should be bigger than your surface so that you get edge to edge coverage in one fell swoop. I also want to recommend Karen Campbell and her hamburger 🍔 system. She has easy to understand videos on what mediums play well together and in what order to apply them.
Very simple!!!??? SAYS YOU! 😂🤣😅😅. Great lesson! Patience and "sticktoitness" seems to be the key. I always stop too soon. Thanks for another great example. ❤️
Patience is for sure needed.I know you can do it. I actually have a distress spray class coming up. It will cover basics of sprays and then we will take them to the next level by using different mediums. Here is the link. tiffanymsolorio.podia.com/basics-and-beyond-distress-spray-class
Beautiful colors. I was able to order 2 glass boards through your site because of the generous discount you offered. Thanks 😊 The glass mats came in about 2 days after ordering. I'm sooo pleased with them. I ordered the all white, but they shipped the flower one.(happy accident, I'm thrilled with the flowers) Thank you again.
Layering and the waiting time is hard to do. Your techniqe is lovely and you explaining is great. I have to practise more. Thank you for showing this!🥰
If you stamp over and don’t have archival, what can you use and how will it change it over oxide sprays or dylusions? I love your talent but I’m a pink, coral, yellow, aqua girl.
Wow!! ...just WOW!! You are really good and your tag is really cool. We've not met before but you were in my feed this morning and I'm so glad I stayed and watched. Long story short, you have a new subbie from the southern California desert! Hugs, MK 🤗🏜🤗
Ahhhmazing!!! So inspiring that I had to create a Halloween card half-way through your video with the smooshing technique you modeled! Absolutely LOVE this technique. I had put my sprays away and wasn't using them, but I just created a bunch of background panels that I use soon! Thx so much!
Really pretty! I'd like to ask a silly question, but I really would like to see it answered. I have seen this tags being decorated in youtube for years now, but I never understood what is the use of them after finished. What are they made for? Excuse my ignorance; I have been learning about these things in youtube but don't really know anyone who papercrafts in person.
I know my problem is that I don’t layer properly, inpatient I guess, but I don’t like the mess of spraying the ink, so this is going to be a great help
😂 I don't mind my inky fingers..... It comes off eventually LOL! Do you let the oxides dry for a good amount of time first? I am not sure I have used the glaze on oxides so I don't have any more tips. I'm sorry.

12:16 this looks like you're looking up from underwater! Like rays through the bubbles! It's so gorgeous!
This video alone not only sold me on sprays, it sold me on uncharted mariner - how fabulous!!

Would reinkers work similarly to the sprays?
I love this look. Thanks

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much for this video. It is really helpful. Love the tag! I'm gonna try this one out.
Great tip thank you, I just bought lots of Distress Stain sprays so I will definitely give it a try. 😀

Love those background colors! What a beautiful tag🤩
That background!!! 💕
If you stamp over and don’t have archival, what can you use and how will it change it over oxide sprays or dylusions? I love your talent but I’m a pink, coral, yellow, aqua girl.
Use clear embossing powder on the stamped image to preserve non archival inked images.

Gorgeous tag, Tiffany!!! Thank you for sharing 😁
I'm definitely going to spray on my mat now! Thanks for the tutorial. Happy 4th!
Good tips for using sprays! TFS the inspiration!
That is absolutely stunning!
I just found your channel, and so far I really like your videos; super helpful for a newbie like me!!
Thank you!
Beautiful! How do you get the sprays off your hands?
Great tag. Thank you for the tips.
That is awesome, such a great tag.
Fantastic Tag Tiffany. Loved the video.
How on earth did you get your fingers cleaned up again? 🤔
😂 LOL!!! I don't mind inky fingers. Thank you so much! I appreciate it!
Love your work. Great instructions & go for it attitude ❤
Thank you so much!

Love this. So beautiful.
Love your techniques! Thank you Tiffany! 🌷
Amazing tutorial, this might totally help me over my fear of the sprays!
Wow, so pretty!!! Great idea.
Thank you! 😊
Thank you for this helpful video.
J adore j adore, vous avez utilisez quelles couleur des encres en spray ? Merci poir votre réponse.
That came out beautiful! I haven't tried the sprays yet, is that tag made for this or can you use any yardstick?
The paper needs to be thick. Like watercolor or mixed media type of paper. I hope that helps.
Beautiful 🤩🤩🤩
Loved your video! Getting my tags out. I’ve had lack of space but this I can do! I can’t find your links and love that glass you used for your inks.
I’m new to this and love what you created. I have a question, what do you do to the back of the tag?
Thank you!! I don't do anything to is. I leave it blank.
Beautiful ❤
Wow !
Beautiful…. How do you clean your hands
Great tag and I LOVE the inky fingers :-)
Thank you so much! Inky fingers are the best!
Love the tag! Hey… I have the same 22 A Day bracelet…. Mine is from Til Valhalla. “ Veterans Lives Matter”.
Beautiful
Really pretty!
I'd like to ask a silly question, but I really would like to see it answered. I have seen this tags being decorated in youtube for years now, but I never understood what is the use of them after finished. What are they made for? Excuse my ignorance; I have been learning about these things in youtube but don't really know anyone who papercrafts in person.
No worries at all. I get this a lot actually. Sometimes I add them to the front of a card, or I give them instead of a card. I hope this helps some.
I know my problem is that I don’t layer properly, inpatient I guess, but I don’t like the mess of spraying the ink, so this is going to be a great help
Beautiful tag!
Tiffany, is brown expresso and pea die not available anymore? if so what would be
a good substitute?
Thanks!
Omg! Thank you so much! This is so sweet!! 🥰 I appreciate you!
Question....can non porous paper be molded, for example, shaping die cuts of flowers for cards.
Will this work with oxide spray, and I have the Dylushional sprays. This is amazing 😮
It sure will. You will get different results but oxides work too. I am not sure about the other sprays. Thank you!
What kind of paper or cardstock do you have to use for the sprays?
Gorgeous 😍
A close up of the finished tag would have been great for those of us watching on smaller screens.
Thanks for the feedback. If you have Instagram there are photos over there.
That 1st tag, looks like alcohol inks. So Beautiful!
Would the sprays work with the shaving foam technique?
Yes :) I have done this. Color comes out lighter than when using a reinker.
If you don’t mind clearing it. What is the difference between alcohol ink AND Distress ink
Awesome❣️
What are sprays acrylic or ink?
Two questions. How do you clean your hands? 😀
And, when I used the micro glaze it just smears everything. (I’m using Oxide Inks. Is that the problem?)
😂 I don't mind my inky fingers..... It comes off eventually LOL! Do you let the oxides dry for a good amount of time first? I am not sure I have used the glaze on oxides so I don't have any more tips. I'm sorry.
What do you do with these tags?
I would also like to know
I hang them in my office or I send them to friends instead of a card. I hope this helps.
Thank You!!
You are very welcome.
