this will officially be my first Pikmin game! so excited for this one, the demo felt so good and intuitive for me
For me too. Replaying the demo today to be ready on friday😀
@@denycast You've been missing out. They are awesome.
@@kannon0216main reason I haven’t played a Pikmin game before now is because all my Nintendo consoles have been handheld. From the gbc, gba, ds, 3ds and now switch lite
Perfect time to come aboard! If you’re not bothered by the story I’d say out of the three games, Pikmin 3 is the easiest, then Pikmin 1, and Pikmin 2 being the hardest. They’re all fantastic games and can really be played in any order outside of some minor story elements.
@@RachelXKnight666 You're in luck with how ALL pikmin games except for Hey pikmin are on Switch now :)
Its Pikmin. Its cheaper than therapy. Of course its worth it. 🤣😅
W
Odd, I needed therapy after Pikmin 2 😂
@@pillowpillowwpileated snagret in quicksand, and man at legs in the water will break a man. Hole of heroes was brutal😂
@@darcidious99don’t forget the waterwraith ;)
Yes
I barely even knew what Pikmin was two months ago, but the demo has convinced me to get it. I just love having a little army
Same, only played all 3 in the last month
The older games, as well as the Overlord series are great games for this ❤ Can't wait for Pikmin 4!
Full Game leaked a few days ago for us jacked switch owners. Its pretty good; a solid 8/10. Still prefer pikmen 3 though.
def gotta play the older ones! especially 2!
As a fan since the pikmin beginnings on Gamecube it makes me so happy to hear new player finding pikmin. Its crazy to me how this first party games feels like hidden gems, especially when its some of my favorite games of all time.
The annoying thing about the co-op removal, to me, is that the answer was right there. Let player 2 control the dog. They play differently enough that you would have a fantastic asymmetrical co-op.
I have to assume it's a hardware limitation, because the world and game is so much bigger than 3D's. There's no way they didn't try do it- feature was really well received in 3D, it was literally a selling point, and nobody's ever bellowed their love for Mario Galaxy's "Throw star bits at enemies" mechanic- but probably having a much bigger world, with more interacting features and more tools/tricks in general, probably ended up killing performance. Similar to how Rex got shelved in Smash in favour of Pyra/Mythra, because having potentially 8x Rex each with a Pyra, Mythra and Nia (far more complicated deigns than Pokemon) would have killed the performance.
dandori issue
@@jlcdavenport6268In that case here's to hoping for a Pikmin 4 Deluxe on updated hardware fixing this shortcoming!
@@user-qh4il3ov6rStealing this quote.
@@jlcdavenport6268tbf, in the Dandori Battles you can play as 2 captains with the split screen just fine, albeit those are smaller and more self-contained arenas. My guess for why pointer co-op was approved over Oatchi co-op is because ironically, I don’t know how they could work in the Dandori Battles. Should Player 1 & 2 have to share the same screen while the CPU gets a screen to themselves, or should the CPU’s screen get nixed in favor of Player 2 getting the second screen, or should there be 3 screens at once for the Players and the CPU??? It’s a difficult question to answer, so I guess the developers thought having the pointer co-op would be better for consistency and performance.
Can’t wait for this game to come out tomorrow in my country. This will be my very first Pikmin game. I have been impatient to play it ever since I played the demo. I can’t even imagine how impatient the long term Pikmin fans are right now lol. Bring it on!
I impulse bought every game on switch and am loving it you gonna have a great time
@@lemonmanlegoreviews5661 it comes out in 21 hours for me now lol. I would buy the other games in the series but I’m going through financial hardship right now until September. Thankfully I had a spare game voucher from when I purchased it for Pokémon violet so I was able to get Pikmin 4. I’m so excited lol
Dang for me it’s coming in 2 days ( or if I’m not counting today it will take one more day) :C not tomorrow 😢 and I’m a long term Pikmin fan whose played the originals on the original consoles they were released on and I feel like exploding in excitement because it’s coming very soon!
ya def gotta play the older ones too! 2 especially!
I don't get the criticism some people have of time stopping underground. Yeah, the time pressure is gone, but you have a static number of pikmin. The pressure just shifts from time management to being hyper aware of every pikmin death. "Will I have enough blues to pull that treasure out of the water? Ugh, I need just one purple to lift this. I don't think I can beat this boss with seventeen reds and a rock."
Valid argument.
Time doesn't really stop underground, it's just slowed down 1/6 of its original speed.
Agreed. To be honest, it was too much in P2. Caves could have like 8 sub levels, which were tough enough on their own, with a fixed number of Pikmin (although a few instances where you could replenish). A time limit wasn’t necessary or added challenge. It just made an existing challenge more annoying.
I'm really sad there's no challenge mode. That was my favorite part of 3 and the thing that kept me playing after 100%
Pikmin 4 my gosh I never thought I’d see the day!!! So many memories of the franchise !!! I’m so excited to play this!!❤
Enjoy 🌱
Pikmin 5 2033
Pikmin 4 is a hoax and a disappointment
one of my fave franchises ever, hugely underrated. I remember playing pikmin the original when it first came out and was amazed by the environment and gameplay was so good the entire thing captivated me into its world in a way I get a little upset about honestly looking back, hard to explain how a game can make you feel that way. only botw and the witcher 3 have gave me that same kind of feeling
*notices the leaf on oachie's tail*
If those leaflings hurt my doggo, im gonna sick 100 purple pikmin on them
Still can’t believe we’ve come this far since the meme of Miyamoto saying “Pikmin 4 is in development” 84 years ago.
I think the switch effect will do wonders for Pikmin. I always knew about the series and as a kid I really wanted it having seen the trailer on my Luigi’s Mansion disc but never had the game. I recently played through the first 3 on switch and now can’t wait for 4. Can’t buy it until next week though 😩
that emoji on the end was unnecessary by all means 💀
@@scooter5248 so was your reply
The only thing I missed was the advanced AI of one specific enemy *If you know. You know*
It wasn’t as aggressive as it used to be which is why it was so scary in pikmin 2
Gripes I have about this game before it even came out yet:
1. It's too easy. There are all of these special items you can get that make the game even easier, the controls are simplified by having an auto lock, there is no time limit, and you can literally go back in time to prevent Pikmin deaths. For the 4th game, you would hope that they would give players who have stuck with the series since the first game a proper challenge, but oddly enough, the first and second games are still the hardest in the series.
2. The co-op is a joke. It is disappointing how you can't tackle the adventure with a friend and make them as involved in the world as you. This could have turned your friend into a Pikmin fan. I feel like they could have maybe fixed this by letting them play as Oachi!
3. The Dandori Battle isn't online. There is no way Nintendo introduces a very compelling competitive multiplayer mode for the 4th time (Pikmin 2 Wii, Pikmin 3 Wii U, Pikmin 3 Switch), and still keeps it offline! I can never play the battle mode with any of my friends because they never played Pikmin before and I simply can't introduce them to this when I am competing with them.
4. They removed the end of the day logs and the main character has no personality. Instead of expanding upon a cool idea introduced in Pikmin 1, they opted to just not bother themself in this game, which is wildly disappointing. It originally gave a bit of replay value and made you feel more connected to the protagonist. Olimar is iconic, and not just because he has a cool design, but also because he has a personality. He has goals. He has a family. This is some interesting stuff, and now we really don't have that connection with the protagonist, which is odd for a Pikmin game. Yes, we have side characters, but I ended up being so annoyed with how much they interrupted the game. What ever happened to that show, don't tell sort of gameplay philosophy that Miyamoto was famous for in the Super Mario Bros. series?
5. I don't like the modern logo. This is a nitpick and certainly doesn't affect the gameplay, but the new logo is more basic than the old one, where it looked like it was made out of the Pikmin themselves.
6. The story seems to take place in an alternate universe and sorta disrespects all that was built up from the prior 3 games. Who knows, maybe I am wrong, and this game does in fact tie in with all previous 3 games, but if it doesn't, then it's sorta disingenuous to call this game Pikmin 4. I just felt like Pikmin 3 had an ending that could be built up on. With the mysterious final boss and the mysterious object that fell from the sky in Pikmin.
7. The music... is kinda unimpressive. This is something that I can be wrong about, but none of the NEW music in Pikmin 4 really stuck with me. I mean, does anyone remember the starting song in the demo or underground sections? Probably not. I mean, who could forget The Forest of Hope theme or even the classic Valley of Repose theme! Pikmin 3 even has some more atmospheric, but still memorable music in its own right. But I might be too hasty here. Who knows, but so far, I am unimpressed.
DON'T GET ME WRONG! This game looks great! But, these are just ALL of the problems I have with the game. Looks like there is still plenty to love about this game. I just wanted to express these issues so that it's recognized what we lost in this game. I am still very exciting and none of these problems ruin the game at all for me!
I’d mix into #5 the UI/font. They’re very sterile. The old UI/font were bubbles and had personality. I understand making things more clearer and approachable, and especially making more legible text… but it still could’ve been more interesting than basic squares and a standard font. The logo change (and changing the logos of all past games) to me is emblematic that they’re rebooting and going in a different direction for the series future. One that is more generic to appeal to a wider, weak audience that can’t be even slightly inconvenienced. Sanding off all the edges that made it stand out in the first place. They let you hit bulborb’s eyes in 3 as a weak point for more strategy. Now you can’t even aim yourself because they forced auto lock-on. It’s sad. It’ll likely sell better simply for being on Switch and adding a dog, and they’ll use that as confirmation to not bother having any challenge in the future. All while new fans cheer simp,y because they can “complete it” because they couldn’t be bothered to have a modicum of patience. You can add new (optional) features without taking all the fun and risk out of it.
I played the demo and is a very fun game, definly worth it It you want to get into the series
I really hope they introduce some challenge modes. Perhaps a new game plus to encourage replayability.
"Is It Worth It?" Yes. It´s a Pikmin game, and amazing one at that, I will definetly get it on release!
Describing Pikmin 2 as “more relaxed” is straight up gatling groink propaganda
I play Pikmin 4 demo on my Switch Lite and I like how smooth it is, how beautiful it is. Will purchase it after this. Switch effect is real, everything delicious on the Switch. Easily will sold million in a few days ❤
Pikmin 4 is peak
Peakmin 🫡
peakest part of my life, the 10 year wait will no doubt be worth it.
i loved pikmin 2 so much. i know it's a little rough but i loved the challenge and how ruthless it is. i hope this game isn't a cake walk or has some difficulty options
Even 3 had ultra-spicy which was more like normal/hard but I’m hoping. With the new reset feature you can rewind any mistakes you make… I hope it’s tough as nails due to this
Yeah, really wish they had a brutal mode option that was super punishing if you trip up in the slightest
Disappointed that the game is so easy. I always felt like the urgency of Pikmin 1 and the challenging moments of Pikmin 2 were what made those games so exciting and gave them character.
I feel like it is a waste not to have these games be difficult by default with an easy option for people who don't want to be stimulated. They spent so long making a complex nuanced system only for a lot of their work to go to waste.
The game was made for people almost all ages can enjoy the game making it less frustrating for some peoples that has no patience or people saying that the game randomness is unfair like enemys and bombs falling from the sky etc,but who knows maybe Nintendo Adds an hard mode and true spice mode for the ones that want a challenge
Maybe they’ll update it with difficulty modes. Hopefully better than pikmin three’s difficulty modes
Have you played through the endgame? It never gets ridiculously difficult, but I feel like people were too quick to say there's no challenge in this game. There definitely is a decent amount of challenge in the endgame. Olimar's Shipwreck tale and the Sage Leaf Trials in particular are no cakewalk.
This agression against Pikmin 3 will not stand. Managing multiple captains was excellent. The side missions were excellent. The game was excellent.
I never thought I would get into Pikmin, but here we are.
I played the demo and acrually got bummed out when it ended, so I immediately went and got the game.
For me, the game being super chill in difficulty and play style is a huge plus for me. When I play a game, I just like to turn my brain off and explore and collect things (my favorite games are N64 collectathons) without having to worry about anything. Pikmin 2's difficulty, while I love the game, makes it hard to go back to especially because of the final area.
For sure, I do wish there'd be some difficult optional content though. I'm all on board for making games accessible to everyone, but I do think there's some merit to having a little extra for the player who wants a bit of difficulty - just keep it post-game.
@@moth2120This! Nothing wrong with making a game for all, but like, not everyone wants a pip squeak easy game, some like a challenge... even a difficulty mode like 3DX would go a long way. A game is still a game.
Difficulty shouldn't be completely thrown away because there are people who want no real challenge, and the same can be said vice versa. There are ways to appeal to both gamers, ONCE again, 3DX had the answer right there.
With enough tweaking and improving, 4 could be appealing to all!!
Why are you looking to an RTS game if you don’t like the tension of managing risks?
@@moth2120 There's still a very good chance that they will just add harder difficulty options down the road like they did for 3DX so don't worry
@@moth2120 I actually agree with you. I'd be up for Pikmin 2-esque caves, difficulty and all, as a side mode. Actually, as a side move, you can make as difficult as you'd like and I'd enjoy it. But I didn't like it as much in Pikmin 2 because it was most of the main mode.
6 full areas, 110 enemies, 23 caves, main story plus side story, and all 8 pikmin type onions to collect. Hell yea its worth buying. And no the reviewers are misleading with saying pikmin 4 is easy, its harder than pikmin 3 and a bit like pikmin 2, some enemies will delete your whole pikmin army.
Wow really that much? I'm excited
Sick, good to know
Stop doing false advertising about the difficulty. The game Is too easy and that's a matter of fact
@@Xf3rnaPlays The reviewers dont play the full game and there opinions are invalid and false advertising.
@@Xf3rnaPlayswill you stop with the difficulty? I’ve seen you in multiple comments and all your complaining about is difficulty. Not every game needs to be so difficult, and pikmin is supposed to be a game for all ages.
Honestly impulse bought this game yesterday because the characters are all so adorable. I'm loving the game so far!
I think I can already confidently say this game is going to be my favourite Pikmin game already. I loved playing the demo and even got 100% exploration in it too! I love the new mechanics (mostly Oatchi) and I quite appreciate the fact that they’ve limited the amount of Pikmin you can take out early game. In all the previous games I found that I’d spend a lot of time building up to 100 Pikmin as opposed to exploring just so I can breeze through encounters easier but this forced me to be less of a scaredy cat lol.
I’m so excited for the games release, it’s the first game I’ve preordered in a long time.
I'm a little concerned this game isn't going to be difficult enough. Not having scenarios where you're forced to use the new abilities and items the game offers you in terms of its new RPG-like upgrade elements sounds concerning. I'm all for changing things up to attract new players but a game is still a game.
On the bright side, having it sell well means more likelihood to get sequels and ports in the future. I know that's a longterm goal, but there are a lot of new/young Nintendo players these days because of the Switch.
Yeah I’m with you. 3 already didn’t hit the same itch as 1 and 2 due to difficulty issues and this seems easier. But 3 is still pretty tricky if you set out to do it as fast as possible so no time limit is off to me
As someone who loves to set my own difficulty hurdles for these games (attempt 7 on a permadeath TOTK run), and someone who is not afraid to play mods that tremendously increase difficulty (deathrun subnautica), difficulty is always a solvable issue. If the base game is solid and it plays well, the community will always do the rest
@@MichaelJones-wj4mo check out pikmin 3's True Spice mod its glorious
@@skx444 Maybe because I tried to rush but 3 got hard all the sudden at the final area. Also I didn't do all the extra single-player content, just all the fruit. I'm fine with Nintendo changing things up to make it more welcoming but it's still a game, difficulty is a defining aspect of games and action/adventure and RTS games you've gotta have something there at certain points.
This will be my first Pikmin, the Dogo got me, ngl hahaha
Same here 😂
“pikmin 3 felt like the least focused” is wild
Yeah, like 2 is right there, what are they on about in terms of focus.
Yeah. I feel like Pikmin 3 is the perfect middle-ground between 1 and 2. Plenty to explore and do. Sure, no caves, but the maps were huge. No true time based limit, but it was tied to your fruit juice reserves. A hefty Co-op challenge mode, Bingo Battle... Pikmin 3 was just right.
@@extraful1 Yes, it was! I loved it and have spent over 130 hours on it.
I wish Pikmin incorporated some building mechanics, such as temporary fortifications to defend against daily raids from enemies.
I’ve never played Pikmin and really want to try this one, but I’m honestly terrified of the fact they can die. Idk if I can handle the guilt so now I’m nervous to play 😅
After playing the Demo, I have 3 main gripes about the game. Gripes because I love the series and want this game to be the best it can be. Hopefully the final game or some updates address some of this.
1. The sheer amount of dialogue. Which is made worse by..
2. Skipping through dialogue is painfully slow. Don’t understand why skipping text is as slow as it is, but it was especially frustrating with all the unnecessary dialogue this game has.
3. Throwing 2 Pikmin at a pellet flower will no longer results in both of them carrying the pellet. One is left just standing there. With the emphasis on Dandori efficiency, it’s especially strange that this feature was discontinued in this entry. Appears they want you to be resource-efficient specifically, as removing this feature actively makes you LESS efficient with your time. Why not have the option? ?Que no los dos?
yo i just wanna say that i love you guys on this channel! alex, felix, zenon, you guys are the best!
I honestly don't like the pricing. 60 Euros for 30 hours, while Zelda has 100 hours for the same price, is a bit too much. But that's just Nintendo I guess.
PIKMINBROS… WE’VE MADE IT…
Wish I had played the first 3 games by now, but I’m waiting for the physical copy of 1+2 so come out in September and then I have to play Pikmin 3 Deluxe. I’ll definitely be dodging spoilers for a while lol.
Pikmin 1 and 2 are connected in terms of story, pikmin 3 is very stand alone. It was how I got into the series and didn't need the first 2 to be intrigued. But, I hope you enjoy your playthroughs.
With all the challenging and fast paced games I play it’s nice having cute chill games like Pikmin as balance.
Anyone know if you can continue to collect treasure post-credits? IE pikmin 2?
Yes, the game structure is very similar to Pikmin 2
"Gtchyeh DOG!" And that is why im buying pikmin 4
For the main campaign, I enjoyed it, but found myself a little disappointed. The big issue was that it lacked focus. The surface exploration has its own, traditional Pikimin pace. But when you head underground, it becomes a dungeon crawler that focuses on exploration without time management. Then you have the Dandori battles and challenge modes which crank up the time management to the max, but have minimal exploration. Then you have the night missions, which are more like an action game.
All of these components are good fun. But I felt hopping between them constantly in the main campaign never let me get into the full swing of any one of them.
Fortunately, Pikmin 4 has an absolutely massive post game. I was completely blown away in a manner I haven't been since entering Kanto in Pokemon Gold 22 years ago. You get 2 extra surface areas to explore (the main game has 4) a massive 20 floor underground dungeon, a challenge mode tower, and an entire campaign built around the design philosophy of Pikmin 1. That last one offered what I consider the pure Pikmin experience that the main campaign lacked.
It's also worth noting, I don't think Oatchi was ideally implemented. His main function is as a separate explorer, similar to Louie, Brittainy and Alph from past games. But by defailt, you need to open up a menu in order to switch characters. You can, and should assign this to a shortcut. It really opens up how to play the game correctly.
YOU CAN TEACH THE DOG TO PROTECT THE LUMIKNOLS I LOVE HIM
HES SUCH A GOOD BOY
Decided to watch this after my friend who's way more into Pikmin than I am finished his 100% playthrough. From what I've gathered talking to him as he played it, he liked the game enough to consider it his second favorite behind 2 and debates on if it likes it more than 3 or not. Biggest issue seems to be that the dog just makes everything too easy since it can become strong enough pretty fast to take out some of the toughest non-boss enemies pretty quick and since all of your Pikmin can just jump on and ride it, it tends to trivialize some boss fights where you can just ride the dog around to keep Pikmin in one spot instead of having them all over the place like you'd find them being in previous games.
I hope they add hard mode! I enjoyed the Demo and the tone of 4 because it was less about time stress and more about planning out your tasks. It's a comfort game for me and I need more of those.
Pikmin 4 might be my favourite game in the series and that's after it prompted me to go back and play 1, 2 and (once I bought it) 3 Deluxe. Felt smooth to control, the environments more open and plenty of modes and challenges that change the formula just enough to be interesting and fun additions. Game is a little too easy but I'm already on a second playthrough to collect treasure faster.
I do have one, fairly big gripe and that is the auto targeting. In Pikmin 3 you could choose to target with a trigger press which gives one a better ability to prioritise certain targets in a pinch. In Pikmin 4 it forces an auto target when you get close to something which could be an enemy, nectar, treasure etc which feels like a step back.
Finally
Pikkenheimer
I legit forgot that Pikmin 4 was coming out this Friday. When it got leaked I thought it leaked 10 days earlier rather than just 3 days.
I heard: "the addition of gentle anuses" at 09:45 lol
6:12 This looks familiar, Bulblax Kingdom final floor?
Can’t wait for the Chuggaaconroy walkthrough
Generally looks amazing - just wish it was more challenging. Hopefully there's a hard mode? They didn't mention it here...
There isnt sadly but maybe it will be added in a dlc like pimmin 3's?
This will be my first time play a pikmin game. So I’m super excited. I recently was playing pikmin 1. I see why people enjoyed the first game.
Super excited for Pikmin 4.
Blue pikmin will always be my fav
I love the rocks ice and purples the most personally I really like the different body shapes
@@omnivorousapple1720 I will say seeing the new ice pikmin. They look adorable!!!
It’a cool I get experience the other pikmin. :O
I THOUGHT BENARD WAS ALPH😭😭 They had us in the first half ngl
I havent played the demo and won't play until the game gets to me on release day, but i hope its not too easy.
I remeber in pikmin 3 where you needed to unlock Ultra Spicy by beating the story, which made the hardest gamemode super easy because you already have experienced it all for the most part, leaving the only challenge in the challenge mode.
I hope that the new game doesnt have this issue.
13:37 i see that little hop of shame thinking your playing your character
5:38
Bro there’s baby crabs xD
are there onions for all types???
It’s a single onion for all types
Yeah
Even purple and white onions exist in the files!
thanks!
Well if you need the time-limit thay have a mode for that as well in the game. To me this is a 5/5
How are people praising this so much when it is a disappointment. There’s virtually zero challenge. I don’t even think there’s an unlockable hard mode.
I’m so disappointed and fed up that Nintendo are always catering to the lowest denominator.
"Nintendo are Always catering to the lowest denominator" jeez man, look what they do with Mario, Zelda, Metroid and any other franchise besides pikmin. If the only franchise your attached Is pikmin, then don't shit on the entirety of Nintendo ips because it's not always the case (even without the always)
With those gripes, disappointments and negatives how can the reviewer say they "nailed it!" and give it a 9/10?
What are the negatives?
Watch the video and listen
Why does everyone always talk about Pikmin 1’s limited day mechanic like it was this thing that made that game super hard? That game is probably the easiest in the series and just about everyone I’ve met never ran the timer. The only hard thing about that game was it’s Pikmin AI which I don’t miss.
2023 is kinda unreal as a switch owner..... New FE, Octopath 2, totk, pikmin 4, mario wonder, smrpg....
A pikmin game that long that has no time limit and little difficulty is a game that will make people lose interest pretty fast imo. I don't think many will care about the new npcs all that much. Pikmin 1 got it right, it just needed to be longer. We'll see
I played the demo and I don’t get why people like the new characters. They don’t really have personality, just job titles.
@@mrshmuga9 right, and there are too many of them too fast. Even the main character seems to be hollow. Olimar alone in Pikmin 1 was more interesting. I feel like Oatchi will do most of the heavy lifting
@@oOTheMastaOo240kirb!
@@sparkypack yessir
@@oOTheMastaOo240 I wish Oatchi was more alien and not clearly like a dog because that’s conventional and easy bait for people. Maybe not just a straight up Bulborb like interview said, but something a bit more unique. Same with the custom captain. It looks like they made a handful of individual pieces, but not actually tested if they look good together. They should’ve started out with 4 or 5 specific designs, and then chopped up those pieces as individual selections. Because even if there are specific designs in there somewhere, it doesn’t look like it. Same with the other captains of the crew. Their designs aren’t that strong.
So excited! Cant wait for Friday.
I hope there will be a hard mode update later down the line for more veteran players to enjoy.
Still excited!
For those of you looking for a timed mode like the first game, it’s right after the main story. It’s a fun surprise, I’m a couple days into it and stressing on how I’m going to finish the objective.
Don’t spoil! It’s supposed to be a surprise!
Oh man this so far has been the ultimate pallet cleanser to ween myself of that gamer heroin called zelda totk. I was suprised how addicting the Dandori battles were. It's not perfect but they timed the release perfectly and it's actually sparked my interest in pikmin again, pikmin 3 was not my cup of tea.
So excited to play this loved the demo have played one and two and three bought one and two again to get ready for 4 so excited. Love pikman games. On the difficulty aspect i feel they are doing that to most Nintendo games now im guessing to try to bring more people in but at some point you have to say how easy do games really need to be. Im sure i will still enjoy it thou but it doesn't have to be super easy. Kids these days run circles around adults even in hard games therw no reason to make every game super easy.
So is this game having no difficulty settings while being super easy? Or can you make rules to restrict things like you never level up the dog or attack with your dog to make the game more enjoyable for veteran players? As a big fan of Pikmin series, but mostly because of Pikmin 1's savage wildness and the mysterious and unique atmosphere, I don't know if I buy or not.
Even if It has no difficulty, It still has a lot of content and a second quest that's way harder than the base game, sorta like a new game plus. For me it's worth buying
That pressure from the first game is why I have anxiety today XD. In all seriousness, this game looks FANTASTIC
The Pikmin 4 Rom leak is the reason why console manufacturers use to do custom hardware, rather than constructing from off-the-shelf components, like what they do now. The X360 had pretty much every game leaked before launch.
I remember playing the 1st game when it came out...I feel old lol
Tell me about it, whenever I fire up my snes I feel like I should be in a rocking chair.
30 hours???
Probably only if you don’t wanna 100% while taking your time. The demo took me about 10 hours alone to 100%
I'd say skill/experience wirh Pikmin in general plays a massive part in the time too tbh
Cause I also 100%ed the first area from the demo... in like 2 and half hours despite being unfamiliar with the area
HOW MUCH WAFFELING IS ENOUGH WAFFELING...... THAT IS THE REAL QUESTION.
My theory is that this is a more streamlined, easier game to get n00bs onboard and boost sales, then they'll go back to making the game actually challenging for the next release
How is that in all the games there was a rescue squad that had a ship malfunction landing them in crap. Somebody needs to check with engineering on why the constant breakdowns of ships.
I’ve been on the fence about getting Pikmin cuz I haven’t touched my switch in forever but maybe this review will help me
Are there no challenging scenarios where you need to be efficient to get a platinum score like in 3D? I don't have a lot of money so if there is just the always short campaign, I will wait until I'll see a cheap used version of this in the future.
Such scenarios or short side story missions like in 3D would make it better.
I just can't pay 60quid for short games
*exhales one breath* "But AnYwaY that's MorE than enough waffling"
Alex, I love you man but every time I hear your intro Bowser curb stomps a Toad
What do you think people will think of the game if they didn't like 2? I really didn't like the cave system and while I can see it does improve on the design of 2's caves, I still just don't like them conceptually. Do you think that people who didn't like 2 for that sort of reason would like this game as much? I still think I'll enjoy it but I don't think I'll find it better than 3 or even 1
From what I can tell of the demo, it's a massive step up. In 2, the caves served the role of a massive enemy gauntlet, where you had to manage your troops and be very careful as you finished level after level of brutal foes and traps. In 4, the caves are significantly closer to the BotW/TotK shrines, being a much shorter, much more focused experience with an emphasis on Pikmin puzzle solving. In addition, the overworld areas are much larger and you'll be spending much more time in them, as opposed to 2 where 90% of your time was spent in caves.
@parchmentengineer8169 well yeah I know they're better, but I still just don't like the concept of Pikmin caves. The whole thing of going into these areas with minimal consequences other than Pikmin death (which so far in the demo it doesn't seem like even that happens much in this game) and getting to just ignore the rules of the game like time limits, or in this game also Flarlic and potentially type limits too. You don't even have to wrangle up all your Pikmin, they just go with you. The caves just feel like an annoying distraction from exploring the overworld and splitting your group up to get lots of tasks done in a short amount of time
I do really like the Dandori battles though, they're fun. I've heard we don't get all that many though, could be wrong
I KNEW THEY WOULD EXPLODE THE BRICKS TO MAKE A BIGGER HUB
GIANT BREAD BUG RETURNS!!!!!!
where did alex get that Pikmin 3 take 🤣
I've been playing about half an hour to an hour so far and the constant interruption of gameplay for dialogue and hand holding is really beginning to piss me off.
Pikmin 4 and Super Mario Wonder will be the last new Nintendo titles for the Switch. Next year we will see remakes cause the next generation Switch will come out late 2024 for Christmas. I won't be surprised that we will see a Pokemon Black & White remake next year.
BREADBUG RETURNS!!!
Why do you get early access too the full thing? 🤨📷
Would it be a good idea to get 4 first then 3 during a sale?
This will be my first Pikmin game. I just want to play this with my family.
Have one voucher left. Thinking of using it on this. The demo was fun.
I love Pikmin but I don't know if I liked how the game changed from pikmin 3 to pikmin 4, I still don't know if im gonna buy it, one thing is clear, the hud is really ugly compared to the Pikmin 3 hud
Really didn’t like 3 deluxe at all - I found it annoying and the storyline made zero sense. It also felt like they just threw stuff at us and didn’t think about how it could’ve been integrated well etc.
but this? Omg, Pikmin 4 is not resting on it’s Laurels. It’s a new, innovative game with actual narrative and I love the Oatchi inclusion (it’s also wild how the new camera angles make me happy).
My only disappointment, though, seems to be with all Nintendo icons lately: the lack of HUD customization . I’d reeeeaaaly like to shrink the sparkling mete (o4 get rid of it)
It would be nice if they added a challenge mode for those that want a time limit to beat the game
are Purples and Whites returning to the main campaign again? I don't think I spotted them in the footage, but maybe I missed them.
Yes they are returning😊
Apparently they’re only available underground. So you can’t make more a la onions.
@@mrshmuga9actually you can. Purples and whites have onions now, but you find them as well as other pikmin before you find the onions.
@@IJC039 Oh really? My mistake. I read other people saying you couldn't. Nice that they're wrong/mistaken.
@@mrshmuga9 yes, however I believe you get their onions late in the game
yes
ochi being strong allows for new game design oppurtunities
Hope we can disable lock on. I like to play games not watch games play themselves
You can't 😂 what a joke of a game 😂 the pikmin series is now for children, not old fans 😂 dead series 😂
I agree. Only good thing is Groovy Long Legs and Oatchi.
Did someone say Pikmin?!
PIKMIN!!!!!!!! PIIIICKKKMINNNN!!!!!
Edit: I’d like to buy all your Pikmin
If you know you know
Another masterpiece by Nintendo. Not that there was ever any doubt, I've had my preorder in place since the day it was announced. Can't wait!
No need to pre order these days brO 😭
I like it, but main game is very short, unexpectedly short. Ended game before completing final area (bc I needed fire suit). Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyy too much dialogue.
Also too many loading screens
Pikmin 4 made several fatal mistakes
Yeah, it’s mid overall. I’m probably not getting the full game, I’m just going to play pikmin 3.
