Alannah Currie actually looks pissed off standing in the background beating on that drum. The were a great band, but always made to look bad having to mime on television. Dire Straits made a reference to her "she's banging on them bongos like a chimpanzee", shame, they were really great, a lot of the stuff they did before they became famous was very good, but very few people have heard it.

Too bad about the tape glitch or whatever in the first verse. "West is West" is actually supposed to be in the song too at that point.
I only heard this for the first time yesterday on an oldies station, and was sufficiently impressed I had to look it up. After almost 30 years the message still needs to get out :-/

dondocooperstein - this is from the West German show Musik Laden, I used to tape the repeats on German stations N3 and RBB via the analogue Astra satellite picked up here in the UK a few years ago. They were great shows.

I remember these songs as big hits, and i saw them do them live. The TT put on a show, with everybody dancing to their hand gestures and moves. . But speaking for posterity, to this day i have no idea what Tom Bailey was singing about.

I first heard them on the radio in 1980 with the single...Lets Be Friends....It was their best effort after which they became bloated and boring as with this crap.
