How many Bond references can you find in the lyrics? "Shatters in my hand" -> Dr. Guntram Shatterhand was Blofelds alias in You Only Live Twice (novel). Perfect outline of a quarter life crisis. Looking back at life from the age of 25 asking yourself where did the golden years go, and all the bumps in the road you went through on your journey that aged you prematurely. You wish you’d done things differently and enjoyed the ride instead of focusing on the destination. You find yourself slowing down a bit, and it makes you anxious. You’re also now just a few years away from the next decade in your life and your afraid of it. You feel that you’ve lost your youth, and you see nothing but confusion in your past and uncertainty in your future. And since the last 25 years went by so fast, the upcoming years will go by faster. And before you know it, you’ll be in a mid life crisis (but also there’s that question if you’ll even get to that age).

She just gets more beautiful and grows more into her music as time goes on. The whole band improves so much with every album. Taylor has come into her own! Her vocals have come so far. She’s embraced her beauty we all knew was there and after seeing a recent interview, she seems so happy now. Damn awesome song and the others I’ve heard from this upcoming album are the best they’ve done yet!
Her brilliance is multi-dimensional. She reminds me of Lana del Rey, Jimmy Page, Shirley Manson -- all writers who wouldn't, and couldn't, be limited by genres or by anyone else's constraints or borderlines. She seems incapable of writing a bad song. Glad she's getting the attention her talents deserve. And... I can't wait to see where she takes us next.
Posiblemente el mejor video de la banda. La forma en que las imágenes se complementan con las canción, dándole el sentido que sabemos que tiene, es algo de una gran belleza.
The Pretty Reckless just invented Elegant Rock. Been listenning to them since I was fourteen. Next september I'm turning 25 and this band is the only band I don't get tired of. I'm so amazed of how they got better. Didn't think it was possible to get better. And yet here we are.
25 was written when Momsen was with her 25 besides being a personal song about the losses she had from people close to Kato Khandwala, Chris cornell and all the artists who went through the turbulence period at 27, is a tribute to those who are no longer here but who added a lot to music and art. This music resonates as its apex of writing, melody, composition and at its best was considering how beautiful and delivered it is in the video and the emotion that the song passes us. It is the talent overflowed more vividly in a period that no longer makes music, but products to be sold.
It's a nice story, but almost every line references the Bond movie matching the number... including Bond having lived much longer than expected, to retirement in #25. Also, it has the Bond theme chord progression. To copy what I wrote on the unplugged version comments section: 1 - (Dr) NO-thing lasts forever 2 - followed you From Russia With Love 3 - the only one I'm not even seeing a squint-for-it connection (Goldfinger) 4 - moving on to better things - maybe because the boat in Thunderball is fast? 5 - a lie (Bond "dies" in the opening scene of You Only Live Twice) and a kiss (it's BOND) 6 - secrets served In Her Majesty's Secret Service 7 (skipped) (Diamonds Are Forever) 8 - Live and Let Die (another day) 9 - reflections in the barrel of a (Golden) Gun 10 - those who love me / The Spy Who Loved Me 11 - Moonraker & 12 - For Your Eyes Only - held the future (techno mcguffins) in my hand
His voice is as if angels and demons were having sex. She manages to be extremely angelic and rude, she surrenders her soul to her music and passes emotion in her timbre. Taylor M is gold
Janette Babcock nope. I don't think that at all. You are insane. What crazy thoughts in your head would make you think that this should be in a James Bond movie?
This belongs in a southern vampire tv show or movie. Or a witchy movie. I love her movements and expressions. You can tell that she really grew up. You can sense that she’s still a hard-ass but this was so elegantly made. She was so beautiful in her gold dress.
She’s actually pretty chill and low key in real life she just stands by her beliefs which is respectful in her industry. I’m sure she had many people at record labels and industry agents trying to push her a different route
This may be Taylor's best vocal performance. She is one of the best young singers out there. Her voice is full of feeling and passion. Death by rock and roll is also their best album. This band just keeps getting better.

Face: on a good day I'm unremarkable, on a bad day... well... think Shrek with a hangover.
Body: I really need to get into shape. Then again, a sphere is a shape too, right?
Talent: I know an amazing number of useless facts. Other than that, nothing really.
Voice: I couldn't carry a tune if it were handed to me in a basket.
Woah, this song really moved me. She is so underrated. Too talented for this music industry.
This song is the "Stairway to Heaven" or "Do You Feel Like We Do" for the Pretty Reckless. For them, a seminal song to measure the rest against. Beautifully orchestrated and beautifully sung. An instant classic.
Yup. I'm at that stage right now, freshly 25. You described it very well.
@@mikeira Me, too. Especially turning 25 during quarantine.
So true, 27 now and a quarter life crisis is a real thing
Sad thing is that never changes, you hit 25 as you have expectations and responsibilities. You start to feel this way every year after that.
Yep it never changes but if she can sing this at 25 hopefully she won't die at 27 💜.🖤
the one line "the glass of my intentions turn to sand, and shatters in my hand" is better on its own than 90%of the music out there today.
Jonny Hostile what does it mean though 🤔
@@officialWWM its about how, even though you may want something, and no matter what you do to to try and keep it. Sometimes it just doesn't work and things fall apart anyway. @@officialWWM with the music video, it made me consider that she's saying time was the thing influencing her intentions, but where she's at right now she feels like she's at a point where she doesn't know who she is and that she's broken like an hour glass and now there is nothing guiding her intentions, so now her opinions and intentions are all over the place.

I was watching this surprised by Taylor's acting skills, but then it hit me that she was an actress. Hudrrrrrr
Since she was 2 as well. Thats something not alot of actors have under their belt. She was literally raised an actress
😂😂😂
Hahahaha and if you see gossip girl you will get her music a lot better. It's a show about abuse in the highest parts of society with the characters shown as the heroes. "Little J" was her character and was a survivor in the show as well

She just gets more beautiful and grows more into her music as time goes on. The whole band improves so much with every album. I can't wait for the Death By Rock and Roll album, and the way Taylor talks about being proud of it makes me anticipate it even more. I'm a 25 year old woman and I love following a singer/songwriter so close to my age that I can relate to.
James Bond main theme.
Actually, she could be a Bond Girl or even a villainess.
She could be Bond, she's the main character of the video dude.

"much longer then expected for a man" it could have been written from James Bond point of view. Or written by a the male guitarist as he wrote death by rock and roll.

Her low notes are intoxicating ... I’m seriously obsessed 😍
25th what?
It's a nice story, but almost every line references the Bond movie matching the number... including Bond having lived much longer than expected, to retirement in #25. Also, it has the Bond theme chord progression.
To copy what I wrote on the unplugged version comments section:
1 - (Dr) NO-thing lasts forever
2 - followed you From Russia With Love
3 - the only one I'm not even seeing a squint-for-it connection (Goldfinger)
4 - moving on to better things - maybe because the boat in Thunderball is fast?
5 - a lie (Bond "dies" in the opening scene of You Only Live Twice) and a kiss (it's BOND)
6 - secrets served In Her Majesty's Secret Service
7 (skipped) (Diamonds Are Forever)
8 - Live and Let Die (another day)
9 - reflections in the barrel of a (Golden) Gun
10 - those who love me / The Spy Who Loved Me
11 - Moonraker & 12 - For Your Eyes Only - held the future (techno mcguffins) in my hand
His voice is as if angels and demons were having sex. She manages to be extremely angelic and rude, she surrenders her soul to her music and passes emotion in her timbre. Taylor M is gold
Does anyone else think this song would be really good in a James Bond movie

This belongs in a southern vampire tv show or movie. Or a witchy movie. I love her movements and expressions. You can tell that she really grew up. You can sense that she’s still a hard-ass but this was so elegantly made. She was so beautiful in her gold dress.
She’s actually pretty chill and low key in real life she just stands by her beliefs which is respectful in her industry. I’m sure she had many people at record labels and industry agents trying to push her a different route
