LYRICS
Year one
Was lots of fun
But nothing lasts forever in my dreams
And two
I followed you
Because you knew the way or so it seemed
And three
I still believed
That we would be becoming destiny
And four
I wanted more
But you were moving on to better things
At twenty-five
And still alive
Much longer than expected for a man
At twenty-five
All hope has died
And the glass of my intentions turns to sand
And shatters in my hand
Five to six
A lie, a kiss
The secrets that were served we’d never say
Skip to eight
We called to fate
To live, to let us die another day
And nine
I saw the signs
Reflected in the barrel of a gun
Ten
We’re here again
Those who loved me burned up in the sun
At twenty-five
And still alive
Much longer than expected for a man
At twenty-five
All hope has died
And the glass of my intentions turns to sand
And shatters in my hand
From eleven, twelve I held the future in my grasp
And all through my teens I screamed I may not live much past
Twenty-one two three four
Twenty-one two three four
Twenty-one two three four
One two three four
At twenty-five
And still alive
Much longer than expected for a man
At twenty-five
All hope has died
And the glass of my intentions
The glass of my intentions
The glass of my intentions
Turns to sand
And shatters in my hand

Taylor is so underrated.
Yes, she deserves more fame, fans and subs, I just love her music 🎶
Absolutely one of the best female rock singers out there !! Hands Down !!
We are lucky persons because we know her don't care about others :)
I agree
She is only due to the ridiculous ignorance of the mainstream media who would rather kiss ass of Taylor Swift or Billie Eileish. They're not rock and roll or edgy like Taylor Momsen, who is so powerful in her deliverance on every song. I've described her voice as angelic. It is.
Rock genre is survived by natural talents like Taylor.
Definitely glad she quit acting and is focusing on this career, instead; her natural talents were squandered being constrained by directors and producers.
check out the nearly deads XD
like THE BAND***********
Rock genre is also hurt by people who think that music is made by only one person.
Rock genre is so hurt because of magazines that call "rock" to anything and anyone when it’s not or when these singers barely play the guitar and barely make pop rock songs and because of people who think rock is dead and stay in their bubble being skeptical of new rock artists and bands.
Rock has become so underrated, ugh this world.
@@creepyclown3551 kind of agree on what you said, but I think that is for that exact reason that ppl have to wake up, and they got to know that rock isn't a guy faking he's playing the guitar, and that rock isn't a single person at house like Taylor doing everything for the rest of the group
Her lower register is INSANE
Olá pessoal! We are an alternative metal band and The Pretty Reckless is one of our biggest influences. So we made a cover version of the song "25" ua-cam.com/video/Di6c3-cD2ts/v-deo.html
higher register drivers me crazy
Female equivalent of Tim Foust or Avi Kaplan. Seriously, drop this song the octave into a guy's range, and that's who it would take to really sing it.
Agreed!! I always start singing along, totally forgetting that she can go much lower than me until that "four..." hits XD
The rasp in her highs is brutal … goosebumps all over
Her voice isn’t this deep when talking but when she start singing... mindblown 🤯
Olá pessoal! We are an alternative metal band and The Pretty Reckless is one of our biggest influences. So we made a cover version of the song "25" ua-cam.com/video/Di6c3-cD2ts/v-deo.html
Yeah its almost like shes a professional or something
The control she has in her voice, is perfect 🙌🏻
@Julia Bishay no.
@Julia Bishay It's still Taylor's own voice either way.
@Julia Bishay Fine detective work. But for one thing. U agree she has control in her voice, yet not enough to have breathing patterns being the same. Making U a squishy couch potato.
@@personasenzanome7309 she is
Yes it is, the lower range is spot on. That's the hardest part to stay consistent on, lower range takes absolute control to pull it off like she does.
My whole body has chills even after the song ended. Her voice is haunting
Ditto. ❤️
Angelic, yet disturbing,... I'd love to meet her, just to get a glimpse of her soul...
She is so mesmerizing
So true. Always loved her voice but especially in her unplugged versions. This one is no different; that transition from deep low into her high raw/raspy voice is incredible. And all the other combinations that she does with almost whispering... pure talent!
Fact
It's how she sings the word "glass" for me.
Very powerful and adctive!!
May we briefly appreciate the Pianist? Both he and Taylor shone here to produce this lovely unplugged version.
Totally!
@Filthy Peasant it says in description :)
Keyboards, the amazing Duncan Watts. And a beautiful human being he is, as well.
I agree absolutely ^^ The Pianist plays absolutely amazing!
@@bojansamo3812 I think Filthy may have been confused between this video and the "band" version like I was!
Rock is NOT dead, tastes are.
Artists and bands like The Pretty Reckless deserve better ♥️ wish them more success with this new album
hmm i dont think so, theres just too much variety these days and peopşe are less rebelious for many reasons so even though many still love rock the spirit of the 70s is onviously gone
Excellent band I hear 70’s-90’s influences in her music. Especially their earlier albums. Love ❤️ luv this band 💯⭐️🔥🖤🖤🎹🎸🎤💯💯
Men they do but they are playing things like Nothing More and Greta Van Fleet and Three Days Grace lol.
Olá pessoal! We are an alternative metal band and The Pretty Reckless is one of our biggest influences. So we made a cover version of the song "25" ua-cam.com/video/Di6c3-cD2ts/v-deo.html
To be fair their promo game is so strong this time round thanks to Fearless records, seriously the best label for them personally
This needs to be a James Bond theme.
It sounds like one
Definitely does and it should be!
Seems to be a rundown of every Bond film indeed.
I just realised that the new bond film "no time to die" will be the 25th film... I wonder if there is a story behind this? (I know Billie Eilish has done the actual theme)
Extra addition of now I searched - it seems others have had the same thought!! :D
The pianist is feeling the music so much it even makes me happy to see him play
There is something about that kind of voice I just absolutely love. It's raspy, smoky, alluring, and emotional all at the same time.
She is hotter than hell and her voice is so unique! So proud of her.
yes
Olá pessoal! We are an alternative metal band and The Pretty Reckless is one of our biggest influences. So we made a cover version of the song "25" ua-cam.com/video/Di6c3-cD2ts/v-deo.html
A powerful performance. Great singing and piano playing.
When they need to cook something down there they go to Taylor's place instead.
THOSE LOW NOTES 😱😍
her vocal range is amazing
They are the best 🖤
My dream
I'm obsessed with the piano sound
Olá pessoal! We are an alternative metal band and The Pretty Reckless is one of our biggest influences. So we made a cover version of the song "25" ua-cam.com/video/Di6c3-cD2ts/v-deo.html
I am proud of the person that is playing piano in the background that is my grandpa 💖🥰
Wtf
I really like in the song when she sings "And shatters in my, hand." The way she build up that intensity you want her to belt out 'hand' in a unbelievable amount of power that you've been led up to, you're ready for it. However when she stops and just slides off with a quiet subtle 'hand' I feel this drop inside like I wasn't ready for that and this thought of no! Like I needed to hear that crescendo but it doesn't come. I think this is so perfect for the song, as much as I wanted to hear that belt come out, to just drop it away like that leaves you with a hole of wanting. Wanting something that won't happen. It's just a great song and perfectly constructed.
Very good point! I was thinking maybe that belt will come out during a live performance at some point, but now I am not sure I want that to happen anymore.
@@simon.annies I know right! It adds to the dynamic of the song that you almost want to feel that wanting of it.
Exactly what I was wondering, will she save it for live performances. It seems too perfectly set up for it. Amazing performance
“The glass of my intentions turns to sand and shatters in my hand” is fucking poetry holy shit that’s an incredible lyric
It is visible that not only does she sing, but she feels and shows this emotion through her songs, her voice sounds like an angel and a demon are having sex. She reaches the apex of an angelic voice, with the flame of a harsh voice, she wakes up the old school rock n roll.
The vocal fry is real with Ms Momson.
Well described! And this is so rare in this modern singers! She is pure talent! So glad to share a bday with her
Perfect description she is rock n roll embodied
Wow yess!! Beautifully said my friend!
After chris Cornell's passing she took it pretty damn hard so she focused on her music
I'm 25 and beating depression, this hits home too hard but I gotta love it
I'm 24 and still in the depression. Being hopeful that 25 will be better
I hope things will start getting better for you. i'd hate to see a fellow fan feeling down
I'm currently 25 with depression and going through a break up so this hit me hard but it's so beautiful.
Heads up, EVERYONE. You are ALL worth something to the world!...
40...beating depression with natural methods, music, etc because fk big pharma and their agenda
Impressive she can sing like that sitting down.
She's lip-syncing, unfortunately. I'm not trying to be a dick-- I'm a huge fan and have seen them live several times, but if you listen to the studio version side by side, it's clear.
@@tinal3017 The vocals could be recorded but it's not the studio version. The studio version has alot more echo and reverb than this.
@@tinal3017 well it’s the same person singing so I’m sure it would sound the same.
@@honeyyybeee569 studio versions never sound the same as a stripped/live version. listen to any of their going to hell acoustics and you’d know they were actually live. this is not.
@@Syrilian That can easily have more to do with decisions production makes, than the actual track, yes? For a stripped version, you would expect a somewhat more... streamlined sound. Which is exactly what this is. If you start with a recording with a ton of reverb, it's going to limit your ability to mold it how you want, so throwing it on later, for the album version, makes sense. Whether it's the specific version that's on the album, sans bells and whistles or not, depends more on her phrasing than reverb, which can be so manipulated. Juat saying.
Who needs heaven when you can hear Taylor's voice?
Angels are here
Heaven knows
@@user-iz8ei9fq8m they are coming for her
@@nllk11 I hope they dont, she is 27 now :/
heaven knows the answer to that question
One of the ultimate voices of our time. The control, the softness to the extreme. This voice is amazing. You are just an amazing singer, song writer, artist.
She's come a very long way since "Cindy Lou Who" !!!
Good lord, she has that much control in her voice and it does exactly what she wants it to while she's *SITTING DOWN*
like, damn, so talented.
When u can go from concert to studio to acoustic n sound the same, you're a serious talent. Ppl need to recognize!
Bruh it's just the same vocal track as studio version, not live
Wanna be recording enginerd identified!
Can't we all just enjoy good music without all the bs?
A delightfully dark song. I think I may even like this unplugged version more than the original. Gives me goose bumps when she shifts from rasp to falsetto.
Her voice is just so hauntingly beautiful. Pure magic.
I love how he rocks out on the piano, he is enjoying playing that song, as much as she is singing it.
How, I ask you How does that voice that can shake your whole body, that can create such a powerful sound come out of such a little woman?
Такой офигенный голос и тембр у Тейлор, я просто парю в небе, когда её слушаю.
Ну то, что она - красотка, думаю, и так всем понятно. ))
Was this written for the new james bond movie? Sounds like it should be. No time to die being the 25th bond film
it's not, unfortunately.
it should be!
Sadly it's not, after hearing this she just be given the song for bond 26.
If we just uswd the slipknot trick and called the first movie nr 0 it would still work
Completely agree, it should be!!!!
My best friend recently overdosed and she was 27, this song speaks to that so much, even though the title is 25.
I'm near to you my friend, I stopped with heroine, now I'm clean from 1 year but still I feel all the bad things. Keep going on. Hugs.
@@jimmyabort8763 I've been five years. It's gets better
In the interview she did after this song aired she said even though it's about her life it's also about how so many people (famous or not) die too young. The feels are there. Never give up
I’m so sorry for your loss. There are so many people hurting from things like this. It’s truly an epidemic and you are by no means alone. Stay strong.
@@jxp_shows There's a reason that she skips 27 in the song. It's a nod to the 27 club
to answer a question below, the piano player is Duncan Watt
As a retired editor I have to say that if I was given the Bond titles to edit, I would use this version rather than the full band. Her voice is so powerful that it would easily carry it. I had heard of her and the band before, but never listned. My bad. She is now in my list with Floor Jansen and Simone Simon of great rock voices.
Love her with soft makeup makes her look like such a grown lovely lady but is it just me that misses the black eye makeup she sure pulled it off while if I tried I'd look like a raccoon with a black eye lmao 🤣 she is blessed to look beautiful no matter what 🥰😍
She might still wear more dramatic makeup for concerts because it will show up more farther away from the stage
Olá pessoal! We are an alternative metal band and The Pretty Reckless is one of our biggest influences. So we made a cover version of the song "25" ua-cam.com/video/Di6c3-cD2ts/v-deo.html
She has grown up to be a beautiful woman.
This is so great. Feels like it could be a James bond song.
Her voice is so powerful you can see her whole body shake when she hits some of those notes. Stunning!
Her lower register is wonderful, but I think it's the unexpectedness of the direction that brings the most impact. I think almost every other singer would have gone higher when she goes lower. Wonderful effect.
Holy shit. So godamn talented! I've been your fan ever since Light me up and I'm so proud of the artist you've become
I've been listening since 2013 and they never fail every Album has been good start to finish and they manage to grow but not change so drastically that they don't feel like themselves they are the closest to the perfect band imo
@@papawheeliegaming5647 Exactly! Their essence remains the same but they've grown so much...well said!
Same here, I've only been a fan for over 3 years but I've never been disappointed with any music this band has put out. This album is actually my new favorite album of theirs.
I never really realized until today how much listening to The Pretty Reckless shaped my life as a teen and still now. I remember my dad showing me Heaven Knows when the music video first came out on YT, like 6 years ago, how I became hooked on pretty much every song they put out after that. They became my favorite band as a teen, and still are to this day. Hard to find bands sometimes these days that you can relate to even after I've left my extra angsty teenage times, but The Pretty Reckless definitely stood the test of times for me.
why isn't this version on spotify too. daaaamn. 10/10 (again!)
Absolutely love her voice, and this version of 25 is awesome
Прекрасное исполнение. Лучшая!
Прям не поспоришь
Охуенная
Who would thought 2 decades ago that a girl would save the rock n' roll? That is exactly what you are doing Taylor, I'm proud of you. Other bands got so soft, commercial and superficial. I'm so glad you are going in the opposite direction. Keep the real music alive
Look up the bands 10 Years and Nothing More on UA-cam. They are also amazing. There are still some amazing rock bands out there, they are just harder to find than they used to be.
Agree though, Taylor is amazing.
@@kingzach74 I tried but all bands that I really appreciate didn't go past the 2000's
@eagletail I disagree. Rock, specially in the 1990's, always had a different quality and spirit to it. And in my view the genre seems to be agonizing, so any relief to that is a welcoming "savior" to me.
BAND MAID says hello
Halestorm still kills too! Lzzy Hale and Taylor are keeping female rock bands alive!
The verses she sing about "four" and "ten" years are so fantastic! I love her voice!!
This version is even better than the original. Her voice is really beautiful.
It's literally the same vocal track as the original, not live
@@SolitaryReaper666 when I said this when this was first posted everyone jumped on me. Now I’m seeing it again I’m thinking that this might actually be a recording of the final version of the b vocal they used for the album..
You just gotta love Triple H going nuts on the piano
The way she gets into her own songs is so intriguing to me- it’s like she’s experiencing it from a fan perspective the way we are😁🤘🏻
Her voice gets right to your soul. UnFbelievable.
This is one of the best songs ever written and performed. I love coming back to it-it's like a palette cleansing, lol.
Goosebumps as soon as the singing began.. For me, this sounds so much better than th official recorded one. I would've have enjoyed you singing even without the piano, just your voice. That's how good you are.
'SHATTERS IN MY.. hand..'
Thank you Pretty Momsen. ❤️❤️
so damn talented
@Boop Beep woah thank u🥺 i guess u do too!
Wow!
This is actually better than the album version. Incredible vibe to it. Very cool lyrics to boot!
When u hit such low notes in an unplugged version.. nothing to back u up, except ur own vocals .. that’s sum serious talent! 😍😍
Soft and smooth finish in the ending, beautiful!
So much control over tone, pitch, and her yelling is so good. Love hearing her sing...
Love her voice! Her grit, her rasp, her tone so beautiful. She hits you with all the feels, can't wait to see what the pretty reckless has to come with future albums.
This just blew me away, got serious chills hearing this
Holy shit this is AWESOME!!
Not sure if it's because I'm 25 right now, but I'm vibing with the lyrics much more than I'd like 😅
Same 👌🏻
Likewise 😁🙏
Uncannily enough, almost every person that commented within this post, added an emoticon at the end, and frankly, I won't be the exception to that, 😉.
Our Rock n Roll Queen!!!
“Shatters in my hand” - working title of Bond 25 was Shatterhand
This totally has a Bond song vibe
Skip to eight, we called it fate
To live, to let us die another day
The 8th bond film was live and let die, die another day is also another bond film
And nine, I saw the signs
Reflected in the barrel of a gun
The 9th bond film is the man with the golden gun
Ten, we're here again
Those who loved me burned up in the sun
The 10th bond film was the spy who loved me.
Way too many bond references for it to be anything but written with bond in mind
@@TheHelmeted1
Also, would the next Bond movie not be the 25th?
I love her voice so much!!! Incredible!
Awesome, just awesome! The camera work when 21, 22.. count is going on. Showing the guy playing the piano and Taylor's voice. Just the powerful energy coming from this video! Just fucking awesome!
This song is so unique, I have never heard anything similar. So talented!
you haven't heard Halestorm - Familiar Taste Of Poison bruh?
this woman is amazing..he has a unique voice to shiver 🇧🇷
She's definitely a gift to this world especially during current times her voice gives me chills truly amazing can't wait for the album and for the day they tour again
Her voice is amazing
She is so damn beautiful. Her words, her voice and her entire being. So proud of this woman! 💚
The pure TALENT
She is so underrated 🖤
Taylor Momsen is a big part of the reason why I am who I am today.
Taylor is blessed with one of the best voices to EVER grace this planet. This song is sooooo frickin good. Just... wow!
The Bond theme vibes are strong in this awesome song. Even... "Die another die" in the lyrics. Great performance
She is amazing she has such good control of her voice it's such a low tone beautiful voice with power to it that surely packs a punch 😍💓 Also the whole band all together is just amazing. Go The Pretty Reckless you guys rock!!
I've listened to this song 300 times ... not enough. Hit the repeat button again
😍💖😍💖😍
Her voice is just so amazing
She looks so soft and sweet, but wow. The music... Her voice ... Her attitude.
I love her voice and I love this song ❤
These lyrics and back music got my hair stand up 😳 i can't believe I've only just discovered this band!!! This is absolutely POWERFUL 🔥🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️
This is insanely good song. This is what raw undigitized talent sounds like.
Taylor's voice + a piano =💖💖💖💖💖💖🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
I'm glad I discovered the Pretty Reckless, love your work
I will never stop being amazed by Taylor's voice and that's a fact❤
At each new song release Taylor is showing her exceptional talent, it is difficult to find words to describe the level of her performances. If someone would have told me when she was an actress that she would become a legend of rock, I would have laugh and here she is. I am bluffed. Since the 80's most of the voices are totally sampled and optimised note by note, Taylor doesn't need these manipulations, she is a real singer. She eclipses a bit the rest of her band by her look, her charisma and her talent, nevertheless the guys behind the instruments who have the wisdom to remain discreet are also excellent. Risking to shock people from Rolling Stone magazine and other supposed specialists of rock'n roll, the Pretty Reckless are probably already at the level of monsters like the Stones, Led Zeppelin, etc. maybe even better. The Pretty Reckless, what a pleasant surprise in this world society full of crap. Thanks for what your are doing guys. And please come back to the Montreux Jazz Festival, I want to see you live 😉.
Positively stellar! Best performance ever! This woman is an absolute legend!
Taylor, you are insanely talented , its a blessing for my ears to listen to you, thank you for your work!
Her voice is perfect.
It has given me goosebumps for quite long..... And her voice is so strong.....she is so underrated.....
Great song, executed perfectly, and with passionate intensity, just great music.
7&10 sounded like they were pretty rough, My heart hurts.
Just wow! Her voice and her control of it is insanely good.
She didnt even look up to the camera once !! Such an emotional and relatable song!!
Incredible. Hits home for me in several ways.
Love your new single Taylor!! Unplugged ver is the best!!!😍❤️❤️🤘
It's so rare to find female singers with such strong and husky voice. 💙
I have become an instant fan of her voice and their music. Rock is not dead! 🤗
She is so good! Her voice chills me to the bone.
This gives me chills, I adore it ❤️
vulgar display of power. absolute flex of an amazing voice
i'm so happy to see young talent in rock
She's fucking amazing and has amazing control. Such an under appreciated artist.
She has such an incredible voice. I thought it was digitally doctored, but it's really that good.
