    Wow, Adjeley, you're sweet l33l3! My hubby and kids love gari so much, so I always bring from Ghana, and pay excess baggage fees, just to make them happy. Now, I can make it myself right here in Virginia, and can have it anytime we're out!

    Gari helped pay my school fees, I'm not kidding here we used to make and sell it. All manually. This is so close to my heart sweet. We will put a bit of palm oil in it to change the color. Thanks for sharing, you're a rare gem 🙌👊👌🤗❤❤❤

    To people know casava came with the Portuguese who brought it from the West Indies. My people call this Farine and our we also have a peoples who are called Garifuna which mean Cassava eaters..

    @Sweet Adjeley Hello. Thanks for this I can now make my garri at home finally. Flight tickets are expensive and I can't buy online. I have a question though. What can we do with the starch gotten from the garri making . have any idea?

    Ahh having been in Nigeria in the eighties I enjoyed gari and I have been trying to find a way of making it for myself in Uganda but you're God sent to me now I will try it myself. Thanks ever so much for sharing.👍

    I tried making gari last time but didn't come out nice. Will try it again and this time my dough will be left out for 3days instead of a 24hrs. Thanks Sweet!❣❣

    It is also important to ferment garri because cassava contains cyanide, which is poisonous and the fermentation process removes it. The roasting also further breaks down any cyanide left after fermentation. Unfermented could be unsafe to eat.
