The lenses were not focusing the same areas. Sometimes the Canon shows the leaves sharper than the flowers, while the Sigma shows the flowers sharper than the leaves...etc.
+Big G photo I know but for some reason I noticed that the two lenses were not showing the same sharp areas. For example, take the yellow flower pictures (your 3rd example). The sigma shows the yellow flower sharper while the Canon shows the piece of grass in front sharper (I mean the piece of grass in front of the yellow flower). Next, take the example of the white flowers tree (you 4th example), the Sigma shows the white flowers sharper than with the Canon, but the Canon shows the leaves in front of the flowers much sharper...etc.
You got it mixed up on the side by side comparison. In the alone comparison, the #65 was the canon, but in the side by side, the #66 was canon. Which is which?
I think you have inverted the images in comparison.

Shooting with this tiny depth of field at f1.4 any slight movement of your body or the object you shoot would result in out of focus areas.

How did you find the AF speed difference?
Sigma was slightly faster
its better to use lettering to focus on, lettering on the camera box for example! Keep it simple!
good info, easy to listen to voice. but i had to stop the video. the mouse clicks were getting to me.
