I'm so happy to see it restored!! I was born in 65 and raised here. I still remember going there as a kid. Our parents cruised mountain roads for family time as us kids road in the back of the pickup❤ thanks for sharing!

Such a amazing place to spend the night. I would think it would feel like living on top of the world up that high. Your cooking made me so hungry :) That is the only outhouse that I have seen with a window, I think it is awesome ! I so enjoyed the views on this and the past camera shots. Happy Adventures 😀
Thank ya! The outhouse with the window definitely makes a person feel vulnerable, but I guess it added to the excitement. Haha!
Great video! We have it reserved for two nights this week and our Subaru forester just died…think a regular sedan could make it up the road or is it pretty rough?

@@TheAdventureCloset I don't think so. I've never heard of any here. We don't get surprise fires because we are so flat. We do get fires for sure but I would think any towers would be over in the far west near Big Bend and/or the Guadalupe Mts. ---well google says we do...gonna have to see about that 😆
Makes sense since it is flat. We'll be down in Texas later this year for the first time. Looking forward to it.

Can you hike with a dog on a leash there?
Yes, dogs are allowed on a leash.
Do you need a forest service pass to park at the trail head?
The WTA website says you need a Discover Pass to park at the trailhead, we always bring both Forest Pass and Discover pass just in case.

Please stay off the MTB trails. They are not meant for hiking and we are traveling at high rates of speed.
Please be aware that some of the trails there are actually multi-use. In the video we show you how to tell. We are well aware to stay alert. We made this video for Friends of North Mountain and they definitely approved of our message. Happy trails to you.
@@TheAdventureCloset We certainly appreciate you staying to the multiuse trails, however, there are many entitled hikers that do “accidentally” wander onto our trails which poses a safety risk for everyone. Thanks in advance for educating the masses.
