    Thanks for the video. Using Vcarve for work to route simple shapes. Very helpful to get so many tips in one place on one video. EPS stands for encapsulated postscript file which is a vector file much like the Ai (Adobe Illustrator) file but more versatile in application and not limited to Adobe programs. Both use code to scale and image creating a vectored image rather than using pixels in a given space that will distort when scaled. All that to say they are both used for printing purposes usually.

Quick questions though.... when I was following along in this video, when you choose the V bit and hit calculate, it calculated the path but when I did it I got a warning that: Tool will cut through material. The current tool cutting depth will exceed the material thickness. Material Thickness is 49mm (which I check in set up) Maximum tool depth is 88.5 ( can't see anywhere to change that or even if I can with a V bit ( using a 60-1/4 ) Any Suggestions?

    Garrett, bless you for all your work in helping beginners in getting started. As a newbie I love your videos. I have a question about 4 axis files. When I create my design in vCarve (Vectric software), then go to the tool path side and create the tool path I save it as I would any file, placing it in a specific place on my hard drive. When I open those files in gSender to start running a job (after setting the router up, of course) I get a message telling me a 4 Axis file has been loaded and is not supported at this time. Where do I go from here? Thanks.

    Please help. Intermediate user and I've hit a wall I can't get around. I have some clip art and converted it to an SVG file, I then imported the file into Vcarve Desktop. For ease of explanation, here's what I am trying to do. Example: The SVG file is a 1/4 inch thick line, but vcarve wants to trace around the line creating two separate paths on the inner and outer sides instead of one path down the middle creating the 1/4 inch line. Did that make sense? How can I do this?

    • @IDCWoodcraft
      @IDCWoodcraft  Рік тому

      Wil, you will need to enclose the two lines to be able to carve the area out between the two lines. This is much like trying to carve out a pocket toolpath. Send me an email with some screenshots and I will provide you with some suggestions.

    Is it possible to import setups from Coreldraw to Vectric without having to resetup the image or graphic?

    • @IDCWoodcraft
      @IDCWoodcraft  6 днів тому +1

      socorrohernandez52, Great question! While Vectric does allow for some importation of files from CorelDRAW, it's often necessary to adjust the settings or paths in Vectric after the import. The compatibility can vary based on the complexity of the design, so you might still need to fine-tune things a bit. • @IDCWoodcraft

      mattivirta, To convert a webp or jpeg picture for use in VCarve, you'll want to first open the image in software that allows you to adjust the dimensions. Make sure to resize the image according to your desired scale while maintaining the aspect ratio. Then, save it in a compatible format like BMP or PNG before importing it into VCarve.
