    Thanks for the video. I actually teach a high school automation class with 2 cnc routers in the class. I have a few online students who are not physically in class but remotely log in daily. I was looking for a tutorial to use for my online kids and couldn't find anything from Vectric that did a good job of showing how to trace a bitmap so I started to search a bit to see what else was out in the world. That's how I found your video. You do a good job showing details that is exactly what I was looking for.

      are there less features in the drawing mode and using the tootpath tab, as to closing the the drawing tab and opening the toolpath tab. Im not really understanding what is different by using each way. You said the first way was for small corrections and the other is what you should use as the main way.

    The Bitmap fading basically controls how light or dark your bit map is shown. It does not effect the outcome. The other thing I would do is select all the vectors, go to convert to curves and try the selections in that panel. It will either remove nodes or add them depending on the picture but the outcome is very good depending on your selection.
    One thing Garret, perhaps since your in the tooling area could explain the Flat Depth feature rather than having to create another video explaining that.

    Hi Garrett. I was wondering if I can't seem to locate a particular vector tool, or has Vectric totally removed it in Version 12 upgrade. The tool in particular is one which allows a person to curve text. It not the tool which allows you to place text on a curve, but rather when the text is chosen, and you choose this particular tool, it allows you to curve the text either up or down.

    • @IDCWoodcraft

    • @IDCWoodcraft
      @IDCWoodcraft  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Bruce. I have to say, I never recommend beginner amchines. A person quickly finds they have limited themselves and most of the time, they are not supported by the companies that make them. Also, you will find they are not robust enough to handle even the simplest jobs without problems in cut quality.

    Curious, assuming I am using V-Carve Pro, If I am looking for files online for vcarve and pocketing toolpaths (non-3D), what types of files do you suggest to look for most of the time? I see all kinds of info on .jpg, .dxf, .svg, (etc.). How do we know what type of file extension works best in a particular situation?

    • @IDCWoodcraft
      @IDCWoodcraft  2 роки тому

      Hi Mickey. They all create vectors. It is understand how the files tpys are created. DXF is a file where all the lines are on the same layer. SVG will import on different layers of the file was created like that. SVG files created the roght way are the best. Of course, it also depends on the software you use. If it can import the file. SVG is the standard however.
