I’m currently stationed in Okinawa and was at this show. We don’t ask much for people’s recognition or appreciation, we understand this is a thankless job. But AA went far out of their way to show theirs to all of us. I cannot say how grateful everyone here is for what they did. This is a beautiful thing.
Well thank YOU sir! I am not even American but was in the forces and have the utmost respect for you guys and what you do every day. I LOVE this song and what it represents. Keep safe guys
Thank you for your service. I'm not American, but I truly, deeply appreciate what you guys do. You sacrifice everything for others, and that's the most brave thing I've ever witnessed. Thank you so, so much sir.
My Dad is retired MGySgt, Marine Corps (26yrs). For this song, for making my daughter's dream come true (her seeing her top three bands, AA/BVB/CTE, live at The Pageant, STL) by graciously putting her name on you guest list without hesitation (I couldn't have done it without your help), and for just being a KICKASS, FREAKIN' ROCKIN' FREAKIN' band... from the bottom of this Marine Brat's/Mother's heart, THANK YOU AA! You guys are the BESTEST!
motionlessinashes I lit up when I saw in the intro , im currently serving and a couple of my buddies are in Okinawa, it's amazing what these bands do for those serving
motionlessinashes love this band! And I’ve got a brother In the Air Force. Father is retired Air Force, Uncle was Army medic in Vietnam and my best friend is current Army, he might be deployed soon. Means a lot. Then the fact one of my favorite bands would not only play at a MC base but one in Japan is amazing! Most of these men and women go through unspeakable things so that we don’t have too and that we don’t experience bad things happening on our soil! They give so much and so it means a lot when civilians can at the least give something little in return!

This randomly helped me. I’m a couple months away from going to Basic Training for the Marine Corps in Paris Island. Back in September I had to move out of state from my mom and all of my friends and practical family, all of my loved ones around me. It was for reasons that couldn’t be helped, but there are time where I can’t help feeling sad from the separation. These days I’m training on my own, prepping myself to be the best Marine I can possibly be. As I feel like I’m doing so much in life by myself, it helps to think of all the people personally connected to me and caring for/supporting me with everything I’m doing. Thank you Asking Alexandria.
I love this acoustic version so damn much, it's beautiful! And thank you to all the troops that serve and have served, you brave men and women are awesome and god bless you all
Can’t believe I was featured in this song at the end thank you so much to you guys for coming out and visiting us and so glad I was able to hangout with y’all here love from us at 9th ESB, camp Hansen Okinawa 🤘🏻
As a son of a Vietnam Vet I'm grateful for the finest men and women defending our land of thee... If my father never made it back I wouldn't exist. From a huge fan of both our armed force family and the AA family I thank everyone who has a ounce of humanity in their soul. Make a difference everyday in some way somehow. Thank you for being a light in the darkness
Danny is one of the best vocalists in the game right now (my opinion) The dominance in his voice surprises me every time. Also i want to thank AA for dedicating a song to our soldiers and veterans.
Marko Anger The first verse is about his grandfather, the second verse is for his parents and the third is for Ben. I didn't wrote the lyrics I am just a huge fan of AA
-Medusa- -Medusa- you didn't read the beginning did you lol. It was reimagined to honor soldiers. No it was not originally portrayed this way, but this version is lol
-Medusa- you obviously don't pay attention. It obviously isn't as far as the original, but THISS version is dedicated for the friends and family of those serving
Army veteran here listening to this the day before Dec. 7th. My grandad was a Marine stationed in Okinawa in WWII. Hitting me right in the feels. Thank you so much AA for your support of our troops.
My mother served in Okinawa this brought me back to my roots and my birthplace. I hope to go back one day. Thank you Asking Alexandria, this is absolutely beautiful and very touching. I wish more Americans would appreciate the sacrifices these men and women make for this country, which seems to be, by the day growing more and more ungreatful and self centered
Ever since Danny returned, AA really has changed.... they’re more connected with people and their music now, I feel. I’m just happy they are so willing to do meaningful and appreciative actions such as creating this video! Well done guys!
I’m now obsessed with this beautiful song. Listening to all three versions on Apple Music. This one, the original, and of course beautiful Ben’s wonderful acoustic version.
The fact that foreigners appreciate our troops more than most Americans really says something. AA has always been one of my favorite bands, but this video and their said respect put them damn near the top for me. Thank you to anyone who’s served, is serving, or those who intend to serve.
Thank you Asking Alexander..I get a chance I'm sending this to my beautiful daughter who just left for Navy boot camp in Great Lakes IL..bless you and thank you again..Navy mom..
It's nice that Danny actually put in the effort to re-record this. Many bands (even Asking themselves) have been known to simply add the original lyrics over some acoustics.
Danny you sound so much better now that your home with the band that fits you but thank God for everything you have been through because this acoustic recording has so much more heart and emotion in or voice then the one after this song came out to public
Even though I'm on my own, I know I'm not alone Because I know there's someone, somewhere praying that I make it home So here's one from the heart, my life right from the start I need a home sweet home to call my own It was you that told me I could do this You put the music in my heart And how you sang with the band in memphis It's hard just to be strong not knowing if I've done you proud I like to imagine you smile when you hear my songs Even though I'm on my own, I know I'm not alone Because I know there's someone, somewhere praying that I make it home So here's one from the heart, my life right from the start I need a home sweet home to call my own A letter home and I know we don't speak much And we both know I'm not keen to but I think there's things I've left unsaid I'm okay don't worry I wish I'd been a better kid I'm trying to slow down I'm sorry for letting you down Even though I'm on my own, I know I'm not alone Because I know there's someone, somewhere praying that I make it home So here's one from the heart, my life right from the start I need a home sweet home to call my own You know it's just rock and roll I know you're by my side through it all My terror twin and I Let's take over the world Even though I'm on my own, I know I'm not alone Because I know there's someone, somewhere praying that I make it home So here's one from the heart, my life right from the start I need a home sweet home to call my own
In every uniform, behind every visor, in every tank, there is a son, a daughter, a partner, a brother, a sister, a dad, a mum, a soulmate, a best friend, a pet owner, a grandson, a godfather, a community member, a teammate, a biggest fan, a role model, a lover, neighbour, a flatmate, a supporter, a person who pays another person's bills, a volunteer, a political supporter, a chat friend, a caregiver, a friend with benefits, ... In the US army and in every other army. I love this collaboration and video, because it demystifies the role of the soldier: soldiers are humans before anything else. In my eyes, you give soldiers a bit of their humanity in a tense situation, a personality despite uniform(ity) - without stripping them off their soldier role.
I'm 20 and this brings me close to crying, I'm not in the military, THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO SERVE, my minds takes me back to when I was a child, and how happy I was then, and I miss being with them, I miss being loved, i miss my dad, keep close to them because when they are gone, they are gone for good
From New Zealand and went to England for a trip with a family member in 2015. They ended up going back home without telling anyone. I was stuck there for 3 weeks, only 18 y/o. Lucky i just met some family that took me in and helped get back home. I listened to this every day and it helped me in more ways that i can ever explain! I am so so happy to see you guys doing this :) this song really does have so much meaning
What an incredible reimagining of one of R&R best songs... the original is one of my favourite AA songs. But this stripped acoustic is so beautiful, it lifts your soul and shines a path that helps you find happiness.
This album dropped the year my best friend passed and AA was his favorite band. This song hits me hard, never knew this version existed. Also an Army Veteran.
Actual lyrics: [Chorus] Even though I'm on my own I know I'm not alone 'Cause I know there's someone, somewhere Praying that I make it home So here's one from the heart My life right from the start I need a home, sweet home [Verse 1] It was you That told me I could do this You put the music in my heart And how you sang with the band in Memphis It's hard just to be strong Not knowing if I've done you proud I like to imagine You smile when you hear my songs [Chorus] Even though I'm on my own I know I'm not alone 'Cause I know there's someone, somewhere Praying that I make it home So here's one from the heart My life right from the start I need a home, sweet home To call my own [Verse 2] A letter home And I know we don't speak much And we both know I'm not keen to But I think there's things I've left unsaid I'm okay, don't worry I'm trying to be a better man I'm going to try, yeah! [Chorus] Even though I'm on my own I know I'm not alone 'Cause I know there's someone, somewhere Praying that I make it home So here's one from the heart My life right from the start I need a home, sweet home To call my own! Woah-woah-woah, yeah yeah! [Bridge] Even though I'm on my own I know I'm not alone 'Cause I know there's someone, somewhere Praying that I make it home [Chorus] Even though I'm on my own I know I'm not alone 'Cause I know there's someone, somewhere Praying that I make it home So here's one from the heart My life right from the start I need a home, sweet home To call my own Even though I'm on my own I know I'm not alone 'Cause I know there's someone, somewhere Praying that I make it home So here's one from the heart My life right from the start I need a home, sweet home

Vivi Strawberry essa é muito boa eu redescobri a banda praticamente achava o scream muito alto ae não escutava mas essas versões mais leves nossa viciei kkkkk
My brother once told me, “It’s been a decade, you can let the Army stuff go.” -I’m a 60% disabled veteran in 24/7 nerve pain. I stumble out of the bed in the morning because my legs get stiff and won’t work right sometimes. Even ppl close often don’t really understand what it means to live the sacrifice you’ve made every day for the rest of your life. My wife and daughter waited on me, her and our kids are by my side everyday, and they are all I need in this world anyway.
Thank you for your sacrifice brother. I have a very close friend that is a former Marine. Has gone through multiple knee surgeries and just went through another recently. Also suffers from insomnia among other issues he doesn't make public. The sacrifice is greater than many, including me, will never truly understand. So glad you have a beautiful family to be there by your side. Take care brother 💪🙌
It's incredible that someone who isn't native to our country is appreciative to us service men and women of the USA. It's incredibly humbling to see this. Thank you very much AA. You guys rock 🤘
Thank you for what you do Asking Alexandria. The men and women serving right now definitely need the support. We all fight for the better and that's what all service members do.
Semper Fi lads. I can't express what it means to see a UK band show more respect to our armed forces than so many bands who are from this country have shown. - 6317 5 year vet
Wow. Just. Wow. The only reason im crying is bc not only is this beautiful, its that im moving even though i was told i would stay here until i was 18. And i was told i was moving. im moving in july, and i just think about the chorus. It makes me cry.
HopeToTheWEAK my respect to those brave men, im in the army myself but your great uncle made the biggest sacrifice one can make for his country and his family
I don’t know what’s more of a coincidence... The fact that I ran into this song as an old fan, thinking a great deal this past month about being back on deployments (Navy) next year with the first time leaving my new baby girl. Or the fact that the Marine in the beginning has the same last name as me (Mendoza) Definitely didn’t cry
thank you Asking Alexandria I'm private first class Westerweller and I'm in the US army and I'm a fan of yours I appreciate your art work and music talent I hope to see you in concert some day
Just finished deployment and was at the concert... 4:12 I'm in it. Great concert great guys. Got a few picks. They're very humble. This video is great and the song is a favorite
I hope yours and my own country can maintain peace, I think it's all overly inflated within the US media to be honest. From a 68w (combat medic) to you, stay safe out there soldier.
they cannot live peacefully, since the Russian Federation is an empire, the same France of the time of Napoleon, and Germany of the time of Hitler. They have intensified propaganda that all (countries) are around enemies, and this implies that the enemies must be destroyed.

As a marine it makes me so happy to see asking Alexandria do something like this. I wish more bands would do the same.

August Burns Red im pretty sure the americans like their troops the most... viewpoints on army are so much different in other countrys...
Rick van Boven do you happen to live in America? Do you understand there’s been a harsh backlash ever since the war in Vietnam?
dude, every american ever likes the troops and pays respect on social media all the time
Sibyeelle Janin you obviously don’t live in America.
August Burns Red i obviously don't but i obviously check out social media enough to know about this kind of things

4 versions of this song
The O.G
The first acoustic
The Ben acoustic
And then there's this and they are all still fucking good
Paradox Echo Covers dont forget the remix, its also good
Samuel Korpela you're right can't believe I forgot that one
Skyrim made by Asking Alexandria xD
And the demo version, a little bit different 😉
Ben's version is best
Even though I'm on my own, I know I'm not alone
Because I know there's someone, somewhere praying that I make it home
So here's one from the heart, my life right from the start
I need a home sweet home to call my own
It was you that told me I could do this
You put the music in my heart
And how you sang with the band in memphis
It's hard just to be strong not knowing if I've done you proud
I like to imagine you smile when you hear my songs
Even though I'm on my own, I know I'm not alone
Because I know there's someone, somewhere praying that I make it home
So here's one from the heart, my life right from the start
I need a home sweet home to call my own
A letter home and I know we don't speak much
And we both know I'm not keen to but I think there's things I've left unsaid
I'm okay don't worry
I wish I'd been a better kid
I'm trying to slow down
I'm sorry for letting you down
Even though I'm on my own, I know I'm not alone
Because I know there's someone, somewhere praying that I make it home
So here's one from the heart, my life right from the start
I need a home sweet home to call my own
You know it's just rock and roll
I know you're by my side through it all
My terror twin and I
Let's take over the world
Even though I'm on my own, I know I'm not alone
Because I know there's someone, somewhere praying that I make it home
So here's one from the heart, my life right from the start
I need a home sweet home to call my own

What an incredible reimagining of one of R&R best songs... the original is one of my favourite AA songs. But this stripped acoustic is so beautiful, it lifts your soul and shines a path that helps you find happiness.

So glad that DANNY is BACK!!!

Phantom Gaming of course bro
Danny never left, this was just a vacation programed with Denis
Me too, so much better than the other singer! Cant even remember his name
HE IS?!?!?!?! REALLY?!
Actual lyrics:
[Chorus]
Even though I'm on my own
I know I'm not alone
'Cause I know there's someone, somewhere
Praying that I make it home
So here's one from the heart
My life right from the start
I need a home, sweet home
[Verse 1]
It was you
That told me I could do this
You put the music in my heart
And how you sang with the band in Memphis
It's hard just to be strong
Not knowing if I've done you proud
I like to imagine
You smile when you hear my songs
[Chorus]
Even though I'm on my own
I know I'm not alone
'Cause I know there's someone, somewhere
Praying that I make it home
So here's one from the heart
My life right from the start
I need a home, sweet home
To call my own
[Verse 2]
A letter home
And I know we don't speak much
And we both know I'm not keen to
But I think there's things I've left unsaid
I'm okay, don't worry
I'm trying to be a better man
I'm going to try, yeah!
[Chorus]
Even though I'm on my own
I know I'm not alone
'Cause I know there's someone, somewhere
Praying that I make it home
So here's one from the heart
My life right from the start
I need a home, sweet home
To call my own!
Woah-woah-woah, yeah yeah!
[Bridge]
Even though I'm on my own
I know I'm not alone
'Cause I know there's someone, somewhere
Praying that I make it home
[Chorus]
Even though I'm on my own
I know I'm not alone
'Cause I know there's someone, somewhere
Praying that I make it home
So here's one from the heart
My life right from the start
I need a home, sweet home
To call my own
Even though I'm on my own
I know I'm not alone
'Cause I know there's someone, somewhere
Praying that I make it home
So here's one from the heart
My life right from the start
I need a home, sweet home

Interesting. The way I heard it was "I'm trying to be a better man,
Oh god, I'm trying"
Dante yeah that's what he said... and the lyrics he posted aren't the "original". Look up the originals lol

you have the originals in the description of the video, ppl never tend to go search there xD ( i think it's just part of us to ignore that i guess)

When the song is amazing and the lyrics are beneficial to your relationship w/ the Lord.
I've been listing to Asking Alexandria since 2010.
They are such amazing people. :)) you guys stay awesome

Asking "ALEXANDRIA"
Eu que não manjo muito de inglês fiquei emocionado... AA Family
My husbands been on deployment since February and me and our 9 month old baby boy miss him more every day... they are awesome for doing this.
Semper Fi lads. I can't express what it means to see a UK band show more respect to our armed forces than so many bands who are from this country have shown.

Heard this live in Richmond, VA - absolutely flawless, beautiful video
Hey, that's where I'm from! Where was it at?
I'm from that area as well, also serving with the Marines in Richmond. It makes it that much more meaningful to me, personally!
The Vocal harmonies that occasionally occur in this song are amazing. Just the "woaahhhhh"s in the song really give it a great vibe.
I love bands that support our Military. US Army combat vet here. OEF 8-9. I love Asking Alexandria. Need to see you guys!! 😍
Isto é a perfeição em forma de música ❤

Wow. Just. Wow. The only reason im crying is bc not only is this beautiful, its that im moving even though i was told i would stay here until i was 18. And i was told i was moving. im moving in july, and i just think about the chorus. It makes me cry.
Wow this was unexpected
HopeToTheWEAK my respect to those brave men, im in the army myself but your great uncle made the biggest sacrifice one can make for his country and his family

For Me This Asking Alexandria Song Still Chill till now
Same✌🏽still sat here bangin this tune as if it just came out 🤣🤣🤣
i was at this concert and i honestly wasnt expecting to be in tears. I loved every bit of it and im happy i went.
I don’t know what’s more of a coincidence...
The fact that I ran into this song as an old fan, thinking a great deal this past month about being back on deployments (Navy) next year with the first time leaving my new baby girl.
Or the fact that the Marine in the beginning has the same last name as me (Mendoza)
Definitely didn’t cry
AA ALWAYS IN MY HEART

Just finished deployment and was at the concert... 4:12 I'm in it. Great concert great guys. Got a few picks. They're very humble. This video is great and the song is a favorite
I m a military man from Russia, i love this song
I hope yours and my own country can maintain peace, I think it's all overly inflated within the US media to be honest. From a 68w (combat medic) to you, stay safe out there soldier.
i belive in this to))
they cannot live peacefully, since the Russian Federation is an empire, the same France of the time of Napoleon, and Germany of the time of Hitler. They have intensified propaganda that all (countries) are around enemies, and this implies that the enemies must be destroyed.
мы ваш "Перл-харбор" не бомбили, хрен ли вы окупировали наш крым?
