I'm about the same age as you and I also feel like I'm entering a new chapter, not just bc of turning 30 but just a feeling like this time around is different. trying and failing at these things so many times has been exhausting. The ego makes you think "oh everyone else does it so whatever, I'll give in" but that's the mold we have to break. its hard to set yourself apart but the rewards are for sure worth it. commenting to hold myself accountable, and hopefully some of you can comment under here to hold yourself accountable as well. It is all progress in my mind. Progress is not linear and just the fact that you try to care for yourself by making changes, and build yourself a future sets you apart from many others. I'd suggest educating yourself on sr and nofap science. Deep dive and gain knowledge. This will make you understand what you are trying to do on a deeper level so that willpower is only needed for the first few weeks to kick the physical habit. From there it's about wisdom and discernment. Good luck brother.
I've also been slacking and not even been attempting to retain for the past couple of months. But i'm ready to get back on a good streak. One thing i've noticed clearly is that when i'm not on SR and watching the sites regularly, i'm just not in as good a mood as i am when im on a streak. Like its a big difference. On a streak I feel motivated, excited about things and just more optimistic. Anyway, do you have any tips on how to get through the first 2 weeks? I find these the hardest then it becomes more normal.
