And the reason retaining it makes you feel stronger, even in marriage, is because you still fulfilled the need by dabbling with that kind of energy, thus satisfying your nafs (meaning, the river must always be flowing, if it does not flow and becomes stagnant, you will literally die, the heart always needs an activity whatever it may be to derive its energy or strength, no matter what the activity is, lowly or not), BUT ALSO holding it back, hence the excess strength.
