One thing can be done like. 1. If auto driver refuse a ride there account should be disabled for 5 hr and rejection fee should be deducted and given to costomer. 2. if a costomer cancel a ride then cancellation charge should be deducted and given to the auto driver. Only if point 1 is implemented
I'm not from Bangalore. Few months before I went to see my relative who was admitted at Ramayya hospital. I booked auto he took so much time so I took another auto he called me and abused I said I was in emergency n even said to pay him.. but he went on abusing. He didn't understand my situation. I felt bad.
I'm from Northeast India, while I was staying in Bangalore I've face so many hate crimes and discrimination.....even the police department are racists towards NE and north Indian people... during covid I booked a train to come home and in the bengaluru cantonment RS some guys in uniform were roaming around upon seeing me they charged me 250rs for not wearing masks properly while I was wearing my mask , what happened was I was talking with my parents on my phone, because of the crowd noise ,I went to the corner and I pulled down my mask just a bit ,they immediately called me and started charging me fines (tbh their eyes were on me from the beginning)... I paid the fine....the irony was, I have my mask and I was still wearing it, I just pulled it down for a sec to have a convo.. while all the people around me including all the other passengers ,cab drivers were roaming around with no Mask!!!!!!! I asked politely to the officer why was I the only one being charged while others didn't even had one with them,,, he replied that they have already paid their fine (which I know no one has but was very idiotic to answer like that 😅) so they can stay without mask!!!..... what's the point of wearing it then??? if just by paying money to the officers we can be saved then y bother wearing one I asked... THEY SHUT ME DOWN.....wish I've recorded the moment I could have file FIR for hate crime and discrimination p.s :-everytime I think about the incident, it traumatized me, it pains my heart a lot... being an Indian citizen myself I had to face such hate crime and discrimination from the police department itself in a broad daylight in public... if it was just a common people being racists towards me then I usually just eat it silently but even the police department are being racists and committing hate crime then whom shall we trust??? whom shall we go to when people like me needs help?? I feel so scared and unsafe everyday knowing that I couldn't even trust the PD....
Most of the police are being recruited from other towns and districts of karnataka they have never seen anybody from north eastern region that's the problem

I have lived in bangalore for 7 years and had a tough time with bangalore auto drivers... They have demanded more money, acted rude, not used meter, cancelled rides... Not a good experience at all... I have seen auto driver's fighting and abusing some students near majestic bus stand and i was shocked and scared by their behaviour.... I had decided long back to avoid bangalore autos long back to save my peace of mind.... Also I can speak kannada very well and im from Karnataka... But still, I have had a horrible experience many a times with Bangalore auto driver's

If we passenger book the auto .. The auto driver will cancel. The auto driver do this 100 times cancellation in a day. Than passengers can slap him?. Banglore auto driver are very rude to the coustomer all time and they never come to pick up on time and before they come to our location they will call us and asked which location is dropping and asked how much money showing tn if we say more money than they will come but if is less amount price than they will cancel the booking and naver accept

The apps also charges us fine for undue cancellations . So cancelling a ride is our option which we have every right to exercise , as does from the Ola/uber drivers . These kind of animals who don’t knw how to behave shud quit their jobs , learn some manners before entering into a society.

Nobody has the right to punish anybody. I wait for minimum 30 minutes for the auto booking to get accepted every single day. When the auto gets accepted, i m not sure till the auto reaches the location. After waiting for 10 mins after the booking gets accepted, the driver cancels the ride. So in this situation, people are forced to try booking with diff service providers. If professionalism and ethics are maintained, nobody will have problem
If the auto drivers have a problem with cancellation, it is on the ride hailing app to find a resolution. It's not the fault of the end-customer. The ride hailing app's are responsible to resolve the issues raised by the auto drivers.

Auto drivers also cancel. We book and wait for 5-10 min and suddenly we see the auto has cancelled so we have to book again and the rates may also have increased in those few min. The reporter had to ask these autos that they also cancel putting customers in hardship. Would have loved to see their replies. Dont go by their justification that they suffer in crores because of a cancellation. Heard the auto driver who slapped the lady is behind bars and has to pay Rs 30 K for bail and his license may also get revoked. Even auto driver use 2 or 3 apps together, they will accept, butvthen if any other ride comes, with better offer, they will cancel the previous ride and accept the new one, even we wait, we r not sure even the driver will come or not, till they arrive.

Most if them are saying Customers book from two different Apps at the same time and cancel one. Why customers do that because usually Auto/Cab Drivers cancel the ride when they call to confirm the pick-up location they usually ask about Drop location. With this Customers are left with no other option to book another one as a back-up. I have experienced that so many times, I hope others have too. This concept of booking from two apps simultaneously started because of Customers being unsure about the ride they booked from the Auto/Cab.

Companies pay drivers if signicant time was lost waiting and even if they don't, drivers must be aware of this policy and still onboarded to this platforms. While booking auto ...if I can recollect more than 10 times in last 2 years autos have cancelled my rides due to below reasons. 1. No wallet payment only cash. 2. Pick up distance is more. They don't even tell also that they will not come. 3. Night time after asking the amount showing in app. 4. After hearing the drop location. I never abused or spoke rudely to anyone than how that guy has rights and guts to talk shit and torture someone.
I never book two rides at the same time, even when I'm in a rush, because I can understand the struggles of those drivers who work hard to earn a living, even if it's just 10 rupees.
First read the full case . Her friend booked the ride without telling her. Both of them by mistake booked it. One had to cancel . Ride was just 1 min away. No gas was wasted . Slapping someone for 1000 rs is also wrong. He could have simply vented

I once met a auto guy he said due to some local crackheads the whole city name is spoiling. He said I was born in Bengaluru and we are very happy people welcoming everyone to our culture and city.
the issue is on both sides. Two autos were booked by the rider and she had cancelled this driver’s ride only after he arrived at the pickup location. He had to travel 2-3 kms to reach the destination, only to get a cancellation. The mistake on driver’s side is to manhandle her when she shot the video. People should think and act as one mistake is all it takes to turn the entire situation against them. Both of them should’ve talked out of the situation. If the driver had not involved in physical assault or manhandling, then his side is entirely correct. The so called victim (rider) is also equally guilty but she escaped playing the victim card here. I as a customer have also suffered from such cancellation issues from auto drivers but it doesn’t make it fair if I do that to them. What sense it makes? I’m not even taking revenge on the driver who cancelled my rides in the past, I’m just showing my anger on another driver which he doesn’t deserve. Now, to people who call Bengaluru or South states as unsafe/uncivilised: People from my state (Tamil Nadu) and all over India flood Bengaluru for their livelihood. I think the root cause is, the middleman here.. companies like ola, Uber.. Auto drivers cancelled many times after asking the fare. Do customers harass them like this? Sometimes auto drivers accept the ride and doesn’t move for few mins when it will be an emergency situation. They will ask extra costs or else they will cancel. Cancellation fee is applied when customer cancels. But I don’t if its applied to auto drivers too.

Many a times these Auto/Cab drivers cancel the ride. Abusing, threatening, bullying in this case cannot be tolerated. Stringent action must be taken expedetiously against this Auto driver.
As The driver is connected with some online ride booking service, if any cancelation happens the driver should enquire with the company not the customer because cancelation feature is added by the company. Abuse by the auto driver was not right decision Many times the cab driver canceled the ride and we had to pay the cancelation charge and our account was also blocked due to frequent cancelation So the cab or auto service online booking company should make all these things right. This is the drawback of the online cab or auto booking service
Every time i cancelled any of ola or uber due to 10-15 mins waiting... Im still charged for the cancellation. Whenever i book ola or uber of any vehicles i often called up the driver immediately n asking how minutes he will take. They often said 3-5 mins but never happened. Cancellation is not free at all... There is often a charged like Rs. 25 or Rs.50 some time.
In the end, it's always the common people on both sides who suffer. No one ever questions companies like Ola or Uber about paying their drivers fairly, while the corporate giants continue to profit

@@flaway-678my point is all these issues will be solved if the ride companies step in, they are not worried about both the sides. No one should suffer neither the customer nor the driver. There should be limited cancellations allowed for the drivers as emergency and deduct some money for them if they do so and also same needs to be done on passenger side too, some cancellation fees if we do so.
I faced a bitter experience is Bangalore. After paying as per Ola App fare after reaching destination i could not book next trip. I was continuosly getting message informing that my ride fee not paid. So also it was not accepting my subsequent bookings. I took with their grievance cell but nothing happened. I was forced pay 2 fares for single ride. Government should take strong action in these things.
I am sharing an incident happened with me. I booked in Ola on April 2024 from Marathahalli to krpuram to take the metro to SBC. Ola accepted, shown 500mtrs away for around 15mins then cancelled from his end. Now what actions need to be taken if auto drivers cancelling the bookings.

Auto drivers also cancel ride every other day on their own after accepting it. This happens everyday they accept ride call up and check where is the drop then delay pickup and cancel ride after long time. It goes both ways.
@ So South why don’t you take a survey from the passengers? Let me tell you for records, auto drivers behaviour in Bangalore was worst even before Ola Uber came to market. Earlier when we used cash they never gave you back the change. If we asked they used to abuse us. If you get in an auto before 9 and reach your destination after 9 pm they will demand double fare ( not 1.5 lawfully if boarded after 9 pm). They behave worst with non Kannada speaking ppl. Goverment should stop Auto DRIVERS to c Phone all the time .They don't leave space to other public people on road .Government should take serious action On Auto drivers seeing Mobile all the time .Distributing public .
Driver should have not lost his temperament and misbehaved...Ola is the biggest culprit for not charging cancellation fee to the customer and compensating the fuel cost for the driver!!..Legal lawsuit must be pursued against Ola for causing conflicts between stakeholders!!
It is the fault of the operator, not with the auto drivers or the customer. There should be a proper means to solve this issue. Not all auto drivers are bad and not all customers are good.
App prices includes of empty ride (pickup) fare too. But don’t know why everybody is claiming it as loss. If riders cancel when drivers arrived at pickup location, cancellation fee is applicable for the rider who booked. ( I had this experience). But exactly don’t know what happened

As a Tamil tourist, I haven't faced any problems in Bengaluru. The BJP/Congress can be dangerous to Tamils whenever there is water scarcity but other than that, it is fine for a historic rival nation. North Indians need to adapt more to a foreign place like Bengaluru. The cost of living and culture there are very different.

I have only face this problem in south India. I live in north India and have never faced this situation but once i was in puducherry and same-thing happened with me after i canceled a cab but the driver still came to the location just to start a fight and used abusive language.
I know why she booked multiple autos and didn't cancel until the very end. It's because auto drivers cancel at the very end sometimes. Nobody will accep the ride and when someone accepts the ride there is still no guarantee that we will get the ride. I have been stranded in places several times because of this. When there is 1 minute remaining for the auto to approach they will cancel sometimes.
The Customer can cancel the ride anytime, Auto drivers cancel the trip when the passengers wait for 10 to 15 mins then what should customer do...its vice versa, Paitence is important here, be polite to customers that is your job.
The auto driver should be punished. Most of the time even though the distance 20 to 25 minutes the drivers will accept the rides and after 15 min they will cancel it... You not asked correct questions with them, Questions should ask for finding solutions: 1. Is Ola gives all drivers also cancel option?, and You and how many of use this option often? DOoyou ask users destinations and then decide to accept or cancel? 2. Is you are charged by Ola if you cancel users ride? if yes then company policy same for both user and driver and if not then driver have upper hand and Users waiting time dosen't matters to them, only fuel/gas cost matters to them. 3. The driver got frustrated by seeing the number of customers cancel rides after reaching the pickup location. The company will think the driver asked to cancel the ride. The company won't pay any cancellation charges for that. Some Customers won't cancel rides by booking the number of taxis in the number of online apps, to avoid customer cancellation charges until they cancel the ride rider will not get any new ride. The same happened with me 3 months back when I was in Bangalore. These Kannadigas people are very bad they hate Hindi people.
I'm from Northeast India, while I was staying in Bangalore I've face so many hate crimes and discrimination.....even the police department are racists towards NE and north Indian people... during covid I booked a train to come home and in the bengaluru cantonment RS some guys in uniform were roaming around upon seeing me they charged me 250rs for not wearing masks properly while I was wearing my mask , what happened was I was talking with my parents on my phone, because of the crowd noise ,I went to the corner and I pulled down my mask just a bit ,they immediately called me and started charging me fines (tbh their eyes were on me from the beginning)... I paid the fine....the irony was, I have my mask and I was still wearing it, I just pulled it down for a sec to have a convo.. while all the people around me including all the other passengers ,cab drivers were roaming around with no Mask!!!!!!! I asked politely to the officer why was I the only one being charged while others didn't even had one with them,,, he replied that they have already paid their fine (which I know no one has but was very idiotic to answer like that 😅) so they can stay without mask!!!..... what's the point of wearing it then??? if just by paying money to the officers we can be saved then y bother wearing one I asked... THEY SHUT ME DOWN.....wish I've recorded the moment I could have file FIR for hate crime and discrimination
p.s :-everytime I think about the incident, it traumatized me, it pains my heart a lot... being an Indian citizen myself I had to face such hate crime and discrimination from the police department itself in a broad daylight in public... if it was just a common people being racists towards me then I usually just eat it silently but even the police department are being racists and committing hate crime then whom shall we trust??? whom shall we go to when people like me needs help?? I feel so scared and unsafe everyday knowing that I couldn't even trust the PD....
Most of the police are being recruited from other towns and districts of karnataka they have never seen anybody from north eastern region that's the problem

I have lived in bangalore for 7 years and had a tough time with bangalore auto drivers... They have demanded more money, acted rude, not used meter, cancelled rides... Not a good experience at all... I have seen auto driver's fighting and abusing some students near majestic bus stand and i was shocked and scared by their behaviour.... I had decided long back to avoid bangalore autos long back to save my peace of mind.... Also I can speak kannada very well and im from Karnataka... But still, I have had a horrible experience many a times with Bangalore auto driver's

If the auto drivers have a problem with cancellation, it is on the ride hailing app to find a resolution. It's not the fault of the end-customer. The ride hailing app's are responsible to resolve the issues raised by the auto drivers.

Auto drivers also cancel. We book and wait for 5-10 min and suddenly we see the auto has cancelled so we have to book again and the rates may also have increased in those few min. Heard the auto driver who slapped the lady is behind bars and has to pay Rs 30 K for bail and his license may also get revoked. Even auto driver use 2 or 3 apps together, they will accept, butvthen if any other ride comes, with better offer, they will cancel the previous ride and accept the new one, even we wait, we r not sure even the driver will come or not, till they arrive.
But if Uber driver cancel who should be blamed? It's just not customer who cancel. If fuel lost while reaching at spot also customer spending time is equally important.

Most if them are saying Customers book from two different Apps at the same time and cancel one.
Why customers do that because usually Auto/Cab Drivers cancel the ride when they call to confirm the pick-up location they usually ask about Drop location.
With this Customers are left with no other option to book another one as a back-up.

2. Companies pay drivers if signicant time was lost waiting and even if they don't, drivers must be aware of this policy and still onboarded to this platforms. If this cancellations bothers you so much, just don't onboard to this platforms and pick up riders from roads. No one is forcing you😒
While booking auto ...if I can recollect more than 10 times in last 2 years autos have cancelled my rides due to below reasons.
1. No wallet payment only cash.
2. Pick up distance is more. They don't even tell also that they will not come.
3. Night time after asking the amount showing in app.
4. After hearing the drop location.
I never abused or spoke rudely to anyone than how that guy has rights and guts to talk shit and torture someone.
I never book two rides at the same time, even when I'm in a rush, because I can understand the struggles of those drivers who work hard to earn a living, even if it's just 10 rupees.
First read the full case . Her friend booked the ride without telling her. Both of them by mistake booked it. One had to cancel . Ride was just 1 min away. No gas was wasted . Slapping someone for 1000 rs is also wrong. He could have simply vented

The Auto Driver is at great fault! He has not only abused the Woman in filthy language but slapped her n it shows his culture. Customers also should not book two Autos at a time n cause liss to one Auto Driver.
I once met a auto guy he said due to some local crackheads the whole city name is spoiling. He said I was born in Bengaluru and we are very happy people welcoming everyone to our culture and city.
the issue is on both sides. Two autos were booked by the rider and she had cancelled this driver’s ride only after he arrived at the pickup location. He had to travel 2-3 kms to reach the destination, only to get a cancellation. The mistake on driver’s side is to manhandle her when she shot the video. People should think and act as one mistake is all it takes to turn the entire situation against them.
Both of them should’ve talked out of the situation. If the driver had not involved in physical assault or manhandling, then his side is entirely correct. The so called victim (rider) is also equally guilty but she escaped playing the victim card here. I as a customer have also suffered from such cancellation issues from auto drivers but it doesn’t make it fair if I do that to them. What sense it makes? I’m not even taking revenge on the driver who cancelled my rides in the past, I’m just showing my anger on another driver which he doesn’t deserve.
Now, to people who call Bengaluru or South states as unsafe/uncivilised: People from my state (Tamil Nadu) and all over India flood Bengaluru for their livelihood. Things as such happen across the country, it’s not specific to Karnataka.

I think the root cause is, the middleman here.. companies like ola, Uber.. Auto drivers cancelled many times after asking the fare. Do customers harass them like this? Sometimes auto drivers accept the ride and doesn’t move for few mins when it will be an emergency situation. They will ask extra costs or else they will cancel. Cancellation fee is applied when customer cancels. But I don’t if its applied to auto drivers too.

Every time i cancelled any of ola or uber due to 10-15 mins waiting... Im still charged for the cancellation. Whenever i book ola or uber of any vehicles i often called up the driver immediately n asking how minutes he will take. They often said 3-5 mins but never happened. Cancellation is not free at all... There is often a charged like Rs. 25 or Rs.50 some time.
In the end, it's always the common people on both sides who suffer. No one ever questions companies like Ola or Uber about paying their drivers fairly, while the corporate giants continue to profit

@@flaway-678my point is all these issues will be solved if the ride companies step in, they are not worried about both the sides. No one should suffer neither the customer nor the driver. There should be limited cancellations allowed for the drivers as emergency and deduct some money for them if they do so and also same needs to be done on passenger side too, some cancellation fees if we do so.

I faced a bitter experience is Bangalore. After paying as per Ola App fare after reaching destination i could not book next trip. I was continuosly getting message informing that my ride fee not paid. So also it was not accepting my subsequent bookings. I took with their grievance cell but nothing happened. I was forced pay 2 fares for single ride. Government should take strong action in these things.
I am sharing an incident happened with me. I booked in Ola on April 2024 from Marathahalli to krpuram to take the metro to SBC. Ola accepted, shown 500mtrs away for around 15mins then cancelled from his end. Now what actions need to be taken if auto drivers cancelling the bookings.

Auto drivers also cancel ride every other day on their own after accepting it. This happens everyday they accept ride call up and check where is the drop then delay pickup and cancel ride after long time. It goes both ways.

Earlier when we used cash they never gave you back the change. If we asked they used to abuse us. If you get in an auto before 9 and reach your destination after 9 pm they will demand double fare ( not 1.5 lawfully if boarded after 9 pm). They behave worst with non Kannada speaking ppl. Now in the era of Ola Uber when customers learnt how to tackle them due to them calling the customers and cancelling the rides, they are calling us foul.

It is the fault of the operator, not with the auto drivers or the customer. There should be a proper means to solve this issue. Not all auto drivers are bad and not all customers are good.
App prices includes of empty ride (pickup) fare too. But don’t know why everybody is claiming it as loss. If riders cancel when drivers arrived at pickup location, cancellation fee is applicable for the rider who booked. ( I had this experience). But exactly don’t know what happened

@@travellermani3337 Bad experiences can happen anywhere, not just in Bengaluru. The migrants are generally rude to the locals which is why there are a few incidents. As a Tamil tourist, I haven't faced any problems in Bengaluru. The BJP/Congress can be dangerous to Tamils whenever there is water scarcity but other than that, it is fine for a historic rival nation. North Indians need to adapt more to a foreign place like Bengaluru. The cost of living and culture there are very different.

I have only face this problem in south India. I live in north India and have never faced this situation but once i was in puducherry and same-thing happened with me after i canceled a cab but the driver still came to the location just to start a fight and used abusive language.

I know why she booked multiple autos and didn't cancel until the very end. It's because auto drivers cancel at the very end sometimes. Nobody will accep the ride and when someone accepts the ride there is still no guarantee that we will get the ride. I have been stranded in places several times because of this. When there is 1 minute remaining for the auto to approach they will cancel sometimes.

The Customer can cancel the ride anytime, Auto drivers cancel the trip when the passengers wait for 10 to 15 mins then what should customer do...its vice versa, Paitence is important here, be polite to customers that is your job.
There should be some criteria like if sometime got over and driver is nearing, the cancellation from both sides should be blocked.

The auto driver should be punished. Most of the time even though the distance 20 to 25 minutes the drivers will accept the rides and after 15 min they will cancel it... For every cancel slapping is the resolution, then how many slaps these drivers would have got from customers. He doesn't have any right to slap a woman just for one ride cancellation. If he is living in such a big city and working as a driver, these things are very common. Ola, uber should not hire such kind of immature, uneducated drivers. Its the question of women safty... Is the driver is arrested???

Firstly, the auto driver speaking in such a rude manner is totally unacceptable. Secondly, after listening to the auto drivers' woes, they seem to be genuine. Riders should take care to not book in two Apps simultaneously. The explanation given by auto drivers that customers are booking in two apps and cancelling is a just an excuse and a horrible lie. The customers are charged cancellation charges if they cancel their ride. This argument by auto drivers cannot be accepted. The auto driver better behave himself or the public will kick-ass.

You not asked correct questions with them, Questions should ask for finding solutions:
1. Is Ola gives all drivers also cancel option?, and You and how many of use this option often? DOoyou ask users destinations and then decide to accept or cancel?
2. Is you are charged by Ola if you cancel users ride? if yes then company policy same for both user and driver and if not then driver have upper hand and Users waiting time dosen't matters to them, only fuel/gas cost matters to them.
3. Leaving aside this situation? what if user have urgent change in plan? what else drivers expect them to do other then paying Ola cancelation charge?
4. Is you get user cancelation charges share from Ola and Uber, if not How many of users know about this Ola - driver contract not sharing charges with driver? and show ethics to you all.
5. you as a auto community what all steps you all took to address this issue with Ola uber company?
as a jounalist you have to ask question from others perspective too, not just listen there problems and justify the situation.
The driver got frustrated by seeing the number of customers cancel rides after reaching the pickup location. The company will think the driver asked to cancel the ride. The company won't pay any cancellation charges for that. Some Customers won't cancel rides by booking the number of taxis in the number of online apps, to avoid customer cancellation charges until they cancel the ride rider will not get any new ride. This is the reason the rider became rude with the customer.

First customers need to stop abusing riders and by booking a number of taxis and stop booking normal rides for delivery.
