If You are Living in Karnataka Then You Should Learn the Local Language for Communicate You Have No Right To Impose Your Mother Tongue Language on their State. As a Bengali from North East If I want to Do Job or Business at Hindi Belt Without Knowing Hindi Language Is it Possible?
The point is if you "live" in Karnataka. Go watch the video again. Other than that, it's not mandatory to learn the local language, but it's highly advised to learn the language and culture for better communication and getting a better understanding of people around you. But on an international airport, where people from different ethnicities and nationalities come and go, if their staff isn't adept in the international language English or is trying to make things harder by refusing to communicate in international language, then it's a problem
@supersaiyans7845 then that's his choice, other than the communication barrier that person may have. No problem. I'll talk about my state, Punjab. There are so many immigrants from UP and Bihar and other states, they don't speak punjabi we don't have any problem with it.

I am from Bangalore, and my mother tongue is Kannada. I think the issue we face in Bangalore regarding these kinds of language crises is almost always through the extreme sides of both the Kannada people and the North Indians (Hindi speaking) who migrate to Bangalore, sure whatever the airport official did to him is simply not acceptable and frankly, the authority should take some serious action on the official for mistreating a person based off of such circumstances. But while I'm at it, I think most people (who haven't been to Bangalore) need to realize that there are certain groups of people who almost "force" Kannada people to speak Hindi, heck, it's happened to me multiple times too. I've had instances where I've been forced to speak Hindi in my own city like I don't belong there, and if I've encountered such situations, I'm confident a lot more Kannada people have gone through the same too, and probably that's the reason why some Kannada people tend to get aggressive on this matter as I've seen on social media. At the end of the day, I think the language in itself is not such an important barrier as these extremists claim it to be, but at the same time when there's an issue like this, I believe it's important to address both sides of the problem rather than victimizing one and defending the other. Please don't get me wrong about this, I am all for Salman Yusuf's side in this particular situation but what I'm stating is, there are plenty more situations like this where Kannada people have been the victim of language shaming by North Indians, in their own city - Bangalore.

the first issue of the immigration officer suspecting: Dude this is not an issue of regionalism, it's an issue of verification of residence. any person born in a particular place, and his/her parents being born there and not knowing the local language would obviously raise suspicions. the second issue of the auto driver: is a cropped video showing partial truth, where the girls first demanded him to speak/learn Hindi imposing it as the national language. how can you expect an auto driver brought up in his local language to speak Hindi? can you go to a Bengal or tn or Gujarat or Manipur and ask a rickshaw puller to know a completely different vernacular language? at least appreciate him for knowing a bit of English to communicate to earn his living.
How would not knowing Kannada in Bangalore raise suspicion? Bangalore is a pretty diverse and metropolitan city, and way too many Bangalorean residents speak little to no Kannada. Surprisingly the security official living in the city didn't know this fact about Bangalore? And when the person said that he was raised in Saudi Arabia and not Bangalore, then what's the fuss?
lol there's no such rule, authority, or guideline given to immigration to do such things. There are lakhs who r born at a place but may not know the regional language especially in metro cities coz metro cities aren't just about regional ppl. Moreover airports are neutral grounds having ppl from all around. Do u know how many ppl born in defence societies have different place of birth than the state they are actually from? Ever heard anyone face such things around the world? Simply there's no ground for suspicion here. The officer don't know shit about background of a person and he cannot make assumptions to force things. Why is this problem only happening with bangalore? Why not mumbai? Calcutta? Delhi?
The immigration officer didn’t ask him questions out of love for Kannada, it was a normal security protocol as there are lot of illegal immigrants in Bangalore/ India with fake documents. The officer didn’t know about Mr.Khan, being a millennial even I didn’t know about him until this happened. Mr. Khan could’ve easily handled it but he created ruckus on social media. By calling the officer uneducated, Mr. Khan made us feel that he himself is not educated properly. Modi thing was unnecessary too.
Its beyond the officer's authority. One who managed to fake documents and passport approval system and office, getting questioned based on language to cut the suspicion? 😂 This is having next to zero probability. And even after the suspicion why was this salman allowed to make the travel? Or suddenly did Salman fire some lines in kannada to get the officer accept it? Same question the officer could have done in English, the same language which was compulsory for him to get recruited. Plus immigration is doing nation level work not regional.
Language is just a medium to connect each other he contributes for the city for the city he never told about language question is who the airport authority works for hindi, spanish, english whatever' language might a passenger speak the authorities get paid for the job to help them not to mock or give trouble

I am a Kannadiga and I speak Kannada. After landing in India from Germany, I went to the immigration control check counter like all other arriving passengers and the officer asked some questions to me in Kannada. I answered to him in Kannada. He took 10-15 minutes to check details of each arriving passenger in the system before me. He checked my details atleast 15 times and took 15 minutes. The other officers in parallel queues were taking 2-3 minutes on an average before letting the passengers go further to collect their baggage. Some officers there are more suspicious (or incompetent) than others and need more time. Some are arrogant and some are polite. And ofcourse every person is equal before the officer, celebrity or a common man! Cheers..
That was ur choice and the officer's choice and convenience not the rule. There's no such rule or guideline or training which allows officers to do the same. Ask the immigration officer whether he was recruited based on kannada or was it English? Plus immigration itself is a national thing based on country to country basis. Nobody can force or assume about regional languages over there.
@@ultimexg1419 read my comment i never blamed the officer. I only said that how a passenger/immigrant is going to be treated depends on the officer's ability (competence) to go thorough and pay attention to detail. Some take less time and some more. It's obvious that he spoke to me in Kannada because I was born in Karnataka.

@Rajnasya wrong. Hindi is a bastardized version of Persian and Turkish imposed on a parakrit script. @Rajnasya whatever you call descent is what I call bastardization because of Islamic conquests. Hindi's grammar is different from that of Sanskrit and pronunciation goes way different. Compare that with say Telugu, the script is way older than that of Hindi, but the grammar and pronunciation are way closer to Sanskrit. A simple word like Rama is pronounced as Ram in Hindi and as Rama in Sanskrit and Telugu. Standardized formal southern languages have way more vocabulary from Sanskrit.

But forcing EVERY SINGLE PERSON to learn kannada to be welcomed there without knowing where they are from and how long they are staying is unjust right? I've faced this exact treatment in bangalore when I was there for my 3 weeks stay multiple times. First please understand the languages of India. If you see in North you have similarities in most of the language. However, as of now most of the languages have been vanished due to implementation of Hindi in northern states. Hope you know the top 5 oldest Indian languages. 1 sanskrith (7000 years) 2 Tamil (5000 years) 3 kannada (2000 years) 4 Telugu ( 1500 years) 5 malyalam (2000 years) Similarly you have odisha, odia, bengali etc.. However, Hindi is new compared to these languages. They made Hindi as a language due to some political gains. We have learnt Hindi even though we are not in North states, You can talk any local auto driver in Bangalore they can easily talk in 5 languages. However, people from north start imposing Hindi here which we won't agree you can't come here and impose your language and tell us also to talk only in Hindi. We respect your language if you can't respect ours you can leave. We don't have any reason to let you stay in our land when you don't respect our language and culture.. In India most of the traditional culture is still surviving in south. North I don't see much.. if you can't respect our tradition culture, language you can't be called Indian.

Jai Shree Ram. At least there are a few sensible people in this comment section.

The officer was stupid to cause inconvenience to the passenger. Immigration has nothing to do with regional drama and languages. That officer himself doesn't get recruited based on regional language but English, and then comes hindi and regional language only for helping the passengers, not messing with them

He could have simply diffused the situation by saying he never had the opportunity to learn Kannada though he was born in Bengaluru as he was raised in Saudi where his family mostly spoke their language instead his response was why should I learn your language which indicates his ignorance and ego.
What i assume he was trying to do was make a big issue out of it. He knows how to play with sentiments of Bengaluru's locals and non- locals which he is exploiting to his benefit.
But why should he learn a language because someone asked him? Learning a new language is a tiresome process.

India has a total of 780 languages in the country, while visiting different districts in different states, do you learn the language? do locals tell you to get out of there if you dont know that certain dialect? No right?
I agree with you, if you live in karnataka and earn your livelihood there, you should learn the language. But forcing EVERY SINGLE PERSON to learn kannada to be welcomed there without knowing where they are from and how long they are staying is unjust right? I've faced this exact treatment in bangalore when I was there for my 3 weeks stay multiple times. People in bangalore just see a north indian person and lash out on them and make the language shit seem like an extreme political matter which somehow gives them the right to be abusive and aggressive?
not to mention hindi is the national language of india, if you cannot respect your country you shouldnt be living it it.
And who pays for food residency u do sir ? People pay Karnataka doesn't have them anything for free. U want international companies in ur banglore and still want every migrated people to adapt to their culture.
First please understand the languages of India. If you see in North you have similarities in most of the language. However, as of now most of the languages have been vanished due to implementation of Hindi in northern states.
Hope you know the top 5 oldest Indian languages.
1 sanskrith (7000 years)
2 Tamil (5000 years)
3 kannada (2000 years)
4 Telugu ( 1500 years)
5 malyalam (2000 years)
Similarly you have odisha, odia, bengali etc..
You can also have the mnc, int airport in your state and start building your life.
