That's how I got my last kitten, she was a god send for me.
Replace ‘thrown out of a car’ with enslaved, tortured, murde**d, and then eaten, and 98% of the population has no issue with it.

@@FactStorm She had no fur due to having mange so bad the vet said just put her down. I called about ten vets until I found one that even treated mange. I had to take her to be dipped in a sulpher solution three times. Finally all the mange mites were gone. It cost $500. She was completely wild. I had to hold her down by the scruff of her neck every morning and brush her and that went on for two months until she realized she liked it and enjoyed being touched. Before that she wouldn't let me or mom touch her at all, she was feral. She turned out to be a beautiful calico manx and was mom's constant companion, mom was in her 90s. She was a god send for mom who was confined by arthritis so severe she couldn't move out of her room. No one else would have ever taken her in. Mange is so contagious mom and I had it for two months from her, and it's torture. Mom loved her a lot and Sheba was always with mom in her room, usually sitting on her lap. So it was a win-win for all of us.
Everybody is cat person, they just don’t know it until they get one.
My sister did not care about cats at all like I did but when I adopted one for our family, it’s like she became more obsessed than me lol she is wearing cat shirts and got me a cat bag. Now she adopted one of her own and treats him like a son. She looks back and was dumbfounded to how she used to be. Same thing happened to her coworker who adopted a cat but didn’t really like them before (but wanted a pet that was less work than a dog) and now both her and her husband is obsessed and plan to adopt another one.

I am still hung up on someone throwing that kitten out of a car. Would love to see serious consequences for people who do things like that, but that is just a footnote to a happy ending.

I was telling my mom about this story. I love people who love animals and are open to bonding with different types. All animals have feelings and personalities. Heck I even rescue gold millipedes when they get stuck in the hot sun too long and even they have different personalities. Just gotta love these little stories.

I have learned that a person who likes cats is usually a good sign they are someone worth knowing as a friend, or more. And if they do not like cats it's more of a risk.
