@@DCMotorWerksSo are all M157 engines ticking timebombs? Read about the coolant seal behind front cover, tensioners, and cylinder scoring issues. But i also read on later years they switched from spray on cylinder coating to normal iron sleeves?
Is it possible to get you guys to give us the cost of some of the work your doing as to give and idea 💡 of what one can possibly expect? Also it’s just cool to know. Thanks
I have a 2006 Mercedes S500 with a AMG Package, however it has a AMG badge due to some North American dealerships believing the “package” which was more or less that of a 2002 S55 with privacy curtains and some other neat features essentially meant that it was “enough” to be considered an AMG just without the engine, up until they mysteriously stopped perhaps due to the backlash of purists or perhaps Mercedes Germany itself? But outside of decade old Mercedes forums talking about fake AMGs badged at less ethical dealers I fear I know very little else. Just a fun mystery I suppose?
I have seen this as well. AMG problems can easily exceed the cost of even Ferrari repairs. Usually can be traced to poor maintenance.
5k deep in a m157 15 e63s I did bust out the boroscope like u said in last video and thank god no vertical scoring has over 120k miles as well
Great to hear! Keep it going
If i remember correctly thats not suppose to be a problem at 14
@@noahjeffcoat9187 they did improve the coating later on but it is still susceptible unfortunately. We’ve replaced 3 2014’s this year
@@DCMotorWerks I have heard a lot about it. That's terrible I have a 16 im about to replaced the plugs and stick a boroscope down well see
