5 Licks That Could INSTANTLY IMPROVE Your Guitar Playing

- These worked for me, but it doesn't mean that they will work for everybody. But I am confident that at least one will help you out. In this video I have focused on on licks from Zakk Wylde, Paul Gilbert, Randy Rhoads with one or two of my own ideas thrown in for fun.

I’m a guitarist from the UK, completely self-taught and have been playing since I was 12. I play Hard Rock including AC/DC, Van Halen, Ozzy Osbourne and more modern influences including Alter Bridge and Steel Panther.
I graduated with a First Class (BA Hons) Music Business Degree from the University of Sussex, studied it at BIMM Manchester.
At uni, I helped arrange a masterclass for Ozzy Osbourne/Firewind guitarist Gus G and played an important part in the preparations for a Guthrie Govan clinic. Personal highlights of mine include playing on stage with Steel Panther in January 2018 and when I got the opportunity to spend the day with Steve Vai on his Passion and Warfare Anniversary Tour.
Since launching the channel properly in 2015, I am very pleased to have received positive comments from Sam Coulson (Asia), Michael Starr (Steel Panther), Rick Graham, Henning Basse (Firewind Lead Vocalist) and other notable figures in the guitar world.
I teach subscribers complex rock licks, provide other tuition videos and demonstrate exciting kit and equipment for shops such as RichTone Music in Sheffield, Sounds Great Music in Cheadle.
I’m a connoisseur of fine guitars and I am very proud to be known on UA-cam for being a proud user of Charvel Guitars, Yamaha THR amps, EVH Gear and Stormshadow Guitarworks.

Awesome video Cam! I used to play that Paul Gilbert string skipping lick years ago (possibly 15 years ago). I'd completely forgotten how to play it. Great to re-learn it again :-)

Hey Camero, It would be really cool to see a video about your experience with different pickup brands, seymour Duncan, DiMarzio, pariah, etc
It quite simple really. I was a happy user of Seymour Duncans for a long time and then Pariah pickups showed and blew mind and now I couldn't be happier
The Solos from Li'l Bloodred Riding Hood improved my alternate picking tremendously.
P.s your pickup height needs reducing as it's warbling a lot mate.

I'd say Dimarzios are a little smoother sounding but the Seymour Duncans have the most unbelievable punch and power! It's something you have to experience.

I would do this but it is nearly impossible for me to build any speed at all, I just get frustrated because i have been in the same place for a long time

Cameron, is your b string closer to your g string than it is to your e string? More noticeable at the higher frets. A bridge thing? Not that it's affecting your playing!

What strings do you use?
he uses 9 to 42 elixir otptiweb on all guitars except his white so cal with EMG's where he has 10-46 due to him de-tuning it to D standard.

I don't use or provide tab. For licks like these, tab is pointless anyway. You can see where my fingers and slow down the video if you need to.
how do you get rid of exess noise whilst sweep picking?
Just make sure your fretting hand and picking hand are completely synchronised.

Charvel used to have such nice gloss finishes. Now they are releasing a Mexican guitar with primer on it. Such horrible finishes currently.
Can't really say that when there's only one primer grey guitar in Charvels entire product range. With exception of about 5 or 6 matte finishes scattered about the ranges, the vast majority of the guitars they make are gloss. :)

Nah man. Variety is the spice of life. I've got a couple with Duncans in anyway. Even then I prefer Pariah pickups
