There are a lot of ridiculous garbage from the law here in Canada. Victims here have less rights and protections from the law than the criminals. I got blasted for saying that before saying it’s to protect the falsely accused, which I get. But when there beyond Doubts of a crime, the loophole through that protections is really being taken advantage of to the point of the ridiculous. So at the end the victim is a victim from the criminal act and also a victim of legal loopholes through a law system driven by greed and total lack of ethics.
How the ef was it not criminal? Someone who's not the home owner rents your place? I'd like to see what the cop who said that wasn't criminal would say if I rented his place out.
@@hearthrob300 Ok fair enough but all that tells me is whatever service used was negligent and should compensate the current owner. ANY rental should be preceded by a confirmation of sorts to ensure the person who originally made the pool available is still the owner. Even a simple email would have done that. No confirmation, no transaction and if the previous owner does confirm, they're liable. As is, the service is liable and the current owner should be compensated.
The officer has an obligation to act under The Community Safety and Policing Act to pursue any crime you report. Sadly, unless you hire an attorney and sue the department, nothing will happen. Police need to be held accountable - what if you wanted to charge them with criminal trespass? What if you wanted to pursue fraud charges against the perpetrators? There is no excuse the officer can come up with for not at least filing a report about what happened. Sad that there is such a lack of accountability.
Same thing happened to me, by the sheer luck of christ, I happened to leave early last Thursday, came home and found a group that had booked on pooplies, I never said they could use my bathroom
poo-please! LOL Maybe someone should start this app! How often have you been in a random neighbourhood with no fast food in sight and had a family member who needed to use the bathroom "RIGHT NOW!" I could've used this for the kid who was too terrified to use the outhouse while enjoying the outdoors... Turn on the app and find a friendly local toilet near you!
I never even knew this app existed. Too bad they don't have a lower rate for a party of one! I know so many neighbours with pools and I'd love to go for a 3am dip while nobody is around!
Haha It is air BnB for pool owners. It does make sense if you cannot financially have a pool or your property is too small. They have another app to rent out your backyard and toddler toys.
My mom always tells our neighbors and family members they can use our pool anytime they just gotta give a heads up, but letting complete strangers swim in your pool is kind of icky.
The APP’s system how is it robust? Does it verify ownership or right to possion of property? My guess is that previous tenant might have rented it few months ago and forgotten and later vacated the house. It could all be an error.
Life must be hard when your stupid. Let me guess you're over 60 with 3 years of formal education, but think you have this thing called 'common sense', right?

Based off the photos and the report it was the previous tenant that put the pool on the App. Report wasn't clear on how long the posting was up, did the tenant put the posting up after they had moved, or prior to them moving? There's a big difference between an individual having a pool for rent on an App then moving away and forgetting to take it off and a person refreshing the posting after they had moved away.
Also, no one is bringing up if it's a rental they likely don't have legal permission to do that. Wouldn't the landlord be held legally responsible as well? How was it even able for the previous tenant to verify?
So renting out another persons property is not a crime on Canada?
I hear the parliament buildings are great for parties you guys!!!

lmk.. time and date. Not just on Canada Day. LOL

What time and date
How is this not trespassing?
The system is anything but “robust”. She should sue. Just because there was no crime the police could imagine, an attorney will know what to do!
This app is totally ridiculous...like who on earth wants a bunch of strangers on their property..the liability alone would be terrifying..
Exactly, how is this even a legal business model in Canada?
Terms of service can have you signing away all your liability with a single checkmark.

It was an old ad that was posted by the previous homeowner.

She’s absolutely right if anything happened she would be blamed and charged
Why in the hell would you rent out your pool for drinking parties?
not even using it, why not, get 75$-100$ for four hours
To make some money.
25 an hour is beyond reasonable. Funny it wasnt packed.

Another street corner lawyer displays his ignorance.

Yes it is a completely criminal act, but not for Canadian police.
"Umm, excuse me… who are you and wtf are you doing in my pool"
No crime?!? Trespass!
Gotta Luv Canada.
It's perfectly legal not to.
😅😅😅😅 idk this just made me laugh 😂 rent a pool what the heck 😅😅
Well at least they weren't digging holes in the yard to fill with💩
WHAT MAKES NO SENSE ARE NEIGHBORS KNOWING SHE WAS NOT THERE BUT NEVER CHALLENGED THOSE IN HER POOL???!!!
Maybe they weren't home or don't have a direct line of site to the pool for the duration of the visitation.
I'm curious how you know what your neighbours are doing all the time? Do you also know exactly who their friends are, too? You sound rather scary.
How does the neighbour know? It's a private property.

Haha

It's swiimming, simply portmanteaued.
If you’re worried about this happening to you. Send the app your address to have it banned from being posted

Never. We had a pool for years. If you ok someone using your pool, if something goes wrong, count on being sued.
I've got 24 dollars, let's go....

where do they go to the bathroom?????
Who rents backyard pools😂😂
If you leave your pool unsecured, could someone could come in, drown or hurt themselves and the owner could be sued?
Last time I checked fraud was in fact a crime.
1:52 Wow! Lazy police! Charge the fraudster that rented someone else's pool! Ridiculous!
I will defend my property by whatever means necessary. GtFO!
She knows who did it?!
Maybe her insurance company will cancel her policy as if going away and leave your pool to easy access, lucky no one was hurt or drowned
Scammers inn Canada? Oh wait, the border s open. Thanks FJT
What will you say if the scammers are “purely locals “?
