It literally takes two seconds to reinstate their reservation. there's no reason for her to have to pay. plus points or a free room for the inconvenience is almost mandatory. this could've been solved soooo simply..

The woman is talking about that day. I'm assuming she feels like the employee won THAT day because no one else stood up to tell her how inappropriate she was being and for allowing that kind of behavior to continue.
I have to say that I have a property and there were some individuals squatting next door. One was white and one was black. They were stealing and selling items and the selling drugs. They were using my parking lot to conduct their “business”. I had told them I didn’t want their “customers” on my property. Once I was there and the black man was once again doing business with someone who was on my property. I told him, “Tell your people I don’t want them on my parking lot.” Later I realized he probably thought I meant black people and that I was racist. It had absolutely nothing to do with race. “your people” meant “your customers”. I would have used the same words had I been talking to the white man. Maybe a better choice of words would have been “the criminals you do business with.” But it had NOTHING to do with race. There were all races of people who were involved. Now I am probably going to get hated on for my comment. But the people who know me know I am not racist.

This exact thing happened to my neighbor(who is Haitian/American) who was racially harrased by the manager of a hotel who ordered him to leave the motel and forced out by security even though he had a room there for 3 days and still had another full day left. He got himself a lawyer and sued the hotel chain for racial profiling and emotional distress for $790,880.00 and he won his case. I hope the best for these woman and a speedy recovery from the emotional distress this hotel staff must have imposed on them.
I’ve worked front desk for hotels for a really long time and if one of the people under me spoke to someone like that I would be absolutely appalled. That’s not how you conduct yourself as someone who works in customer service.

The USA used to be known for customer satisfaction , how it's standard practice in most premises to disregard the customer and make them feel helpless . Even my child, who is multi-racial was discriminated right in front of me, by a white women who thought my 7 year old son was standing too close to her. As a front desk agent at a hotel, there’s NO excuse to act that way. Even if the guest is acting disrespectful towards you (obviously not the case for this but In others) you just gotta apologize and try to do better to make their(and future guests) experiences better and keep the hotel scores high to have more people come in. In this case they got another room, but that new room still wasn't satisfactory. Should she have known how to handle it better based on past experience? I don't know. There are many times in the recent past when the term racism is applied improperly. But not here, this manager was full on racist, and extremely rude and condescending. I'm glad she was terminated. I hope by now (a few year's later, this just showed up in my UA-cam) that Hilton has taken some action to make amends with these guests.

The woman didn’t have a reservation in the computer and they gave her the best room they could. While she did act out of customer service policies, the two black women also should have been grateful for the room they got and not threaten her with the fact that she works for corporate.

I also work in the hotel industry and man this Manager has Zero Costumer Service Skills, judging from her tone and her body language she did not want these two guest there at all.
Of course the "service" was awful, but am I the only one out there who notices that the confirmation screenshot says her reservation was for July 21st, and in the clip it says it was for the 27th? Guest made the reservation for the wrong date, and it was cancelled when she didn't show up on the 21st. This absolutely does not justify the service, but the guest made a mistake here they are not fessing up to and the news channel is glossing over unless the reporter accidentally said "27th".

The woman is talking about that day. I'm assuming she feels like the employee won THAT day because no one else stood up to tell her how inappropriate she was being and for allowing that kind of behavior to continue.

I have to say that I have a property and there were some individuals squatting next door. One was white and one was black. They were stealing and selling items and the selling drugs. They were using my parking lot to conduct their “business”. I had told them I didn’t want their “customers” on my property. Once I was there and the black man was once again doing business with someone who was on my property. I told him, “Tell your people I don’t want them on my parking lot.” Later I realized he probably thought I meant black people and that I was racist. It had absolutely nothing to do with race. “your people” meant “your customers”. I would have used the same words had I been talking to the white man. Maybe a better choice of words would have been “the criminals you do business with.” But it had NOTHING to do with race. There were all races of people who were involved. Now I am probably going to get hated on for my comment. But the people who know me know I am not racist.

This exact thing happened to my neighbor(who is Haitian/American) who was racially harrased by the manager of a hotel who ordered him to leave the motel and forced out by security even though he had a room there for 3 days and still had another full day left. He got himself a lawyer and sued the hotel chain for racial profiling and emotional distress for $790,880.00 and he won his case. I hope the best for these woman and a speedy recovery from the emotional distress this hotel staff must have imposed on them.

The USA used to be known for customer satisfaction , how it's standard practice in most premises to disregard the customer and make them feel helpless . This is part of a social shift to give this feeling from law enforcement to travel on planes and eating in well known establishment , it's all meant to make the people feel helpless and have no backup because of the division they also push in society .
I'm a 40 yr. Old white female, and I've seen people discriminated for their race too many times. Even my child, who is multi-racial was discriminated right in front of me, by a white women who thought my 7 year old son was standing too close to her. As a front desk agent at a hotel, there’s NO excuse to act that way. Even if the guest is acting disrespectful towards you (obviously not the case for this but In others) you just gotta apologize and try to do better to make their(and future guests) experiences better and keep the hotel scores high to have more people come in. The manager didn’t have to say anything if she felt those particular customers were unruly in any way. She already called the police (which seems to be some kind of trend now). Why keep up the insults and name calling??? The ONLY person out of control was the manager SIMPLE AS THAT. You know for sure the connotation that “you people” serves. If it were done to you, you would feel the same discontentment.
Do you hear the manager at any point in the video state that they have suddenly changed their tone, actions, or behavior? I don’t, which suggests that it was how they conducted themselves from the very beginning. There is a longer video if you would like to see the entire recorded exchange (just search it).

There are many times in the recent past when the term racism is applied improperly. But not here, this manager was full on racist, and extremely rude and condescending. I'm glad she was terminated. I hope by now (a few year's later, this just showed up in my UA-cam) that Hilton has taken some action to make amends with these guests.

Actually the phrase you people isn’t racist at all and I’m pretty sure she was just referring to people that complain with their stuff for no reason. The woman didn’t have a reservation in the computer and they gave her the best room they could. While she did act out of customer service policies, the two black women also should have been grateful for the room they got and not threaten her with the fact that she works for corporate.

I also work in the hotel industry and man this Manager has Zero Costumer Service Skills, judging from her tone and her body language she did not want these two guest there at all.

I agree. She didn’t want to deal with “them” especially because she knew she was wrong and didn’t want to be wrong in the presence of “them”.
Of course the "service" was awful, but am I the only one out there who notices that the confirmation screenshot says her reservation was for July 21st, and in the clip it says it was for the 27th? Guest made the reservation for the wrong date, and it was cancelled when she didn't show up on the 21st. This absolutely does not justify the service, but the guest made a mistake here they are not fessing up to and the news channel is glossing over unless the reporter accidentally said "27th".

Even if you cannot accommodate a customers needs you do not disrespect or disregard them in any way shape or form. You do as much as you can with in your ability and you apologize for not being able to do more and from there you move forward but her behavior in antagonizing and her dismissive demeanor and her immediate need to disrespect and verbally attack these people is horrible

The white woman had 0 character. It's not fair to judge or side with the guests due to the slanted video but the clerk or MOD acted wrong. I did hotel security & guests like these women constantly had things to gripe or nitpick over. Do NOT stay in a hotel if you are not happy, check out or leave the 2nd night.
