I think you should take a page from Engage and give Roy Hold Out. I.e. survive on 1 HP if above 1 HP. It's also good because it means you want to engage bosses with him and can do so safely, giving you access to their special dialogue.
Wow I was actually just theorycrafting these recently. I’m interested in seeing how our ideas differ A good number of these were pretty similar conceptually, down to having the exact same name for Wolt’s skill. I came up with +3 attack on enemies Wolt hasn’t fought yet, since you need new foes to keep improving.
"for every 20% crit chance he gains one strenght" Rutger:this is my crit chance Every enemy in the game:DEAR GOD Rutger:there's more *skill procs because of attack* Every enemy in the game:NO-
Tbh if I was in charge, I'd give Rutger extra hit, crit and crit avoid against either bosses, or against enemies on terrain Not because it would make sense for his character or because it would be balanced, but because fuck fe6 hard mode bosses on thrones
"Yeah, I guess the Roy personal was a but OP, but Roy needs all the buffs he can get. I doubt he'll make them all OP. He's probably exaggerat- oh, nope, he made them all OP."
Roy's ability is Mega Camilla's and I love it. I'd say this will fix him for sure, it fixed Alear after all. Also, gotta love how half of the abilities are a desperate attempt of fixing FE6 hit rates!
Nice vid, I think most of these fit in gameplay-character integration If you need one for Raigh here's one Raigh: Every time Raigh improves his weapon/staff ranks he gets 1 point to magic
I wonder, will you do videos like these for the rest of the games? Seeing personal skills for Marth's army (even if they have basically nothing to base them off of) or the Awakening cast would be fun to watch!
Late but agood addition to lugh would be -2 def for every bern unit on the team, since he hates bern for burning down his orphanage and he openly admits to milady that he joined the war to "hurt" bern(not literally the aame but the idea remains)
Wolt's personal skill could be that on level ups, he gains an additional +1 to a stat which is an adjacent ally's highest stat (except HP). This leaves you with up to +38 in extra stats that you can choose to add to Wolt guaranteed, as long as you're tactical. For example, if Wolt gains enough EXP to level up and he's next to Marcus (Marcus's highest non-HP stat is Skill), he'll gain Skill. Granted there are things like, multiple adjacent allies and multiple 'highest stats', which I suppose can be left up to chance at that point, but I think a growth unit you can have some control over is something that could work really well.
I think the only small change I would make is maybe change Lilinas to something involving fire, like “Enflaming friendship” or something involving flames and making friends. Idk sociable just seems weird to me, and she’s all about fire, so it makes sense. The idea for the skill though is great though. And really all of them.👍
11:45 I mean, they aren't. If you check the enemy stats, you can see the Sacaen, Entrurian, Lician, etc... All have that instead of Bern in the stat screen. So a skill like that would actually be balance.
omg these are all great! Especially loved Roy, Merlinus, Wade, and the armor trio. I know a lot of them were just to "fix" the hit rates, but I much prefer these flavorful skills to boost reliability then just a flat increase to weapon hit, which is what a lot of balance patches try.
Eh, when you said they would be busted, I was expecting much worse. If the circumstances allow, the skills will be very powerful if used in combination with each other, but considering how many require positioning, terrain, or attack order, I think they’re almost all fine.
For Lugh, if they don't just give him straight up aptitude in a FE6 remake, I'd probably make something about how he feels about the events surrounding his life, he is a very nice and kind kid, yes, but he still is fighting for vengeance, he still wants to avenge Lucius, and for that he starts hating Bern on a personal level, as shown in Melady's support, so I'd probably make something like that, either something that relates to Lucius in some way (He was the closest to him before death, even rebuilding the orphanage into a magic school) or relating to his desire for vengeance, so, the ones I could come up are: [Orphan of a Pure Soul: When Lugh attacks and defeats an enemy on his turn, the ally with the lowest health in his attack range heals 10% health] This one is the best one I could come up relating to Lucius without creating a skill that only works if Lugh is promoted or making it Sages work like their Sacred Stones version, but it relates to Lucius role as a healer and caretaker, and if you look further into it, you could also say it relates to the other person who possibly helped Lucius with the Orphanage, Raven, combining both Raven's offense and Lucius support, the people who made Lugh into the person he is today. [Hatred Under Innocent Eyes: If Lugh enters combat with no allies of Bernian origin near him, +4 Res, If there are units of Bernian origin near him, +4 Mag] This one is particularly interesting, it works as both how Lugh feels more confident not being near people from the country he hates so much, and when he is, he gets filled with rage from all the things that happened to him because of Bern It also works due to making Lugh get closer to Bernian units, as in him maturing and understanding that the problem is not Bern as a whole, but Zephiel and the Wyvern Generals, just like what it happened in his support with Melady The Bernian units are: Melady, Zeiss, Elen, Guinevere and Galle (if they are playable) and Dorothy (if the theory that she is Dorcas and Natalie's daughter turns out to be true)
Ellen's skill should make her magic growth the 50% it's supposed to be, and not the 5% it really is (foreal everytime I use her she never levels up magic... If she were not a holy woman I would beat her senseless)
I think that Saul's skill should specify that it doesn't work on child units and instead buff them with someone fatherly or motherly. Also, although I know how much of a hustle using Wendy is when she is underlevel, if you get her to a decent level, she becomes a really good unit. Now, that doesn't mean it's worth the hustle, but with that personal skill, just deploy bors in chapter 8, and she becomes instantly busted. Besides, Mov is a non-hp stat, so you may want to exclude that as well
Hmmm, probably not really useful or noticeable enough. Now, if she had more total support grades, that'd be another story. ...Maybe: "Gain +6 maximum support ranks, but can not reach A support with more than one ally." or "Can gain C rank support with an ally even if support rank maximum has been reached." or something else similar?
Have you heard about Roy’s bizarre adventure increasing his level cap by 10? I thought that was an awesome middle ground solution for roy’s situation! (though I forgot the name of the channel whose video was recommended.)
I think for Elen maybe have a more personal skill tailored to her magic/staffs use like Dazzling Demeanor: When unit uses Heal/Mend on ally, raises Def +1 or Str +1. (May boost both Def and Str, Trigger = % Luck) It provides her enough viable uses on map and nice constant stat boost for front line units yeah ?
If you want Zealot's skill to make sense, it could just apply to Cavaliers. Besides by the time you promote them to paladins, Zealot will likely fall off real soon anyway.
Heh, Wade's is basically No Guard from Pokemon. Would love to abuse this with killer axes. (Would it affect both attacks with a brave weapon? I don't think that would be overpowered) EDIT: Yeah I think Rutger would be fine with the "Great Personality" meme skill from FE8 hacks.
"Did I make these boosts too high?" Doesn't matter, these Skills are fun, and it makes using these Units interesting. That's leagues more important than balancing the game. That said, if you're gonna make Roy a more support-oriented Unit, give him an Attack AND Accuracy-boosting Skill instead of an Attack-boosting Skill. Since Roy's Supports already do this for all of his 10 Support partners, most of which include genuinely good Units you're probably using anyway, it just takes out basically all of the lack of consistency FE6 has with accuracies.
You were right about one thing, a lot of these are busted. It feels kinda bland that most skills are “if x, unit gets +stats”. Most actual Fire emblem skills use wording that provides a boost to “attack” or “hit” rather than strength or skill. Usually if you’re going to give raw stats it should be low numbers or harder reqs than these. I feel like you underestimate the distance of 3 range, Roy and Zealot are going to be pretty insane, especially considering you can stack them and probably obsolete anything that isn’t a cav since you can just death ball with +5 attack. That’s not even counting that Roy’s supports with Lance, Allen, and Marcus are already some of the most optimal in the game for providing great stat boosts at the same 3 range. The Christmas cavs will be absolutely insane and you don’t even need to think about their personal skills because they’ll slaughter everything regardless. Some of the skills just seem a little unnecessarily verbose or complicated when you could achieve the same effect with very little power variation. Like Sue, just buff her on outdoor maps and cut most of the excess wording. Or Lilina, 5 range is literally going to be most of your army at all times, just let her buff everyone on the map since it’s just a meager 5 crit avo. Or Wendy, just let her have the +2/+4 hp. Also I don’t think it’s reasonable to give Wendy +4 movement with the skill, it’s going to encourage strats where you deploy the other two armors and never use them because Wendy will run way ahead. It’s strange that some skills do almost nothing (Rutgur literally has negative synergy with itself) while someone like Dieck (nearly as good as rutgur) just gets a promotion-tier boost to the best non-move stats in the game for something he’ll be doing all the time anyway.
For my second least favorite cast in the series gonna give my thoughts on each as I watch though. Roy: A good and decent damage boost that could help some of the weaker units actually be useful for damage. Marcus: Okay an amazing skill, especially around axe users who good luck getting them to be useful. 5 Skill will really help with the absolute unbalanced and poorly made mess that is FE6 Alen: A pretty solid one, not much more I can say. Much like his character. Lance: Okay I like the synergy with Alen's a lot. Wolt: Okay this I fucking love. As one of the few people that recognizes Wolt as one of the few characters with actual character, the ability for him to get even better upon leveling assuredly is quite nice. I would honestly have made it two extra stats instead of just one. Merlinus: Magnificent. Perfect to his character too. Ellen: Yeah thats a basic healer girl ability. Perfect for basic healer girl.png Dieck: No complaints or snark. Just spot on. Wade: Already went from F tier unit to A tier off that alone. One good axe hit can kill many good units in FE6... Problem is the axe hitting so kudos. Lot: True to his character, and a good personal buff support skill. Shanna: She just becomes a Berwick lance unit who instead of extra damage gets extra hit. I can dig it. Chad: Very specific but very fitting. Once again no complaints. Lugh: Cue the MLP theme. Patreon: Weak skill. Immediately goes on the bench. Clarine: Okay she's a tough one so kudos for trying. Rutger: The definition of the Monster Energy Drink "Kill" meme. As you said he could have no personal and still be like 2nd or 3rd best unit in the game. If you wanted to go off his vengeance or something it could be +1 str or something for every kill he gets on enemy phase till the end of player phase. Saul: Saul/10 Dorothy: Suits her perfectly so no complaints. Sue: Her skill is as interesting as her character. Zealot: Okay just make cavs even better why dontcha? Treck: Okay another super fitting character skill. Noah: Once again like how it's a mirror of his knight companion Treck. Astolfo: Beautiful personal skill. Allows the man to get the fuck outta dodge when doing his job. Lilina: As basic and boring as she is as a character. Fits perfectly. Bors: Triangle Attack Knight/10 Barthe: Triangle Attack Knight/10 Wendy: Triangle Attack Knigh- Wait thats actually really fucking neat. Ogier: Honestly forgot he existed so... Kudos. Can't wait for part 2!
For Rutger I had a different idea. If Rutger crits an enemy that was already going to die without a crit, he gains +3 strength, skill and speed for the turn (does not stack)
The knight buffs are not a bad idea, especially Wendy getting the most generous buffs compensating for her being ass. Still, just for "being deployed" is a bit too much. I would give them the buffs for being close together.
I'mma let you finish, but FE6 doesn't need Roy to give +3 damage to units within 3 spaces, it needs Roy to give +15 Hit to units within 3 spaces.
I probably should have let you finish, lots of accuracy right after...
Honest too god that would be 5 times better
Here's another idea for Wolt:
*Milk Brothers:* If Wolt is adjacent to Roy, grants both of them +10 hit and Renewal
So for lugh's skill he becomes sora and Góes "my friends are my power"
Funny how Roy's skill is just his support bonus, but for everyone.
Like Leif
"How do I weaponize Angelica Pickles energy" is my new favorite quote.
13:05 is also hilarious.
Wade just became pretty fucking insane big axe to kill
I think you should take a page from Engage and give Roy Hold Out. I.e. survive on 1 HP if above 1 HP.
It's also good because it means you want to engage bosses with him and can do so safely, giving you access to their special dialogue.
What special dialogue? Roy has 1 boss conversation and he doesn't say anything in it. (Its Murdock for the record)
So basically better miracle
Yea, I feel like way too many of these are extraordinarily OP, but these type of videos are always fun to watch.
Wow I was actually just theorycrafting these recently. I’m interested in seeing how our ideas differ
A good number of these were pretty similar conceptually, down to having the exact same name for Wolt’s skill. I came up with +3 attack on enemies Wolt hasn’t fought yet, since you need new foes to keep improving.
I love that idea!
I tried to think about something for Elen and... All I could think of was staff range +1 so she's basically playing Fates.
"for every 20% crit chance he gains one strenght"
Rutger:this is my crit chance
Every enemy in the game:DEAR GOD
Rutger:there's more *skill procs because of attack*
Every enemy in the game:NO-
Thanks for caring for our health
Give Roy hold out
Personal skills are one of the best additions to the franchise. I even liked how Fates gave scuffed unofficial named weapons to most characters.
Tbh if I was in charge, I'd give Rutger extra hit, crit and crit avoid against either bosses, or against enemies on terrain
Not because it would make sense for his character or because it would be balanced, but because fuck fe6 hard mode bosses on thrones
Merlinus’s skill would make him an easy deploy for rescue drops if you can get consistent setups
"Yeah, I guess the Roy personal was a but OP, but Roy needs all the buffs he can get. I doubt he'll make them all OP. He's probably exaggerat- oh, nope, he made them all OP."
I love how they are based on support conversations.
Roy's ability is Mega Camilla's and I love it. I'd say this will fix him for sure, it fixed Alear after all.
Also, gotta love how half of the abilities are a desperate attempt of fixing FE6 hit rates!
Should've given the armour knights all the same personal skill: Triangle Attack of Fail! Because it's the most memorable thing they ever did.
Nice vid, I think most of these fit in gameplay-character integration
If you need one for Raigh here's one
Raigh: Every time Raigh improves his weapon/staff ranks he gets 1 point to magic
My man just made Marcus the best unit in the game
Rutger: Survival Instinct, when at 50% his strength is +5 and gains 25% hit increase.
Insert Armour Clad Faith Joke about deploying the Armour Trio
I wonder, will you do videos like these for the rest of the games? Seeing personal skills for Marth's army (even if they have basically nothing to base them off of) or the Awakening cast would be fun to watch!
Darros' Personal Skill: Become Sail
Darros Became Sail
Late but agood addition to lugh would be -2 def for every bern unit on the team, since he hates bern for burning down his orphanage and he openly admits to milady that he joined the war to "hurt" bern(not literally the aame but the idea remains)
The Patreon caught me off guard, had a good laugh
I'd add to sworn protector all allies adjacent to her gain +1 to defense, resistence and luck.
"You'll be lucky if one of my personal skills doesn't break the game"
Proceeds to give Marcus a terrible personal
Wolt's personal skill could be that on level ups, he gains an additional +1 to a stat which is an adjacent ally's highest stat (except HP). This leaves you with up to +38 in extra stats that you can choose to add to Wolt guaranteed, as long as you're tactical.

Granted there are things like, multiple adjacent allies and multiple 'highest stats', which I suppose can be left up to chance at that point, but I think a growth unit you can have some control over is something that could work really well.
wow this is awesome, if only there were more videos like this by other youtubers
If only, how crazy would that be?
I think the only small change I would make is maybe change Lilinas to something involving fire, like “Enflaming friendship” or something involving flames and making friends. Idk sociable just seems weird to me, and she’s all about fire, so it makes sense. The idea for the skill though is great though. And really all of them.👍
i love the idea of a skill that just lets you attack Saul
no practical reason at all. but freaking hilarious
11:45 I mean, they aren't. If you check the enemy stats, you can see the Sacaen, Entrurian, Lician, etc... All have that instead of Bern in the stat screen. So a skill like that would actually be balance.
Besides, if Oboro could have Nohrian enmity as a skill, Rutger can have Bern hatred.
So if you were to Shorten Trec's skill it would be "His World"?
You, Bernese Knights… How much weight can you handle
With how many enemies you can recruit Roy seems to have pretty good personal skills already. Theres not a lot of Introverts in the cast.
omg these are all great! Especially loved Roy, Merlinus, Wade, and the armor trio. I know a lot of them were just to "fix" the hit rates, but I much prefer these flavorful skills to boost reliability then just a flat increase to weapon hit, which is what a lot of balance patches try.
For Wolt he can get +1 in one growth rate each time he kill an enemy, which one would be determined by the class of the enemy
Eh, when you said they would be busted, I was expecting much worse. If the circumstances allow, the skills will be very powerful if used in combination with each other, but considering how many require positioning, terrain, or attack order, I think they’re almost all fine.
For Lugh, if they don't just give him straight up aptitude in a FE6 remake, I'd probably make something about how he feels about the events surrounding his life, he is a very nice and kind kid, yes, but he still is fighting for vengeance, he still wants to avenge Lucius, and for that he starts hating Bern on a personal level, as shown in Melady's support, so I'd probably make something like that, either something that relates to Lucius in some way (He was the closest to him before death, even rebuilding the orphanage into a magic school) or relating to his desire for vengeance, so, the ones I could come up are:
[Orphan of a Pure Soul:
When Lugh attacks and defeats an enemy on his turn, the ally with the lowest health in his attack range heals 10% health]
This one is the best one I could come up relating to Lucius without creating a skill that only works if Lugh is promoted or making it Sages work like their Sacred Stones version, but it relates to Lucius role as a healer and caretaker, and if you look further into it, you could also say it relates to the other person who possibly helped Lucius with the Orphanage, Raven, combining both Raven's offense and Lucius support, the people who made Lugh into the person he is today.
[Hatred Under Innocent Eyes:
If Lugh enters combat with no allies of Bernian origin near him, +4 Res, If there are units of Bernian origin near him, +4 Mag]
This one is particularly interesting, it works as both how Lugh feels more confident not being near people from the country he hates so much, and when he is, he gets filled with rage from all the things that happened to him because of Bern
It also works due to making Lugh get closer to Bernian units, as in him maturing and understanding that the problem is not Bern as a whole, but Zephiel and the Wyvern Generals, just like what it happened in his support with Melady

Hmmm, probably not really useful or noticeable enough.

Have you heard about Roy’s bizarre adventure increasing his level cap by 10? I thought that was an awesome middle ground solution for roy’s situation! (though I forgot the name of the channel whose video was recommended.)
I was thinking Roy would incorporate the support system somehow. Either making nearby units support faster or making the support buffs stronger
technically the buff from that skill is just his support buff
I think for Elen maybe have a more personal skill tailored to her magic/staffs use like
Dazzling Demeanor:
When unit uses Heal/Mend on ally, raises Def +1 or Str +1. (May boost both Def and Str, Trigger = % Luck)
It provides her enough viable uses on map and nice constant stat boost for front line units yeah ?
I'd maybe make Lilina's skill double support bonuses
Technically Wendy's skill increases her movement. I don't think it's worth it, but I find it funny
12:32 I mean he is a priest
If you want Zealot's skill to make sense, it could just apply to Cavaliers. Besides by the time you promote them to paladins, Zealot will likely fall off real soon anyway.

Yes, but only when you stand on top of it, when you enter it there are no bonuses
@@mauricioalvarezpino1818 Good. I was thinking that you made a skill for a place that it wouldn't work in.
Wolt sure is... Okay. Like he isn't terrible but not great
Now after FE6 do FE4.
Some of these are way too complex for fe 6.
The fact that most of these increase hit shows the fault of fe6’s combat.
