For most of my career I’ve been a welder/motorsports mechanic. The last 6 months I’ve been a garbage truck mechanic. HOLE-EEEE-COW the intertwining of pneumatics, hydraulics and CAN/BUS is an eye opening experience for me. The ease in which you speak of and diagnose/repair these systems is amazing. Don’t ever take your knowledge for granted.
It’s crazy that they didn’t have a valve body available for that tractor, we’ve been waiting for about a month now on a turbo for a 7130 premium, John Deere needs a better support system for parts, someone shouldn’t have to wait this long for a damn turbo.
It's not just Deere Jed. A while back i needed a turbocharger actuator for a Cummins. There were 906 of them on national backorder. Sure is a good idea to move manufacturing out of America, isn't it ?
This lack of having spare parts is because the companies have CFO's as the most important person in top of the company. These CFO have nothing up with "service" by means of sufficient spares so the customer will be satisfied and can keep his stuff running with a minimum of downtime. The old CEO's new they had customers who could count on their dealers and everything behind the dealers. No service meant, no new ordering new machines. The CFO's don't give a "sh..t" about a satisfied customer/user. They only see as-low-as-possible amount of spare on the shelf. That costs money and that is in their eyes "dead money". Not only in the US, but also here in the EU, since the "Boss" changed into CEO with those CFO'S next to them and now above them in the company, the service tumbled down, unfortunately.
@@josdaalmans6977 Worked for the railroad, maintenance equipment overhaul in the shop. We had our own "stores" but the mechanical part had no control over the "stores". Our stores had some new female twit take over and she started deleting parts from stock--unknown to our management. The machines came in for overhaul, majority in the winter months, when we are up to our asses in snow. So now we had machines in for repair and no parts. They asked that goof why she had deleted so many. "Her computer told her they weren't moving enough" Well of course not ya goof, the machines are in the field working all summer, that's why "her" parts were not moving. BUT that's the way things go these days with "on time delivery which means they stock f all", except it isn't on time for the consumer that needs said part.
