    There is a temp sensor there below the upper radiator hose on the thermostat housing that shorts out and causes that short circuit in the shutoff solenoid system. It's very common on those tractors. If you unplug the sensor and replace the fuse it will run fine.

    Hey Warren, some great troubleshooting there on those jobs. The only thing I might have done differently is push the tractor a little farther in the shelter so you wouldn’t have to lay in the mud. Cute puppy you got there. He must miss being right next to you. Thanks much for the Sunday video. Much appreciated!

    Oh no... as soon as you said "reman" I knew exactly which tractor that is. I remember you had to get your wife to pull you back to the shop.
    Man, I'll take that old iron over today's junk (specially JD junk).
    Warren, my JD4710 compact utility is gravity feed and made roughly the same year as that 5410 is, I believe the 6000 models and higher may have the lift pump, can't say for sure though. I was going to say, fuses should be directly underneath the steering wheel, they are on my 4710. I said, I believe 6000 models and up, they changed things. Sure can hear that Yanmar engine run though... Great video as always, cheers :)

    Hi Warren, another great video. We have a fleet of Deere 5620's No transfer pumps on them , they rely on the vane pump on the injection pump to pull fuel, the cab models came with an electric transfer pump. And yes it's a dumb idea.

    Awesome job. Tough working conditions. Hey Warren, when corporate put the pressure or whatever they did to my once favorite stand alone John Deere dealer, he committed suicide. I hate saying much about it as that is horrible. A multi dealer corporation took over and it was just not good from then on. All the former employees lost their jobs permanently. They lost me as a longtime customer.

    • @westerntruckandtractorrepa1353
      @westerntruckandtractorrepa1353  6 днів тому +6

      Same thing here, they have monopolized their tractor sales because they eliminated dealer competition, and they have tried to monopolize their service with their proprietary approach to software on their newer tractors. I personally hope they go broke.

    Too bad about the Deere Engine. It will be interesting to see what went wrong with it. Pretty cool old drill rig. Hooch is a cute little pup. We had a litter of Black Lab Pups back in 2005. We had a hard time getting rid of them, so they went to a few friends. We were able to watch them grow old and become awesome dogs. One of my friends was going through some tough times and the dog was exactly what he needed and she turned out to be a great dog.
    Glad you were able to spend some time with your son. Thanks a bunch for the videos, really appreciate them.

    It’s usually not the coil, it’s the temp sensor in the water manifold just above the pump.
    Unplug it and the fuse will hold. That 5410 obviously hasn’t been washed enough to screw up the fuse holders yet. Clean tractors on a farm have corroded fuses! 20 series was the same but on the 25 series the geniuses moved the fuse panel down in front of the rear axle by your left heel! There will be so much crap and mud packed around it, you’ll have to dig for it! Needed to have the fuses under the hood where engine heat will keep them dry!
    Got a 5420 with over 9000 hours still.

    The engines you rebuild seem to hold up, but that's because of your attention to detail and making sure everything is done right.
