Hey Warren, great work at troubleshooting. Sure takes a long time to figure out the problem doesn’t it. But you’re the man to do it! Thanks much for our video.
I haven't watched the whole video, so I assume you found something wrong other than the sensor. I have run into a similar problem with trailer ABS sensors. Since the sensor is a generator, it's possible that even 1ohm of line resistance may cause the variation between input and output readings. I don't know ANY of the particulars for your tractor, like how wide the allowable voltage variation is, so this is pure speculation based on general electrical principle. Always interesting to watch your troubleshooting videos!👍
I work on dirt equipment, and electrical crap is the biggest issue. Farm equipment doesn't need all this crap it's one thing or another that always gives up the ghost. Great work again, Warren keep posting we all learn so mush from you😊
As a novice tech compare to your experience I really appreciate your diagnostics videos .. unfortunately my company doesn’t supply these like CASE, CAT, DEERE etc we kinda gotta learn as it comes but just the process’s I really appreciate I learn something from Almost every heavy field mechanic I encounter on YT or in the field
Warren, you are a Wizard when it comes to this type of Diagnostics. Crows Foot Toque wrench. Tac a socket to an open end wrench. That's why you save broken tools. A snapped wrench and a cracked socket. Thank you
On the MX magnums a quirky things can happen if the w wire on the alternator isn't giving the right reading for engine rpm. The PTO will run 6 seconds and quit. It happened to me when I didn't have the right wire on the W terminal. The dealer had it happened when the wrong size alternator pulley was used and they had get the original pulley back on.
I'm an Aerospace Engineer, been involved in all sorts of projects, troubleshooting etc. This fascinates me, subscribed and binge watched quite a few videos so far 😅. You've got quite the skill set, keep it up.
Warren, dam, what a challenge , I got into it with you,and then your farmer friend pulled through,I know it’s 4mo old vid,but I think I missed up till now, wiring work seems to draws me to it,not sure why,but I enjoyed, see ya later.

Man, we had the most rediculously tough harnesses for military electronics. I wish manufacturers used the tougher wire insulation. And we used to use a lot of cabling with multiple wires in the same flat molded cable...and some were twisted for noise immunity. That stuff was a bear to strip, but it really lasted.
Hi warren have made a boobo ant turnd off coments did you pick your light up when you left the newholland tractor you were spot on when spke about it beeing thight in the tractor 👍✌
Thank you for the lesson, I really appreciate it. Where do you get the repair manuals or the program you use? From what I see, it is very complete. I would appreciate it since I also work on tractors and I need more information about manuals and programs.👍🏼
You found the problem....I have seen on MX tractors that have a problem with the PTO kicking off that it's sometimes related to the alternator belt. Apparently it compares alternator speed and PTO speed and shuts off the PTO if it sees a difference. If the belt slips it causes the error. Not a great design.
When it comes to ohm testing and electrical diagnostic there is always a range provided. When it pertains to solenoids the resistance changes with temperature. It is very important to test your leads before every by touching them together and verify that they have 0 ohms or as close to 0 ohms as possible. I can't even count how many times I have been asked to help troubleshoot electrial problems and when I test the persons leads they have 4-20 ohms of resistance and everything they have previously tested must be tested again. When it comes to coils and solenoids I have a personal rule to replace the part if it varies by 5% more than the stated specification. Another common thing I see when it comes to electrical diagnostics is people not understanding how to properly set or use their multimeter. People get confused with range settings on meters without auto ranging or people get confused when the meter changes range from ohms to kiloohms, they do not understand that 5k ohms and 5000 ohms is the same thing. Harbor Freight has an optical tachometer that works pretty good.
It's hard to believe that there are those who don't know 5k ohms and 5000 ohms are the same thing! But there are a lot of things that don't surprise me these days where schools are more concerned teaching about gender issues than teaching kids what they should be taught Math, English, Science, etc. Well i suppose it will make the politically correct go insane with me saying English but.....

Ptf manuals suck to use in the field but it sure is easier than trying to carry around a stack of manuals. But I admit that I often print out parts that I'm actually using. I'm to old to go back and forth all day and I can't trust that I'll remember the complex instructions.
was going to say the the same thing about printing out the pages you need, and take them to the machine. I do it for tq charts and electrical troubleshooting all the time
Yes ! poor alternators cause spikes in nearby wires by their own workings ,damaging COMPONENTS beyond his scope of workings . I run alternator main runs different route for that reason ,computers fail if voltage is not properly regulated .
That manual is like an escape room, where you have to find clues that will lead you out. But the manual has extra stuff to divert you from the desired solution. OMG. I hope you escape.

Also, when you have a slow day Id like to have you come out and take a look at her. Everything works but having some leak down problems with the boom. Hope you have a great day!
Nice. We are working on our new holland tg 230 that has a faulty arm rest controller which has been discontinued as well. Apparently there is a Canadian company that builds them but of course cnh wants to work with them so the prices doubled according to the dealer
Had loose terminal on ref wire at alternator on our Mx 135 and it would shut off randomly tightened up terminal fitment haven’t had issue since believe I was getting that 67 code
💯 ya need to get an oscilloscope. Your sharp enough to pick it up fast. Ohm test is just one way to test something. That is a 2 wire ac sensor. They can loose their amplitude of the output. With a scope you can get a waveform and especially if you have another machine to pull known good waveform from it's easy to test without going through that flow chart. Those flow charts suck and I mean for automobiles hardly ever are they right
Just had to replace the alternator on my mx200 my son was running it on the plows shut it off to eat lunch started it back up and it wouldn't move because the transmission wasn't reading the same rpm as engine
MFG flow charts can be a pain in the ass to follow, you should get yourself an oscilloscope. They are a life saver when checking sensors and intermittent power issues.
I willing to bet that old alternator might have fried that controller, seeing as though it takes RPM readings from it to calibrate itself. Zap and puff the magic smoke.
I am going to say something about tightening bolts and torque wrenches. To all the keyboard experts out there that have never done any wrenching but jump at any chance to criticize people...JUST TIGHTEN THE DAMN THING UP!!!
