- French-Algerian guitar master Pierre Bensusan will stop by WTJU Friday afternoon, November 11, at 3 for a special session at The Stage which you can watch at WTJU’s Facebook page and UA-cam channel. It will air at a later date on WTJU radio. WTJU is delighted to present Pierre at the Southern Cafe & Music Hall that same night.
This is a free event, open to all. Masks are strongly encouraged for all attendees. You can also listen to Offbeat Roadhouse on the radio (91.1 FM) or on-line, and even video stream it at WTJU’s Facebook page or UA-cam channel. But concerts always sound better with you as part of the studio audience. WTJU is located at 2244 Ivy Rd in Charlottesville, right next door to Vivace. There is plenty of parking, both in our lot as well as the Sentara lot next door.
A live Bensusan experience is MAGICAL!.. MERCI PIERRE!
Such a lovely style
Went to one of his workshops at Stonefield Cellars Winery, and it was an incredible experience. A truly wonderful musician, who is kind, humble, and generous.
For the very first time I went to a concert of Pierre Bensusan in Agen , France in November last year. It was a very small venue, so I appreciated chatting with him and being able to express my admiration for his music. The concert was an unforgettable experience and I was super motivated and inspired again to make progress and learn more on the guitar (at my level of course).
He is unique in his poetic style and so gifted as a musician and guitar player.
Pierre is a legendary musician. But he's an even more wonderful human being. I was blessed to perform shows with him during his 2022 North American tour! #grateful
Such a genius... I like his song "La Java du concessionnaire" - it's impossible how he can do that I'd say "asynchronous" singing with playing the guitar at the same (haven't seen him playing it live yet but I don't doubt he can do it). He keeps that waltz rhythm going but in between plays some sort of lead... amazing!
Songs performed:
Le Lendemain de la Fete
L'Alchimiste
Demain, Des l'Aube
You are remarkable!
It's interesting to hear Pierre say he doesn't keep instruments around that he doesn't play, as they are a distraction.....must be the exception to guitarists who have large collections on hand!
