I've just bought an empty case and after I fixed the problem I slipped the electronics into the new case and the two halves clip together without the need for glue. Handy for the next time it needs repair. Probably a Chinese product.
There is a small transparent bezel around the card key entry slot. It glows at night so you can see where to put the key. Is it safe to file this down to allow a slightly larger card slot? I have a silicone cover that fits over the card, but it's too big to go in.
My card is good to start the engine but it keeps locking the car without me pressing the lock button. Moreover it does not unlock the car. What can I do.
Just seen this, its the solder joins that go on them but open it breaks the key so by applying pressure from outside you get the connection working again without striping the card open.
Go on e-bay you can pick a after market card for £25 not worth soldering just buy new card ,often a fault with the coil on these cards, I can program in a new after market card for £100 card included
I don't have to put my card anyway near the card slot to start, which would lead me to believe it's a battery problem in your card. How do you get into the car if the card isn't detected to unlock the door?
bridgendesar My Renault Scenic is having problems with the keycard system. What has happened to this chap is the same as mine where you can lock / unlock the doors no problem but it’s getting the press clutch or brake to start to enable cranking then starting to take place.

would repairing the card reader like you have done cure the solid red light and stop button on dash that's why it won't start.

@@chrisrichmond403 Theers a clutch switch over the pedal usually if its faulty the car will not start
The dumbest design of a key 🔑.. I wonder 🤔 if they fired the drunk that come up with the idea...
Or just buy a new card case from eBay
