My ‘87 f150 5.0 with ac and ps has no idler other than the tensioner, which is up top between the alternator and coolant fan. The smog pump seized leaving me stranded, and no auto parts store could order one much have one in stock. My bypass routing now has, after the ps pump, the fan then crankshaft, instead of the crankshaft then fan/water pump. I used 885K6 belt, or 6PK2250.
Interesting, I wonder why yours didn’t have the idler pulley like the other ones do. Thanks for the tip tho, hopefully people will see this if they run into the same problem as you. I’m gonna pin this comment so it stays at the top. Thanks for the input and the view!

Do you just leave all the hoses, tubes, and vacuum lines attached? Just take the pump out and reroute the belt with another belt and you get no codes thrown?
I took all the stuff off, lines. Hoses, egr system everything, then I got the egr delete kit off eBay and cap it off and plug the connector, and then I ran 2 100 ohm resistors in the TAB and TAD solenoid connectors

@@maaacbroom8127 I just did the same work on a 1992 f150 v8 5.0/302ci and I think the confusion is in belt routing… There seems to be two routing options: 1. Crankshaft-Power Steering-AC Compressor-Tensioner-Alternator-Water Pump-repeat… 2. Crankshaft-Water Pump-Power Steering-AC Compressor-Tensioner-Alternator-repeat… I used an 89” effective length belt from Autozone (Duralast 890K6) which worked PERFECTLY with option #2 routing. HOWEVER; I mistakenly used option #1 routing at first using the exact same belt which yielded a huge amount of excess before I realized my my mistake. So I’m lead to believe that (@Not a bot) may have successfully used this routing with an 80” belt.
