Same thing after Desert Storm (Iraq, the first time). Everyone was beating off to it and go a false sense of security which led to the debacles by Bush Jr. and I am retired US Army Infanty, 27yrs. Bush Sr., took a lot of criticism after we liberated Kuwait and stopping there, rather than continuing to Baghdad. He knew exactly what he was doing. FYI, Bush Sr., was a US Navy Fighter Pilot in WWII. The sole survivor of a raid on a Japanese held island. He had to ditch in the ocean and float alone for a few hours until rescue. War is not a video game.

Hearing about Russia losing 900 soldiers a day doesn't make me jump up from my seat as if we're ahead now, it makes me realize the horrors of war and what a waste of human life it really is. A large portion of these soldiers are civilians forced into conscription, it's horrible to think about. It's important for Ukraine to win, but all the fighting is a terrible waste of human life

Im a contractor with the army and i taught many ukrainians on American systems which i wont specify. One thing i notice is there determination to learn and innovate on practically the equipment they were given to them. With my extensive experience i was surprised of the new ways they can use our own military equipment and sometimes run it on subsistence level. On an instance when i was observing their mechanics and one of them dropped a bolt through the engine bay. They put a stop on whatever that crew was doing to specifically get the missing bolt to avoid problems. They have very thorough with PMCS and 10/20. It's turning now. Territory is proving hard to take, for both sides. But neither has made airpower decisive. SEAD is beginning, with all the HIMARS ammo we have given. It will get more intense, as the F16s use ARM type ordinance. But once that phase is over, direct ground support from the air will allow breakthroughs.
But the most significant fact of all, isn't Ukrainian victory. In a very real sense, Ukraine has lost so much in this war. But the loss to Russia will be felt for a generation, at least. Putin is throwing away 80 years worth of military build up, and wrecking Russias demographics permanently. Russia will be lucky to not break apart in the aftermath of this war, new uprisings not only in places like Tatarstan, Dagestan, Buryatia, and Chechnya, but also among ethnic Russians in Transbaikal and the Far East as well. It may well be that Russia, or some part of it, will soon be little more than a Chinese puppet. Putin is putting an end to Russias great power status.

So we recently sent some ATACMS to Ukraine, a single $1,000,000.00 missile destroyed an entire S-400 which costs about $500,000,000.00. That's a more then 450x return on investment for the USA.
Let's say Ukraine was actually unwinnable (which it's not, invasions are hard, defending against them is less hard), the return on investment is still worth it. However I'm not a fan of such short sighted ideas as you are. We don't need just one more aid package, we need a long term plan to sustain Ukraine with aid packages to show Russia it's only real choice is returning to your land (I'm sorry I meant "their" ;) ).
Still even with more then five months of no aid from the USA, Russia was barely able to take any ground. To me it's a simple matter of priorities, as an American do I prioritize saving a couple bucks on missiles today, or do I prioritize American lives, and trillions in a third world war being spent?
Russia lost WWI, survived WWII, and that's only because the second time we were sending them aid like we are Ukraine. Only comparatively Russia was dealing with a larger invasion force and got more aid.

The average Ukrainian soldier is what like 43? Probably older at this point. Zelenskyy chose to listen to the wrong side during the peace summit that took place in 2022. He bet on the west, and lost. Even if NATO Comes into the conflict all out, Ukraine still looses no matter the result of the war. The Ukrainian population will be replaced by foreigners, and their culture will wither away into the history books. Shit sucks, it could of been avoided, and western leaders chose war.

How do you figure that? Money is how wars are won and lost; as long as you can buy the resources you need and the enemy can't you'll win. It's what won WWII and WWI.
Our global trade partners will gladly sale us the machinery to ramp up production, not to mention internal sourcing the only issue is we're not willing to pay for several new factories right now. We've doubled the assembly lines inside existing factories and that's taking a while sure. It'd take less time the more we're willing to spend.
Money can't solve the problem overnight but that's what our stocks are for. Not the one's we're allowed to give away, the stocks we're mandated to keep on hand. The fact we have more then that is a good sign towards our preparedness but only one way to find out. We should go inside Russia and bring the fight to Moscow.

Russia is saying they will start hitting military targets in Europe and Britain, and if the west doesn't back down, ... the nuclear option follows next.
Now seriously, do you even know what started all this?
have you ever even researched Russia's side of this?
if you did, you would not be supporting Ukraine and you certainly wouldn't want to get nuked over it.
RUSSIA has 11 nuclear subs just off our coast waiting for the orders to launch.a
Each missile launched will carry a payload of at least 8 missiles tipped with nuclear payloads.
In less than 5 minutes, at least 100 cities in the US will be vaporized.
And this is the subs, and not the ICBMS from Russia.
Then China will launch against us too.
I'm asking you again, do you have any understanding that the people if Ukraine asked Russia to come in and stop Kiev from shelling them. What do you think the 2015 Minsk agreement was about, that Kiev bragged about breaking?

Putin fired him in mid-May. Another huge factor for Putin to consider is the massive 'brain drain' Russia is experiencing due to the Ukraine war mobilization moves. Over 700,000 educated, productive, and essential Russian men have fled Russia, never to return. That fact plus the reduction of oil revenues created by Ukrainian drone attacks on refineries inside Russia is hollowing out the Russian economy.

@@larrousseyves9408 Ukraine has been managing to launch long range drones right over the front lines and hit targets in Russia itself. They've caused serious damage to some Russian oil refineries and pumping facilities. The Russian Air Defense seems to be pretty soft. One video shows what was basically a remotely piloted light sport aircraft loaded with fuel and explosives crashing into the Salavat oil refinery. A plane that can't even make 200mph, flew 900+ miles over Russian territory and didn't get shot down, and managed to seriously damage a catalytic cracking unit.
And Ukraine's air force was a generation behind Russia's. Their most modern planes were SU-27s and Mig-29s last upgraded in the 1980s. The F-16s are older A and B models but have had their mid-life upgrades and are in far better condition than Ukraine's jets. And the F-16's presence means Ukraine will be able to actually use SEAD and CAS tactics to assist their ground forces. Where the Ukrainians presently have to use artillery to hit Russian fortified artillery positions, an F-16 can go in and strike multiple targets, causing the Russian line to collapse. And Russian fighters will have a much harder time with the newer F-16s and their AIM-120D AMRAAMs.

@@larrousseyves9408The Russian air defence system is about useful as a bucket with 30 holes in it. So much gets through you could fly an entire air force through without being hit. Day by day it gets smaller and smaller without nothing else replacing it.

The bulk purchases replacements of the EOL equipment we send over, thereby saving decommissioning costs. The manufacturing of these replacements had created thousands of jobs here in the U.S..
