It’s too bad they deleted the scene that Julian refers to. Such a great and funny scene. Pycelle stuttering after getting called out might be the funniest scene in the entire show.
For anyone who is curious, as of 2010, Julian Glover is aware of his "role" in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. When I was at the Autograph Hall in Star Wars: Celebration V in Orlando, I asked Julian Glover he was aware that his character Aragog appeared again in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Surprisingly, he did not know this. He replied: "No, I wasn't in that one...". I smiled and said: "That's because he's dead!" He had just gotten out of the hospital and was a little hard of hearing, so he prompted me to repeat myself: "That's because he's dead!" Julian chuckled and replied: "Oh, he doesn't talk much, does he?.... Did they have a spider-shaped coffin for him?". I said: "No! He's just lying there on the ground, and Hagrid, Harry and a new professor named Horace Slughorn hold a private funeral." I briefly quoted Slughorn: "Farewell... Aragog. King of the Arachnids....". Julian seemed amused, to say the least.
Maybe it's just his style, he certainly has had a remarkable career. But is that fact about Lysa Tully revealed later on, when she marries Littlefinger? Varys and he have stirred up a lot of shit, but he seems amoral while Varys at least claims to be well-intentioned.

Not really, he lampshaded it himself by saying that it wasn't very modest of him. It's all in the delivery, and believing in oneself isn't wrong unless one insists on being an asshole about it. Besides, I think he's right, he is a far better actor and using him more added more to the Pycelle character.
This guy has NO clue ! or hes tryin to be clever ! Pycelle dies @ 85 years of age...shot with a crossbow, by Lords Varys... HAHAHAHA ! he and Kevan Lannister get it in the same exact night, by same exact GUY ! (Varys)....

Did I say *this* character? No. I just said character death, i.e. the death of *a* character. Consider yourself unspoiled as long as you didn't watch the video. You're welcome.
This is what I wondered about, as in Pycelle's scene with Tyrion after he has been wounded Pycelle is not stooped or shaking because he knows Tyrion is no longer a threat.
George R. R. Martin was talking in an interview about how they had to manipulate the ages and dates because of Daenerys being 13 in the books, and the standards and practices censors would never allow a girl portrayed as 13 being raped and so sexual. So, to make up the dates and such they stretched out the time by 5 or 6 years, I think. I know that doesn't add 19 years to the Maesters age. also, the actors being cast have a look about them, that compared with others makes them appear older.
Someone walking street told Charles Dance how his character would die and and because Dance likes to speak about his book death now probably everyone on set knows how he will die, but surely not in this season...
Wow, quite the revelation. She doesn't seem unintelligent during interviews, in reality, most of them are quite innocent, but there was one where I felt she was at a loss for words. Keep in mind she is still a child, 17 years of age, not accustomed to the glitzy world of show business.
that's probably a good thing, it was a terrible scene, terrible idea. it just doesn't make any sense overall. Also, he gives away one of the biggest spoilers in the entire series here. Good actor, but he comes across as arrogant here
She might (depending on how some things work out... I'm trying not to spoil on the comments). But if she still has dragons (and if they are controlable... a reasonable concern if you read book 5), whoever is in power at the time is SO screwed.
Does anyone notice he sounds a bit like Jeremy Irons? He's so underrated as an actor. But I think the reason we haven't seen much of him on the big screen is because of his theatre work. Seems an awesome guy in real life aswell.
So thrilled Julian Glover will be starring in #Scottsboro Boys London @Young Vic Theatre - see him in person starting October 18th! @ScottsboroLdn

You're welcome! My first time reading the books was an incredible experience and I want those who first encounter GRRM's plot through the show to have the same chance as I did to be shocked and amazed. :-)
If the producers ever got upset at him for giving away spoilers, he'd just start doddering and gibbering and acting senile until they let him go.
Hahahahahhahahaha... your comment is such a winner!
It is 'Grand Maester Pycelle' not 'Grand Master Pycelle'.
General Veers works for the Lannisters!!
"Target, maximum firepower!"
Imagine if his name had been Grand Maester Veers.
his voice is SO different than his character's...
honestly its not that different :p
His normal voice is very apparent in the deleted scene he mentions. Shame that scene didn’t make the show.
It’s more the way he talks that’s very different
It’s too bad they deleted the scene that Julian refers to. Such a great and funny scene. Pycelle stuttering after getting called out might be the funniest scene in the entire show.
Man this guy has quite an ego.
Bro he is an experience one so it look like he has ego
..But i don't think ..
Senior actor should act like him i guess
@@aryannick472 what did he do?
he has a MUCH stronger voice in real life!
He was General Veers, after all! ;)
This is one of the best actors of the time, even today.
So now we know which family Pycelle comes from - he's a Glover! ;-)
His scenes with Tywin got cut
Yes, massive let down.
god I hate grand maester pycelle... but its so hard to hate julian glover
Grandmaster 😂 he isn't playing chess miss interviewer .. come on
Crazy to me how the man that plays the Grand Maester in GoT played Donovan in The Last Crusade.
The thing you need to know about kings is...

For someone who got aged to death in '89, he looks pretty good!
sadly the scene that he described with tywin was cut from the hbo broadcast )=

If he doesn't know how the character he is playing dies, maybe he should read the books?

One shouldn't really watch these interviews, it kind of detracts from the characters. I mean did you expect Bran to be a cockney in reality?
I was expecting him to talk really boring and slow and later show her the way out even though she knows the way.
SPOILER:
lol too bad pycelle dies like a bitch at Varys' hands... i wobder if he knows that
If you haven't read the books, don't watch the video. Some spoilers about character death.
Im i the only one who is scared that he will die as an actor sooner than in the show :O
Holy shit he was Donovan in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade!?!?!?!? Crazy.
Pycelle is 85 years old, unless the a-holes at HBO screwed with the character.
Grand Maester Pycelle isn't a 104, Aemon is the oldest character and he's 102.
Dear Me. All you young bloody heathens!? Bow down for Walter Donovan!!!
tywin dies in this season??? or does he know what happens in the next?
This was the dude that won the Battle of Hoth in Empire Strikes Back
Am I the only one weirded out to see these people in normal clothes?
But what a shit death for him though, maybe the start of the shitstorm that followed in the next seasons
He did not die in Return of the Jedi?
"Target; MAXIMUM FIREPOWER!"
Amazing interview!
this guy was in Star Wars Empire Strikes Back, PAY HOMAGE
Poor Julian, thinking that Pycelle is useful to someone.
Did he just spoiled the death of... Can he do that? :P
Great actor but comes across as incredibly arrogant.
Love this guy!
i didn't expect that in reality "Sansa" was so dumb
I still don't understand why he told Ned Stark about what Jon Arryn was researching if he was protecting the Lannisters.
There's no need for him to know that. Also he specifically says that he will read the books once the he's finished with the show.
This is what I wondered about, as in Pycelle's scene with Tyrion after he has been wounded Pycelle is not stooped or shaking because he knows Tyrion is no longer a threat.
The man who plays the pyromancer was originally supposed to play Pycelle, as a longtime friend of Martin's and narrator of his books.
Pycelle the slimy maester
Hold up.
Pycelle is WWE champion?

Fun fact, Julian Glover also played General Veers in the Empire Strikes Back for those star wars fans.

SKIP 4:00 . 500 SPOILERS
That's my nigga Pycelle
Two parts of England...

Maester not master!
good guy youtuber.
So, did anyone else know that this guy played General Veers in Star Wars?! That was a mind fuck discovery for me!!

Great interview. Glovers a legend. He's starring in a new brit flick called BRASH YOUNG TURKS. Check out the trailer. He's at the end.
Also, you must understand that Pycelle is playing sides. He wanted Stark to think he was on his side, much like Littlefinger.
He will play the lead roles when they make the George Soros and David Rockefeller movies.
Which voice did he play in Harry Potter? :o
master? LOL
Maester Pycelle sounds so much like Deckard Cain from Diablo
Freakin' General Veers ... He should take his AT - AT in GoT, he would be the new King ...
Aragog
OH well thanks for the heads up that he dies right here in the comments :''''(
damn it Julian, you spoiled Tywin's death!
"I always back the right horse!"
But not the right little birdies, yes? :)
C'mon, please put a spoiler warning in description :)
Incredible actor. He doesn't sound at all like sneaky Pycelle.
I think he only dies when Daenerys finally invades King's Landing...
Jan you are so lovely :) Also nice interviews, maybe the best around GoT!
Master? mAEster!
Yes the Maester will be brilliant. Stay tuned about chances to meet him!
the writers didnt he said the writers said he would have a good death and he said he hopes for something spectacular
It's nice to see how genuinely excited and interested in the GOT series he is.
Because he didn't know what Jon Aryn was researching.
o shit its pycelle!
its on youtube though, on the dvd as a deleted scene.
"Shagga has no Goats Littleman"
"Well make do!"
Grand MAESTER* not master -_-'
General Veers!
Wonderful guy!
"I'm too good an actor?" I mean...a little pretentious, buddy...
