    Such a nice contrast between their younger counterparts, Emily is also an anxious person like Emma while Milly and Olivia has that same carefreeness in them

      They never said that they were doing any of the big action? And even if they are, Rhaenyra is a dragon rider and doesn't need physicality for that.

    Many of the most powerful leadership positions in Europe are held by women, IMF, EU for example to name but two. The speaker of the house, vice president, and some of the most high profile congress people and senators in the US are women, Hilary Clinton would have been president if she wasn't clearly corrupt and terrible at relating to the average person, the next conservative leader will likely be Liz Truss, Nicola Sturgeon, O'Neill co leader of Northern Ireland, the previous unionist leader was female, Angela Merkel was the most powerful and influential leader in Europe for well over a decade etc. I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess both these ladies are Labour voters, so they need to ask themselves why Labour has never had a female leader. Not that I'm a supporter of the Tories, I'm not even British. The idea that men in power on masse are plotting against women to keep them out of power, specifically because they are women, in this modern era is delusional, conspiratorial, and easily disproven nonsense.

    • @mirieshii1948
      @mirieshii1948 2 роки тому +2

      Probably true in the timeline of the show but I hope they don't make it like "men are evil and women are the heroes".

    • @stottie92
      @stottie92 Рік тому +5

      I'd really recommend looking into the "Glass Cliff Theory". It refers to a situation in which women are promoted to higher positions during times of crisis / when the chance of failure is more likely. (When looking at the UK's record of all three of our female PMs...I find it hard to argue otherwise.)
      I don't think they're suggesting that male leaders plot to keep out women. I think they're simply reflecting their lived reality. That the "safe" vote is, more often than not, the white male. Not because society as a whole is overtly sexist, but because a vote for a man is a historical, and therefore a quantifiable known.

      @@mirieshii1948 *they. I don't see how she's trying too hard to be different, that's just Emma, and yeah they spoke about the patriarchy which is a thing that still exists today but was in maximum overdrive in the medieval period which is the period that Game of Thrones is based on. The original show, and all of the books, deal with issues of sexism and patriarchy.

    • @mirieshii1948
      @mirieshii1948 2 роки тому

      @@kielanwade5096 no one can deny that. But the problem with the woke movement is they attribute everything evil to patriarchy. Who goes to war to save the kingdom? Patriarchy. Who goed outside to check for intruders? Patriarchy. It is right to address sexist tropes for sure but framing it as "men bad women always victims" gets old. That's why a lot of shows are getting cancelled because it is so divisive. Brie Larson even went as far as to say that her movie wasn't made for "white men". That in itself is sexist. So painting patriarchy as the only thing with evil is wrong.
