He seemed to enjoy doing the smaller roles, although why he took on stuff like Golden Child and Last Action Hero I cannot fathom. I guess hindsight's 20/20 and as an actor you're just glad to work at all. I would have loved to see him play a big Bond Villain rather than just a henchman.
@Stefano Pavone I am glad he did Last Action Hero. I saw him in that first at age 9 and have casually followed him ever since. How amazing he got to play a character such as Tywin on a high budget show seen by many millions.
@@jelenacokic7189 He was very enigmatic in Rebecca. Far more so than previous Max de Winters - even though technically they were considered more handsome. I think that's the key to Charles Dance - his overall persona.
My favorite novel is Bleak House. When the mini-series was upcoming, I wondered how Dance would handle the despicable Tulkinghorn. He nailed it, if course. An acting great.
A national treasure. Iconic as Tywin Lannister in Game of Thrones. Though I personally prefer the A Song Of Ice And Fire books he was brilliantly cast. Though for once let’s imagine him as Tywin but bald and sporting mutton chops! 😆
I weirdly had a flash of a family. Charles the patriarch, Tim Roth the son and Tom Hardy the grandson in this British mafia. The generational differences. Hardy is the rough and tumble but turning into his dad and weary of the game like a British godfather. There's one more revealed, hardys child but I am yet to pick an actor young and upcoming
He's actually not. I've seen this in other interviews - there is an interview of Robert Plant from the 70s and an interview of Freddie Mercury from the 80s where they smoke exactly like this. They kind of inhale but don't exhale. It's weird, but not fake smoking.
brutally underserved career, he should have been a mainstay in movies for the last 30 years

Quality isn't quantity. He is known for and remembered for the movies that he did.
He's in the age of 50 here...and he looks so damn good!
I can't stop listening to his voice
You know he isn't bad looking for his age.
Ritsukaberry 😒

@@candyclews4047 That's right!!!
Charles is the man I want to be that I didn't know I wanted to be.
Tywin: The younger years
One of the best villians in the Golden Child and last action hero
Great actor , charming man , I love him very much !!!

Dr.Nabel you are a genius
Was this before he destroyed house Reyne?
He would be a perfect Godfather after Marlon Brando.
what film is this i wanna zee it!! one of the Fat ladies is a judge!! sounds brilliant
He did the portrait of Ian Fleming in the movie Goldeneye, and was nicely done and sutil...
He also played a silent minor henchman in For Your Eyes Only (1981)
Prophecy Amanda?
I always thought Dance would've made a decent Captain Hook-- or even Oscar Wilde-- when he was a bit younger.
Wow, I didn’t he was a smoker.
not anymore
Lol he’s fake smoking

@@bramstayer you don't stealth smoke beacause you are enjoying a cigarette, not a communist clawing your way through shit.
