I like the way someone realised a lot of people, particularly in certain areas of England, like to constantly qualify what buildings used to be - and then made an SCP out of it. Could also not be related ,but it is a thing that made me notice it when I was listening to this.
Watching this alone in the middle of the night. The part about 2062 (which used to be a library) genuinely freaked me the fuck out. The editing style, the uncanny robot voice, the background music, the atmosphere. This channel is a masterpiece that deserves to be preserved in a (former) library
I found it funny, as it used to be a library, but maybe that’s because it’s always been presented as a funny SCP any time someone else covers it. Taking something that used to be a library and make it scary is definitely unique to this channel, lol. It takes some high-quality reading and editing to pull that off. At the end of the day, the most important thing is that it used to be a library.
General recommendation: If you enjoyed the way 2602 affects information conveyed about it (The compulsion for people to highlight the fact that it used to be a library), you'd probably like 426. I'm a pretty cool SCP with a similar kind of primary anomalous effect, so I think you'd enjoy reading about me. Although unfortunately, unlike 2602, which used to be a library, I have never been a library.
I love how 2062 has a in general such a lighthearted tone, confersational almost with the frequent mentions of what it used to be. But if you pay attention to what ia being said at all it has such an underlying element of menace, with agents suffering lethal fleah wounds, prayer altairs and restraints, bodily fluids being scattered around and apparently non euclidian space being present within this structure that interstingly enough used to be a library!
I really love how 2602 reads in a way that makes you a participant in it simply by sharing it, even if you weren’t reading the actual entry’s, because of the way it’s written you essentially can’t talk about it or communicate what it’s about without repeating that one phrase. It’s surprisingly clever. I really do love the mundane SCP’s tbh, I like that this channel has been covering some lesser known entry’s
General recommendation : I haven't heard anyone on UA-cam talk about SCP 6213. A clock tower that temporally traps people inside but only at a specific time. A real urban legend type SCP
I will keep posting about "The Flesh That Hates", SCP-610 on the off chance it gets featured at some point, is absolutely one of the best SCPs! Buuuuuuut it's also insanely long if you take it as a whole. (Also, There Is No Antimemetics Division was fantastic, I finished it the day my hardcover arrived, really great book, can't wait for you to cover more of it and share your thoughts!)
You should definitely read SCP-7999 as its own video. It's pretty long but it's really really good. Plus it's not a multi-article epic, just one story.
also, it would be fun if there was a series where you went over all the X000 SCPs in order. e.g. part 1 would have 1000, 2000, and 3000, the next 4000, 5000, and 6000, etc
For an SCP that turns into a really fun rabbit hole with a bunch of supplemental material, look up SCP-093, or "The Red Sea Object". It starts off pretty straightforward, but the supplemental material turns into some great fiction by itself. I really recommend it just to read because it's really enjoyable!
I always felt like the red disk object and the blood pool ones were peak scp but they're super long and already covered but I love when they explore a new messed up world
ARG SUGGESTION: SCP 245. its literally a playable RPG game. i have NO idea whats in it, and i dont think ive ever heard anyone talk about it outside the scp wiki, discussion of it is really sparse. it might be a bit beyond the scope of your channel, BUT it might be cool to check out.
SCPs like 2602 really get into my head. I desperately want answers, to know what the text would have said prior to the anomalous property effecting it. Yet I have to contend with the fact that no definitive answers exist, only disconnected pieces of information that leave me with even more questions and burning curiosity. Ultimately, the effect is that my compulsive need to know the answers runs headfirst into an impenetrable wall. In other words, this type of cognito-hazard aggravates me immensely.
@@marinagaul The answer's actually pretty simple! The secret to 2602 is that it used to be a library! I know it might seem strange at first but the fact that people say it used to be a library is actually pretty normal for buildings that used to be libraries. Hope this helped :)
ARG Rec: i know i just sent an other rec earlier but i just remembered one that i think you would love, SCP-3449! there’s a lot of multimedia elements that you mentioned, plus kirby is one of my fav writers :)) though its definitely pretty long i think the article makes up for that and you should check it out!
The Ad Astra Per Aspera canon hub SCP section is probably my favourite, particularly SCP-4547, for a variety of reasons, but I guess I have a softness for the ending, and its implication in that take on the SCP-verse going forward.
General rec: if you like antimemetics (which, i’m assuming you do considering your reading TINAD) i HIGHLY recommend The Department of Miscommunications (DoMC)!! the whole thing is GREAT, the biggest one is “SCP-Dr. Michael’s Is Not In Danger” but i also really like SCP-4288!
I feel like there is a decent chance to neutralize the former library SCP-2602's anomalous properties, which seem to have manifested when it stopped being considered a library, by renovationg it and opening it back up as a proper library, like it used to be.
Earnest suggestions I imagine you'd like: SCP-3034 or SCP-6096, for mind-messing kinds of spooky season *fun - Love how you covered 1602 btw, that was the one that hooked me into the whole fandom/subculture in 1st place
This suggestion might be a little long but one of my favorites is SCP-1730. No particular reason aside from it was among the first ones I ever heard and I love the vibe it has.
Very nice to see SCP videos about some of the lesser known later series SCPS! For ARG-esque SCPs i would highly recommend SCP-5956 (The Reisno Cannon), fairly short on its own but connected to several other SCPs for some pretty complex storytelling. For a more general recommendation: SCP-6345 is a very cute story I'd love to see covered!
I would absolutely adore it if you could do a reading of SCP-5696. Good mid-length article, nice imagery especially if you dig noire, and it's soon to make a small appearance in Go Home Annie. Also, it's my pride and joy (:
love your readings :) !!! and you guys pick great ones to read too. Really enjoying the antimemetics division vids especially. My suggestion is SCP-3001, an entry that really threw me for a loop the first time i read it. It's is on the longer side from what i remember, but the format of most of it being audio logs would make it perfect for your style i think! it's a bit scary but mostly kind of surreal, interesting and a little sad. An excellent quiet horror piece :)
scp 4444 is wayyyy too long to be in one of these videos, but ill mention it anyways cause its a favorite of mine (i have a bias towards comedic scps, i love them a lot more than anything scary, which says a lot considering how big of a horror buff i am) but a short and sweet one that i absolutely ADORE is scp-2598. moth helmet salesman is very cute but also very very funny and remains one of my favorites
im always so impressed how you guys cover these lesser known scp articles. like, i havent heard of a single one of these before, and ive been listening to thevolgun a LOT lately. really appreciating how you guys arent doing the overdone ones that have been covered a bunch before
If I had to recommend any SCPs (by which I mean shill my own) I'd recommend SCP-7711 or SCP-6350. They're by the same author, probably their best work.
I'd love to see your reaction to SCP-2679, I've only ever seen one other UA-camr read it, NaturesTemper, which is how I discovered it. It's a fun little one, if a bit cliché. I also live within 20km of this SCP and Jeannette is coming for me as we speak
(This might be a weirdly transparent and honest answer) I really like it as well, but thb removing these Signalis references from the first section of the visuals, which stay the same between entries, is the better choice for the longevity for the channel. The idea with this channels visuals was always that we could switch them up whenever we felt like it. And to be honest, while i absolutely love Signalis (wow who could have guessed) It does feel a bit tacky to have such a strong reference to it at the transitions. The second parts of the entries visuals are always changing and with those I just make stuff that I think looks cool and is fun, I often try out stuff just for the sake of it. And those visuals will always have references to the media I love. Cyberpunk, Evangelion, Blade runner and others are a constant source of inspiration. So while we are taking out the direct references from the “basic” visuals, the addendum visuals will always have references and easter eggs (like the easter egg in this video) This channel is a way for us to try out cool stuff so its always going to be in flux, but I hope the core experience still evokes that cool, slightly mysterious type of feeling :) // V
@@JVSCP oh i see, thank you for the throughout explanation! it's kinda funny because i didn't even pick up on the fact that it was a reference, i just enjoyed it as an editing choice because it separated the entries nicely :]
