I was wondering about my humid winter days! I’m in NC and our weather can’t make up its mind. Two days ago it was 88 degrees F (31.1C) then it rained and today it’s overcast with a high of 65F (18.3C)! My hairs are constantly on their toes!

I went straight to my husband and announced to him that we are moving to Canada because I need to live next door to Mel! All he said was who's Mel? So clearly we're a go! Meet your future neighbor! Lol I may have to borrow a cup of conditioner some time! Btw...I can't move to Canada and I promise I'm not a stalker.
I FELT THE SHADE 😂😂 Not me knowing all this is wrong, doing it anyway, and then wondering why my hair feels drier as the days go on when I’ve been applying my masks and conditioners 🤭 It’s the improper styling for me! Never again Mell, never again.
its been SO rainy here in Canada lately, it can still be too cold for high humidity in April(hence why i had to steam up the washroom) but i KNOW the struggle from vacationing to the tropics, especially in the morning i remember everything being so moist and sticky and this routine SAVED me! I would love to see a video on ways to style and temporarily put my frizzy curly hair up when doing physical work (like yard-comfy at home but still want to look cute for my bf or event-dressed up and need to still look on point setup without or with minimal restyling, etc.) Also, would love to see new or existing videos on how to prep my hair for sleep to keep it shaped and fresh for the next day.

I can’t afford expensive products and don’t have a ton of time to style working full time with 2 kids and their activities. Hey there fellow curly 😉. I don't know if this will help but if your hair is dry you could get away with washing it once or twice a week and I personally am only using 2 drugstore products for styling one is a thick cream leave in because my hair is thick and corse and a spray in gel and I follow Mells diffusing tips and my hair stays frizz free all day even though I live on a tropical island with high humidity so I don't feel my styling routine is too long. Sometimes just doing the basics can work out in your favor oh and a good bonnet for sleeping in.
@@demonicastar thank you for the positive words! My hair is fine and low density so I can’t use “heavy” products and I have to frequently wash bc my kids play baseball almost literally everyday. I can’t not wash my hair most days in the summer and not feel gross. I am still trying to accept my hair …thank you again!
@@snowflakes215 you have an advantage because of your hair type , it dries way quicker than mine 😀 I assume a spray leave in would be suitable because it's a lot lighter and many drugstore brands are good without a hefty price, I used to work in a salon and would use the salon products on my clients but I wouldn't purchase them for myself lol I was to broke.

I am excited to share this discovery. I have a problem with height when styling. This morning, I used the tail of the Tangle Teaser Ultimate Teaser Hair Brush to lift while I dried with my Dyson. Game changer!! Thank you Mel for your amazing and helpful videos!!
I love your vids on glycerin, thank you so much! Can you do a vid with a product developer on the formulation of products and ingredient choice because I often see so many curly hair products that have glycerin in the first five list and sincerely don’t understand why they include it and still state the product is an anti humectant. Like Aveda’s anti-humectant cream. I hunted it down and bought it, but being that it has glycerin in it it was useless in the NY high humidity weather. Almost $30 wasted. I just don’t understand it. Feels like it’s a ploy to market to those with humidity concerns. I have naturally soft fine very curly hair and my goal is to combat shrinkage caused by too much moisture. Not so much frizz, but after stretching my hair to go out and lose 3 inches after 10 min is so very irritating
A thousand thank yous from this curly on the Sunshine Coast in Australia where it is regularly 90% humidity with a super high dew point, especially in summer. I have found some great products here (Clever Curl) which meet your 'do' criteria and really help with the frizz but I will 100% be implementing these techniques to step it up to the next level! The video I never knew I needed!
I am stunned that Mell gets beautiful ringlets and only has to diffuse. I am hoping that my curls become more defined by doing the finger coiling method. I am just starting after years of straightening. I would love to not have to spend time sectioning and twirling but it is easier than flat ironing.
This comment made me laugh! I'm in New Jersey but am Puerto Rican and all my aunts there on the island have boy short hair. They used to have super long hair when they were young. I guess they just gave up trying to style it 😂

I love your vids on glycerin, thank you so much! Can you do a vid with a product developer on the formulation of products and ingredient choice because I often see so many curly hair products that have glycerin in the first five list and sincerely don’t understand why they include it and still state the product is an anti humectant. Like Aveda’s anti-humectant cream. I hunted it down and bought it, but being that it has glycerin in it it was useless in the NY high humidity weather. Almost $30 wasted. I just don’t understand it. Feels like it’s a ploy to market to those with humidity concerns.
I have naturally soft fine very curly hair and my goal is to combat shrinkage caused by too much moisture. Not so much frizz, but after stretching my hair to go out and lose 3 inches after 10 min is so very irritating
A thousand thank yous from this curly on the Sunshine Coast in Australia where it is regularly 90% humidity with a super high dew point, especially in summer. I have found some great products here (Clever Curl) which meet your 'do' criteria and really help with the frizz but I will 100% be implementing these techniques to step it up to the next level! The video I never knew I needed!

I am stunned that Mell gets beautiful ringlets and only has to diffuse. I am hoping that my curls become more defined by doing the finger coiling method. I am just starting after years of straightening. I would love to not have to spend time sectioning and twirling but it is easier than flat ironing.

This comment made me laugh! I'm in New Jersey but am Puerto Rican and all my aunts there on the island have boy short hair. They used to have super long hair when they were young. I guess they just gave up trying to style it 😂

Aaaay, hermana boricua, its not easy!!! Ill keep trying, but if it gets just toooo tireing (ive tried all style techniques and bought products like crazy) than ill just go boy-short. 🤷♀️
