the pillars looks like the wind temple pillars, maybe it has something to do with the world of Aurai?
that armor is too clean for it to be an outward armor set.

Man, Outward will always have a special place in my heart.
Same, I didnt like the graphics or simplistic gameplay from the videos i'd saw. On a whim I got it on sale and sunk more than 100+ hours. It's such a hidden gem i've gotten my friends/family to pick it up as well. I'm super stoked it's gonna be on switch, just one more platform I can support them on.

No way this is Outward 2. I wish, but you can see immediately that it has nothing to do with Outward, there is no similarity and the whole vibe is completely different. Nah man.
Edit 7.3.: I was right: The teaser was for their new game "Lost in Prayer". That said, Outward 2 was also announced!!!

@@kingjabon I'm really sorry, because I absolutely feel you! But they did say that they' re not working on Outward 2 afaik. BUT that doesn't mean that they will never do an Outward 2. I could very well imagine that they would one day, or at least a game with very similar mechanics in a different universe.
the character in the picture doesn't even have a backpack! I really want outward 2 but this most probably isn't it;
Just speaking from a visual arts perspective, this is completly diferent from outward, and sure, styles change look at zelda, but I doubt this is the case.

I think that Nine Dots making a couple of explicit references to "heaven" in the text accompanying the picture, combined with the angelic wings on the character is a bit out of place for anything related to Outward. I kinda hope I'm wrong, because I'd absolutely love a sequel/prequel to Outward, but I don't think either the visual style of the character nor the text they put in their posts really fits in what we've seen from Aurai so far.
But, time will tell! Thanks for covering this, I'll keep an eye on your channel as I've done for several years now. Cheers!

Would you be disappointed if they made a Diablo clone? Not that Nine dots would jump on the diablo bandwagon or anything but it seems more and more are coming out as of late.

@@ninokaah1591 my wife and I were talking about taking time off work to play together on launch week. The first one was a fantastic coop experience that was pretty special for us.

The way everything else is blurry and the character is in focus, plus the fact that he's standing on some sort of a stone plate, makes me thing it's a part of a character selection screen. Maybe some sort of a multiplayer thing like a MOBA or something.
Oh man that scares me so much :( What if it was a loot driven game like Diablo, Path of Exile or The Last Epoch?

I don't think that's a weapon, I think it's a tail with a braided tip or metal tip. Maybe it can be used as a weapon as well. Also, in the post they shared they typed "Good heavens, who is he?" Implying that he is an angel or a God by the mention of heaven. I don't think it's a player character.
Let them practice on a new IP, learn a few more things, and then release Outward 2 after perfecting everything they've learned.
That "weapon" could just be exaggerated hair/helmet ornament.
It feels more mythical and celestial than the more grounded feel of Outward. Maybe those are actual functional wings on the guy and he's an angel of sorts?
It would be a huge departure in style if you played as an angelic being in the new game, instead of a regular chump trying to have an adventure and survive.
Could that be a fancy tail?
Outward 2 Hype!
The one thing that makes me acutally support the theory that this is a teaser for Outward 2 is that Nine Dots is not a big super popular game studio.
They are not like Blizzard or so where the moment Blizzard realeases a picture of a random new game the internet would get crazy with theories.
No they are a small company, so only Outward players/fans would get interested in anything from the in the first place.
Therefore if this is an entirely new game nobody is really there to care about 1 picture.
Been really excited for an outward 2! I still need to finish the grind of the first game and stop making new characters
Outward has been one of my favorite RPGs in the last couple years. I have googled "9dot studios next game" so many times in the last couple years. I'm SUPER excited to find out they're making a follow up... although I was secretly hoping they were making a sort of "sci fi spiritual successor" to Outward. I'll happy take a direct fantasy sequel though.

You were right… its all of your assumptions they are releasing 3 games
to me, this doesnt seem like its got anything to do with outward, at least the artstyle is so drastically different from outward that its hard for mw to imagine.
best case scenario imo is that this is a small budget "filler" game while ninedots is working towards a new game based on outwards ip(hopefully a prequel before the scourge copium).
going all in on an entirely new ip after finally making it big seems completely irrational to me.
i hope u do playthrough of Outward some time in future!

Whatever the game will be, I hope they'll be working with the same composer again, as Outward imo has the best game OST of all time.
I'm 100% ok if it's not a direct sequel. I love Outward but I'm also curious to see what the studio can do a bit different. As long as it's a RPG, I'm in and tits up !

One thing that came to my mind is that the pillars on the background looks like the ones of the Cabal of Winds in Outward.
Anyway, the picture didn't give me many Outward vibes so I'm still sceptical about seeing an Outward 2 announcement in the next months but in either case we'll be able to enjoy a new game from the devs :)

It's looking more like a game that features a battle between heaven and hell, maybe like Darksiders or Spawn
I found this channel because of Outward.
I bought the original both on PC and PS4, because I loved it and wanted to support it. But the environmental stuff was always too much of hassle for me to truly enjoy the game.
But I liked the world, and the character progression. Allways curious to see more from them 😊
It's almost 100% a new IP. Guillaume straight up said that they'd want to do a different game before coming back to Outward.

I highly doubt this is going to be Outward 2. However, I'd definitely be on board for a sequel though, so I'm secretly still crossing my fingers. I'm very happy Outward ended up doing well for them, it's a great and rather unique game. They took a big risk with that game and it paid off.

the blurry teaser image looks exactly like archeage erenor armor including the wings. it makes me think it's for some completely different korean-type game, where as outward was kinda grimey completely different style. I don't think it's a sequel. in fact I'm 99.9% sure it's way too generic armor to be anything related to outward.

It could be, actually. But it seems like it glows? That's why I thought it's a weapon of some kind.
@@click4gameplayIt could be a part of the armour (some of the Outward's armours had glowing elements if I remember correctly) or a godly feature of that character. Hard to say.
Have an odd opinion on this, in that I hope it isn't a prequel or sequel, however still having it tied to it in someway. Reason being is games like Outward I like the idea of them being a standalone, given its uniqueness I feel it would take abit way from that if franchised.

Maybe the 'weapon' is a tail? Btw doesn't look like Outward to me.
What I'm seeing is:
-Fancy looking visuals with depth of field effect looking too similar to Unreal Engine's DOF.
-A fancy looking character with some fancy drip (those decorative wings emerging from the elbows, dammm those are beautiful!), and a crooked tail that is even more fancy-looking (if not 'the fanciest' thing on screen). A khajiit kinda race in a Nine Dots Studio RPG? Sign me up!
-What else, ummm... I see a helmet that looks strikingly similar to C4G's avatar!
This is it people, we have the answer. C4G was just confirmed as a character in the next RPG by NDS. Case closed, haha.

Really hope its Outward 2! The best open world game after Death Stranding. I enjoyed Elden Ring but man did it get boring zooming over vast empty areas with recycled enemies in the late game. After I played 100hours of Elden Ring I started up Outward right away again, so much better with hardcore travelling mechanics, no teleporting and zooming around on horse. Real backpack and light mechanics.

Looks like average mobile free to play pay to win art direction that photo i not like it, Outward si more tarnished /rough art stile wich is more fitting for all the survival part inside the game
They were focused on Switch port of Outward until last year.
This is likely a different game that was planned before Outward was released.
Since Outward was 5 years in the making, Outward 2 will likely see an early access release sometime in 2028.

not looks like Outward and I hope it is not Outward 2 the style would not fit with Outward at least not for me .

Outward is the most amazing game I won't play. It's too hard.
Its like a lot of euro jank games, the first few hours are way harder then the later hours. Give it a good try if you want, it doesn't stay that hard and don't be afraid to kind of exploit your enemies by screwing with their A.I. It's you against the game, afterall
@@xm1808 It's not like other RPG's. I put 19 hours into it. It was still very difficult. I barely stayed alive, amazing game with the best sense of adventure, but just too hard.
