The most underrated animated movie of all time. OBTW Disney did not originally produced this. All Disney did was distribute for video and own the rights.
I was born in 92, grew up with Brave Little Toaster, but I find most of the movies I enjoy to be from my time or before. It's hard to know what's good and what's out there, though.
I love this cartoon, it brings me back to my childhood and some good times❤️ And I've never had nightmares or anything like that... I can't wait to watch it again so that it brings back memories of good times
Will never be too old for this movie. Such a wonderful. The messages put forth in this movie are tremendously wholesome. Unfortunately, in today’s world of disposability, it makes hoarders. Still a wonderful watch especially if you have kids
Brave Little Toaster turns 35! I remember renting it so much as a kid Odd that it's not on Disney +, maybe because of its history Turns out animator John Lasseter originally pitched Brave Little Toaster as a computer-animated feature to Disney, which upset a studio executive so much that he fired Lasseter within minutes Lasseter took the concept to Hyperion Pictures, which later released it as an independent production to positive reception Lead to several sequels too Nostalgia Critic loved how much effort was put into it; he admired the softer moments, the ones focusing on the loneliness of these appliances trying to get back to their master There's a sense of harshness looming overhead Charming characters and cute song numbers along with some really intense scary scenes I gotta say Even won a parents choice award and was a smash hit at the Sundance Film Festival The Worthless song is his favorite, very catchy Smooth animation and on-point expressions
@gletube3109 No, some of the same people at Hyperion who made this movie also went on to be the founding members of Pixar who worked on Toy Story, so they're not two completely separate groups of people. The comment you're replying to even specifically mentions Lasseter's involvement. It's more that Disney claims greater ownership of TBLT than they actually have. The home releases have a "Disney Presents" logo on them that makes it look like Disney made the movie (as opposed to just being its distributor), while Hyperion only gets mentioned in tiny text on the back of the case.
Well... SPOILER ALERT He sacrifices himself at the end of the film to save his master from being accidentally crushed by a junkyard compaction machine. (Naturally though, because it is a kids' film, the master recovers him and fixes him).
0:06 "They're the five spunkiest little characters you've ever met." "It's a possibility." Haaa, it's exactly like what Jim Norton made fun of on O&A about movie trailers that make a character respond to the announcer and the phrasing of the response doesn't quite match.
Hey there, I finished a massive project of mine (Look 1 day shy of 2 months to complete) this morning (Jan31st 2024 10:17AM of Toronto Ontario' online time zone clock [Size: 3,244,306,424 bytes (3.24 GB on disk)] of timing the entire movie to songs and instrumentals. Anyways, youtube will only allow me to have videos that are 15 minutes or less in length (Mine is 2 seconds shy of 1hr40min) so do you know where I can post it for others to see? :) Oh, and just a fun fact, one I never really thought to share till now, but I have always pictured this about Toaster, that is with her having the ability to speak through her front slot instead whenever she wanted (If you stop and think about it he would be able to do that no problem). Now that would be a confusing head trip, I know, I know, I'm a strange one, lolz :)@@Upscaled_HT
FUN FACT: The “City of Lights” leitmotif was later reused in Randy Newman’s rejected score for Air Force One as the main theme leitmotif. Some pieces that Newman originally scored for Air Force One were reused in Toy Story 3
I’m 34 and watched this as a kid and loved them…. I just saw a post on Facebook using real items and says “Only the real ones know” i asked a gen z 19yr old if they ever saw this and i believed him and id believe it if his pare hadn’t either cause they are from Mexico… i think this movie doesn’t/didn’t reach enough countries
I was growing up in the 1980's first time I watched this movie I was in love with this movie so many great songs blanket reminds of piglet small and cute
The voyage was his idea. The rest are followers who probably would’ve stayed in the attack if it hadn’t been for………THE BRAVE LITTLE TOASTER speaking up! 🎉😂🎊
Eh they seem like the girl has darker skin then other, with the guy having lighter skin. Both I think are white tbh. But hey, nothing wrong with mixed race couples, even though I don't believe that applies here.

I read that the movie aired on Disney Channel before the VHS release.
@@matthewweatherford6566It also aired on cartoon network ik the early 90s
Wasn't born in the 70s or 80s but the 70s an 80s was literally my childhood. Movies/shows AMAZING

It literally wasn't your childhood, as you admit.
Excellent film!! Because of this movie I take good care of my stuff including blankets and toasters 😊
OMG so real...
I loved this movie so much! The nostalgia!
the best children's cartoon of the last 50 years. more than a few adults can learn from it as well.
101 dalmations is a classic too. Watched it with my nephew and my brothers dog and we had a blast 😂
I'm amazed there aren't more comments talking about how horrifyingly disturbing this movie was. I'm pushing 40 and I still have nightmares about it.
Amen.
I was watching horror at the same time as a little kid so I wouldn’t know lols 🤪
Same!
@@kennethdebie That checks out. Amen indeed.
toy story
Trailer: awesome
Movie itself: my sleep paralysis demon
"The brave little toaster, and his unusual pals" like a fuckin walking talking toaster isn't unusual in itself 😂
Over the years of search now i finally found this cartooon😫😫😫😫
I love this cartoon, it brings me back to my childhood and some good times❤️ And I've never had nightmares or anything like that... I can't wait to watch it again so that it brings back memories of good times
36 years now 😮 wonder why I thought of this after my counceling session 😂
Never realized this but i'm willing to bet this is where Toy Story got their idea
Lol im stupid.. It was created by the same person but he actually had no involvement with the film once it got the greenlight or whatever
I came to look this movie up as I just saw Dan Povenmire say toy story was a rip off of this movie
Before Toy Story, there was The Brave Little Toaster.
Will never be too old for this movie. Such a wonderful. The messages put forth in this movie are tremendously wholesome. Unfortunately, in today’s world of disposability, it makes hoarders. Still a wonderful watch especially if you have kids
Don't let the trailer fool you. This is a horror movie

Well,It deserves to be on Disney+.
@@emeraldphoenix5868 yes!
Disney ripped it off 8 years later as Toy Story.

Definitely if the other two movies are on Disney + the original deserves to be too!
OMG I think I watched this movie at least 1 million times with my daughter😂
How brave could that little toaster can do?
What?
Well...
SPOILER ALERT
He sacrifices himself at the end of the film to save his master from being accidentally crushed by a junkyard compaction machine.
(Naturally though, because it is a kids' film, the master recovers him and fixes him).
Huh
@@GreyWolfLeaderTWI cried at that (I legit just finished the movie)
This is a good time movie for my childhood

this was my favorite movie as a kid. i believe i had this on the Beta machine lol
One of my all time favorites!
The original title is Appliance Story
marketing this as some heartwarming family movie is just plain cruel lmfao
It was sad and horrifying, but one of my favorite movies when l was a kid!
One of the best movies of all time
Happy 37th Anniversary To The Brave Little Toaster
I remembered this because of Alvin the chipmunks I absolutely love this
I think my mom was 5 when this came out
Before toy story you had this toaster
I used to have genuine nightmares from this movie as a kid
The air conditioner scene always got me.

The clown was terrifying
had a window AC did ya?

wrong Newman. Randy wasn't involved in this. Van Dyke Parks wrote the song. David Newman was the musical director.
I remember watching this when I was young but forgot everything about it. I can't believe the original author was Thomas disch!
The radio is Alastor if he wasn’t a psychopath and instead a good person

Boardroom circa 1985:
So, I got this idea for an animated movie for kids. . .
Man 1987 is gonna be so good
false advertising this movie is absolutely terrifying
Man I forgot about this movie
I've seen this movie as a child, but just now I'm realising the similarities with Toy story, which I love btw, but quite similar premise.
I just remembered this classic today and thought the exact same thing.
I was growing up in the 1980's first time I watched this movie I was in love with this movie so many great songs blanket reminds of piglet small and cute
Fun fact: The guy that voiced Kirby the vacuum cleaner also voiced Tony the Tiger 🐅 😊
a bunch of you in the comments: Toy Story fuss
Me: Homeward Bound The Incredible Journey 1993
while I agree with you, your confusing the remake with the original. Homeward Bound came out in the 60s.
love this movie
Its like Toy Story with appliances … and apparently with John Lasseter as ideas man
The audio isn't synced.
There's a snake in my toaster
Is anyone ever going to point out that Toaster isn’t the only brave appliance?
The voyage was his idea. The rest are followers who probably would’ve stayed in the attack if it hadn’t been for………THE BRAVE LITTLE TOASTER speaking up! 🎉😂🎊
I remember them!
this must be a UK trailer!
With a American narrator
Almost like Toy Story ripped its entire story line from this movie lol
Good xmas movie
It was this and Watership Down that seriously left my childhood traumatised… then I saw the Anime Fist of the North Star and that was that…
Scared the shit out of me when i was like 5
Idk why i watched so many films on vhs i was 5 in 2009 lmao
The AC scene is vicious
my now 31 year old loved this movie, him and his godbrothers watched this and Thomas like other kids watched Barney.
Ron Pope - Drop in the Ocean
Boy that was a weird movie.
Toast Story
The central human figures are a mixed-race couple. The earliest depicted in a feature animation?
Eh they seem like the girl has darker skin then other, with the guy having lighter skin. Both I think are white tbh. But hey, nothing wrong with mixed race couples, even though I don't believe that applies here.
Why was the pencil test so good and the final result is so mediocre?
What?
Toy story really was a reboot of this movie. Hmm
toy story is a riff off of this movie
Looks like toy story ripped this off lol
anyone came here after that short/tiktok saying toy story is a ripoff of this movie?
Did toy story copy this movie
I was kinda looking for a home alone the book one
What?
Yeah what?
Why does this remind me of toy story
It reminds me of Toy Story haha
Story is a bit similar to toy story 😮
2024
Disney
20th Century Fox
Ummm... Toy Story?
Yes but with appliances
ASMR
How?
Two phone no one showed up but a dog I can can get away with it. Peace the fact out
What?
Кирби такой же как Сквидвард. И неважно, ворчливые они или нет, но они очень добрые.
Facebook brought me here. Total ripoff of toy story
There are 23 depictions of death in this movie. 3 of them suicides.
At least 2 - the air conditioner is debatable, since it could just be the mechanical equivalent of a rage-induced heart attack or stroke
