You can select the sides and roof simply by using the top and side selections from the extrude mesh when you make the buildings. If you set the default material before everything, then simply applying these two will have everything assigned. No calculations needed.
@@deayanstudios BTW, I used your tutorial on the curves text to make some titles in my video. It's not that good - I'm just learning blender because I'm a sci-fi author and a miser, so I want to make the promos myself. lol. But than you for being so generous with your skill. I did tag you, but I don't really know how UA-cam works, so I'm not sure you saw it (you don't have to, just that I used your trick) BTW, if you do see it and have suggestions for improvements, I'm all ears.
Hey, thanks! Some faces might not get windows because of the way the voronoi texture works in 3D. You can adjust the mapping co-ordinate position and also the scale of the voronoi texture to get different/more of the faces to get the windows properly.
It turned out great. Thank you very much for an interesting lesson. Attention question. How can I add letters here? Fly around, fly around, beauty, and then bam and text. Whether it’s good or not depends on the circumstances.
Thank you so much! If I've understood the question correctly, I feel like you could definitely create something bezier curves around the generated city and then have letters follow the paths. This could even be procedurally done in geometry nodes. Maybe if you can possibly describe it in more detail, I can come up with a solution
@@deayanstudios Good afternoon. Curves around the city are simple and understandable, but not what I need. A simple option is that the whole city is on fire and slowly fades out, the camera looks at the city from above. The city is the word NO. Or the city is filled with lights and the word YES is obtained. Separately, draw the text, translate it into a mesh and throw the mesh into the notes, but it turns out. but you can't quickly change the font or the spacing between the letters so quickly.))
@@KIFDRAKON Hello, to have the city form the word no, you could start off with a strings to curve node with the word NO. Then fill the curves to form a mesh and then subdivide the mesh and follow the same logic for building the city. In case you want lights or textures to form the word, you can create the word and then check if the face is present within the text or not. If it is in the face, it apply a different material, such as an emission.
@@deayanstudios Good morning. The option you suggested does not work very correctly. The default text has a terrible grid. And in this case, part is stretched and part is flattened. Or I didn't find how to rearrange the geometry in geometric nodes so that the grid becomes square.

That's a really smart approach! I'll be sure to try it out in my future tutorials. Thanks :)

Hey! loved this tutorial. Idk why , only some of my buildings got the windows.

So far, the best option with text is to find the right font, translate it into a mesh and apply remeshing.
